    1998 All-Conference
    Football Teams Announced
    I.R., Cape athletes reap plenty of honors

    Cape Henlopen's Brian Donahue was named Henlopen Conference Coach of the Year when postseason all-star football teams were announced last week.

    Donahue guided Cape to a 9-2 overall record and its second straight Northern Division championship. The Vikings went undefeated in conference play.

    Cape also had 14 players honored by the conference.

    Receiving First Team All-Northern Division honors were tight end Tom Sheehan, tackle Robert Hahn, center Matt Graviet, running back Elijah Worthy, linebackers Mark Moore and Haywood Burton and defensive backs Malik Lopez and O.J. Wilson.

    Five additional players were named to the Second Team. They were guard Barry Barlow, quarterback John Howard, punter Nick Shaffer, defensive end Shane Massey and defensive tackle Fernando Villegas.

    Offensive tackle Trip Delcampo received Honorable Mention.

    In the Southern Division, Indian River had a strong showing after posting an 8-2 record, its best in seven years.

    Named First Team All-Southern Division were tackle Billy Reese, center Matt Mitchell, quarterback Shawn Watkins, running back Antoine Stratton, defensive tackle Brandon Reese and linebacker Shane Phillips.

    Receiving Second Team honors were running back Ryan Shelton, kicker George Cole and defensive back Buster Belote.

    Guard Nick Heim received Honorable Mention.
