Victoria updates Nikki about what happened at the impromptu board meeting. When Victor vows to take care of the backstabbing, Jack insists he made a business decision and then angrily orders Victor to get out of his office. Victor responds by threatening to leave Jack with nothing when he is done with him. He insists that Michael will not be on the board. Smashing the painting again, Victor vows to crush Jack. Ashley accuses Brad of trying to take Nikki. Malcolm is intrigued when he hears moaning coming from Jill's office. He sneaks a peek only to discover she is getting a massage to deal with her stress. Happy that Chris could be pregnant, a not-so-subtle Mary surprises Paul with a pot roast and a baby name book.

Ashley hugs Victor and assures him that she is glad that he is alive. Brad and Jack tell Victor that they are in charge but Victor bellows his disagreement and reminds everyone present that it is his company. They respond that they have the board and the shareholders' support. When another vote is demanded, the result is a 4-4 tie with Ashley abstaining. A frustrated Jack adjourns the meeting. Ashley confides to Victor that she was very concerned about him while he was gone. Seeing the portrait of Brad and Jack on the wall, Victor warns Jack that he's got big plans for him. Ryan hears that Victor is alive and back at Newman. Victoria assures him that he will have his job back soon.

Malcolm explains to Callie that he's concerned that he might be misleading her as far as their relationship is going. She claims that she is willing to take chances. Diane spots Michael at Gina's and tells him that a Newman board meeting was hastily scheduled for today. Neil advises Jill that victor's family called off the search for Victor this morning. Jill hopes that today might be the day that the fighting stops at the company. Nick manages to find Cassie in the stables and brings her to Alice for her visit. During their get-together, Cassie gives Alice the cold shoulder. Cassie is relieved when Sharon returns at the specified time. Jack mentions to Ashley that he thinks victor is dead.

Nikki gives Sharon the goods news about the return of his father. Sharon panics when she can't find Cassie in her room. Nikki rushes outside to find her. Alice faces an angry Michael who complains about all that he has given up to handle her case. He accidentally mentions Grace. After she thanks him for all he has done, Michael urges her to make friends with Cassie because they may have to put her on the stand. Alice is upset when she arrives at the ranch and learns that Cassie is not ready for her visit. Jack blames Jill for calling the board meeting but she claims that she didn't arrange it. Jill approaches Jack for help with Billy but he continues to be in a foul mood and refuses.

Nick tries to reassure Sharon that Cassie will be fine because of her efforts. Nick is furious to hear that Victoria ordered the search for their father to be canceled. He's shocked to find his father at the main house. Victor talks about his experiences with Chet. Nick and Victoria then advise Victor about the power struggle going on at the office and he is shocked to hear that Brad joined forces with Jack. When she complains that JacNc backed out of his promise to help her, Neil urges Jill to talNc with John about Billy spending the summer in Genoa City. Ashley angrily warns Diane that she can't be trusted especially where Jack's involved. Brad suggests to Jack that he try to take Jabot at a much later date but JacNc reminds Brad that he owes his father.

Cole urges Ashley to donate the painting Rafael made to a museum because it only reminds him of her rushing to help Rafael when he was in trouble. Jack's upset with the threat Brad has made to keep Jabot at Newman. Admitting that Brad has threatened to ruin his plans for Jabot, Jack complains to an unsuspecting Diane that she is starting to get on his nerves. Chris explains to Paul that she won't be able to see if she's pregnant until next week when her doctor returns town. They then decide to bring Mary some food when she opts to cancel their dinner plans. Victoria argues with Rafael that Ashley and Cole are not the perfect couple but he refuses to do anything to hurt his friend and her husband.

Neil interrupts Malcolm and Callie's discussion. Malcolm orders his brother to get out but he refuses and apologizes for interfering in his relationship with Olivia. He claims that Callie is responsible for Malcolm's marital woes and admits that he thought Olivia needed someone at this time. Malcolm lunges at his brother but Callie stops him and Neil leaves. Afterwards, Callie comforts Malcolm and the two kiss passionately. Nikki prepares to leave for dinner with Brad when she runs into Rafael. He refuses to talk about his relationship with Ashley causing Nikki to admit to him that she's concerned about Victoria interfering in Cole's marriage. At the Lodge Brad compliments Nikki while Cole surprises Ashley with flowers.

Brad shows Jack the portrait of the two of them he ordered painted and replaces Victor's own painting in the office. Brad then calls Nikki to see if there is anything he can do to help her. Cassie complains to Sharon about the trial and the possibility that Alice could be her mother. Neil apologizes to Ryan about what happened to him at work and guesses that he will be rehired once Victor returns. He also mentions that he is trying to make things better between his brother and his wife. Realizing Jack hasn't told Brad about his plans, Ashley urges Jack to dump Diane and get on with his plans for Jabot. Victoria is speechless to see her father enter the diner. Tricia confides to her sister that she thinks she might be pregnant.

Michael warns Grace that once he puts her on the stand, he's going to have to question her like he questions every witness. He also explains that the new judge assigned to the custody trial tends to favor the adoptive parents. Later, Grace confides to Tony that she would do anything she had to do to protect Cassie. Neil asks Callie to find out what is bothering Malcolm. Assuring him that she cares for him, Callie tells Malcolm that she wants to help him. Malcolm responds by kissing her. Megan talks with her friend Marnie about her arrest, Tony and how he dumped her. She suggests that, in time, Megan will get over the guy. Nick listens to the voice of the woman who called about Victor and explains to his mother that it sounds like the same woman he talked to in a diner in New Mexico. Michael asks Jack to promote Grace.
