Malcolm is unnerved to hear from his brother that Olivia already told him the particulars about her new job. Malcolm realizes that the only person who has been straight with him through all of this has been Callie. Meanwhile, Callie reminds herself that she is still married to Trey. Ryan asks Tricia why she dislikes Tony so much and suggests that Megan has a good head on her shoulders and should be trusted. The man pays Joe for the car Tony brought back from Florida. In his room, Tony confesses to Megan that he loves her. The police arrive and arrest Tony and Megan. Though Sharon feels close enough to Nick that she wants to be with him tonight, she can't find him and discovers a note downstairs in which he reveals that he has gone to help with the search for his father.

Victoria tries to comfort her mother who continues to worry about her missing husband. Later, Nikki has a dream in which Victor returns home safely. Waking, Nikki declares to Victoria that her dream is a sure sign that Victor must still be alive. At the coffeehouse Tricia accuses Nina of meddling in her sister's affairs and blasts her for encouraging Megan to stay with Tony. Nina denies that she did anything of the kind but Tricia doesn't believe her and storms out. Ryan surprises Nina there and reveals that Victoria fired him but that Jack and Brad have rehired him. Nina doesn't believe that he would go against Victor and guesses that he is lying. Tony and Megan pull over to rest on their way back to Genoa City but Joe calls and demands that they get the car back to him as soon as possible.

Ashley and Cole meet with their architect to discuss plans to turn the area over the Abbott garage into Cole's office. Jack and Diane interrupt the meeting with Diane's plans for that same space that will include an area for Cole as well. Ruth surprises Mary at her home and thanks her for sending "Jim" back to her. Mary embraces her and asks her to take care of Carl for her. Chris updates Paul on her meeting with Ann and mentions she's seeking a court order to review Cassie's adoption papers. When Lynne interrupts with a frantic message from the ranch, they rush to find Nick talking about Al's offer to tell them where Millie is. Chris advises them that Al has committed a crime by extorting money from them and urges them not to do anything or else they will face charges as well.

Ryan hands Jack and Brad his letter of termination that Victoria gave him and is shocked when they fail to offer him his job back. He boasts that he's given his all to the company and threatens to go to a competitor. Jack and Brad finally offer to reinstate him but strongly hint that they expect loyalty from him. After Ryan leaves, Jack advises Brad that he'll keep an eye on Ryan until he's completely convinced that Ryan is on their side. Victor collects what's left of the gas from the truck and considers where to set up a smoke signal for his rescuers. Ramona asks Chet why he's holding Victor prisoner. Victor boasts to Chet that he knows about the electric fence that he's installed on the property. Alice meets with Michael after her time with Cassie and complains about how badly the meeting went.

Ted the social worker talks with Grace about Sharon and Nick's relationship and how well she thinks they get along. He also asks about the closeness of Cassie to her and whether Sharon is fit to be a mother. Sharon and Chris talk at Gina's. Later, Chris spots Al arrive at the restaurant and sit with Alice. Nina mentions to Ryan the phone call from Megan in which she confessed that she had a hangover from drinking too much. Ryan warns Jill that she's going to lose her job if she continues acting the way she is at work. Cory reports to Neil, Nikki and later Victoria that Victor is still missing but the search for him continues. Ashley talks with Brad about the situation at Newman and Brad assures her that Jack and Diane are in love.

Spotting a gas leak on the ground under the truck and the fuel line disconnected, Victor confronts Chat and demands to know what is going on. Mac returns to Kay's house and Esther reveals that she doesn't know where Mrs. chancellor is. Jill confronts Mac and demands some answers before offering her money to tell her where Kay is. Mac insists that she has never met the woman. Sharon tells Nikki that Ted the social worker is with Cassie right now. She complains that Grace showed up and it was obvious to her that Grace is more natural with Cassie. Kay explains to Birdie that she was an alcoholic like her and it caused her to lose her husband. Birdie confesses that she has no one to lose.

Grace is shocked to learn from Sharon that Alice was given visitation rights during the custody hearing. The social worker arrives and questions Cassie about her living arrangements. She wants to tell the judge that she only wants to live with her mother Sharon. Mac relates to Kay that the woman who answered the door to her grandmother's place was a real "bitch" and adds that she's not sure her grandmother knows that she has a grandchild. Jill talks with Nikki and guesses aloud that Nikki is in collusion with the teenager who visited her earlier at the estate. Kay spots a letter written to Birdie in which she's told her relatives don't want her around the children because of her problems.

Callie talks with Olivia and congratulates the surprised doctor on her new job. However, she also reveals that she knows she lied to Malcolm about how she got the job. She warns her that if she is not going to fight for her husband, then she is definitely interested in Malcolm. Chris visits with Mary and finds her very upset. Carl advises Paul that Mary has given up on them being together again. He announces that he is going back to Norfolk and to Ruth if she will have him. Paul asks him to keep in touch. Victoria realizes that Cole made good his promise and has packed his things and moved back home. He's at the Abbott house when Ashley's painting arrives from Spain. Victoria is surprised when Rafael enters the tack room.

Olivia confides to Neil that while she's tried to make things work with Malcolm, she can't do it anymore. She starts to cry and asks him to forgive her for relying on him so much. As the two are about to kiss, Neil suddenly pulls back and leaves. Later, Malcolm comes home to find a romantic setting waiting for him. Carl arrives to talk with Mary and is greeted with a kiss. She apologizes for the show of emotion. He asks to go through the photo album with her again and adds that he is not ready to give up on remembering his past. Meeting with Ryan, Nina gossips that she interrupted an intense moment between Tony and Megan. Nina is curious when she learns that Megan went to Florida with Tony and laughingly calls Ryan "Megan's sex guru."

Michael advises an upset Alice that she can file for an immediate annulment to end her problem with Al. When Al tries to plead his case to her, she announces that they should have thrown the key away when he was locked up. When Michael reveals that Sharon has been granted temporary custody, Grace hugs him and mentions that she has nothing to be worried about knowing that he is on her side. Neil learns that Olivia asked for the new job at the hospital and the resulting longer hours. Victoria angrily asks Brad if he's going to ruin every friendship he's developed over the years just to get ahead at Newman. He ignores her snippy remark but she warns him that his success is not going to last long. Malcolm is surprised to see Callie at Gina's.

Al takes the stand and talks about his plans for a happy future with Alice and Cassie. Chris confronts him with his record of trying to expose himself to an 11 year old. Al gets indignant and calls it a frame-up. Alice angrily orders him to get out of her life and he is withdrawn as a witness. Nick is the next to take the stand and tells the judge that he is Cassie's father in every way today, calling Sharon a loving mother to both of their children. The judge rules that for the next three weeks, Cassie is to remain at the ranch but Alice is allowed private visits. Joe gives Tony cash and a cell phone for his trip to Florida. After he leaves, Joe makes a call and announces that Tony has left and doesn't suspect a thing. Meanwhile, someone follows Tony and Megan as they go on their trip.

Sharon takes the stand and describes how Cassie acted when she first found her. She insists to the judge that Cassie is her daughter but the judge reminds her that he will determine who Cassie belongs to. Alice is next to take the stand. She insists that while she was away from her daughter and her mother's place, she did call all the time to check up on her. She then boasts to the judge that Cassie will have a real family since she and her boyfriend Al are newly married. Megan asks Tricia to keep quiet to her father about her trip to Florida with Tony. Jack assures a worried Brad that he will convince Ashley that they did the right thing where the takeover is concerned and urges him not to panic.

Michael assures Alice that he does not want it to seem that he is pressuring her to marry Al. However, he does point out how the court will look at them if they are living together. Nick~ talks with some of his father's friends and they all offer to send their planes to search the New Mexican desert for Victor. Chris talks with Tony about what it was like when they first found Cassie at Millie's. Chris then prepares Al's prison record for a court presentation but wishes to Paul that Nick~ would show up in order to demonstrate a stable home environment for Cassie. The two are shocked to learn that Michael is Alice' s something is amiss. A policeman advises Jill that there has been no word on the missing Kay.
