When she wakes from a terrible nightmare, Cassie is happy when both Sharon and Nick tuck her in. Jill updates Nikici on all that Brad and JacNc have been doing at Newman Enterprises and stuns her with the news that Victor is no longer in charge of the company. Brad and JacNc are. An angry Nikki interrupts Brad and Ashley and calls him a lying, back-stabbing traitor. She vows to make him pay dearly for what he has done. When Ashley demands some answers, Brad explains that Victor misused company funds and was ousted as CEO. Victoria visits with Cole and offers him advice on how to handle Ashley's relationship with Rafael. She also wonders aloud if Ashley has ruined their marriage but an upset Cole escorts her out.

Visiting her in Madison, Michael advises Alice what she'll face if she goes to court to get Cassie back. After asking why she abandoned the girl and left her mother in charge, Michael is stunned to learn that Chris is handling Sharon's case. NIck and Sharon worry when they see how upset Cassie is over her future. They hear her moan in her sleep, pleading not to be taken back to Alice. Victor hobbles around Chet's cabin and dines on armadillo soup. Admitting that he was trying to test her as she was him, Jack opts not to move in with Diane into Victor's old apartment but Diane does agree to move home with Jack. John talks with Jill about the missing Kay. Esther watches an old video on TV and spots Jill's maid Shirley playing a knife-weilding killer.

Chris urges Sharon to warm up to Nick; especially since they both need each other now. Paul tells them about the plane crash which causes Sharon to leave. At home Sharon comforts Nick who blames Jack and Brad for what has happened. Victor is in excruciating pain as Chet sets his broken leg. Chet then reveals that he has no transportation available and a storm is brewing so they are stuck inside his shack. The nurse taking care of Alice's mother demands that Alice pay her now or she will leave Millie with her. Alice hands her Millie's Social Security money that she intended to pay to her attorney. Paul orders his operative to watch Alice's house for the next 24 hours in hopes of finding Millie. Michael kisses Grace and assures her that he cares about her.

At the coffeehouse, Nina reminisces back to the time when she was a young mother and asked Chris to move in with her. Nina's boyfriend Brett asks her to help out by being an assistant coach for Phillip's little league team. Later, she spots Tricia in the coffeehouse and asks her when Ryan's coming back to town. Tricia joins Megan and Tony and apologizes to him. He admits that he cares about Megan but also doesn't want to hurt her. Jill decides to try to seduce Jack to make him see that Diane is not good enough for him because she still loves victor but he's not interested. Nikki is shocked to hear that Victor's plane crashed. Nick receives a call that they found only the pilot's body in the airplane wreckage. However, they also noticed some footprints leading away from the plane.

Nick moves into his father's office at Newman Enterprises and packs up Jack and Brad's things. Jill arrives at Diane's place and finds Jack there with Diane wearing only her lingerie. She warns Diane that Jack is engaged to her only for her seat on the board. In spite of Jill's claims, Jack insists to Diane that his feelings for her are real. Nikki returns home. Paul updates Nick and Neil that the DEA tracked a small plane over the border and that the wreckage from a plane crash has been found. Victoria eavesdrops on Rafael and Ashley. As they talk, the men arrive to pack the painting for the trip to Genoa City and Rafael insists that the painting will always be part of his life.

Alice complains to her mother about having to put up with her. She announces that she is not allowed to use the phone and warns that the doors are locked every night. Alice then orders her to sign over her Social Security checks to her. Grace confides to Michael her fear that she could lose her job at Newman because of Alice. After she confirms that Alice brought the police to the ranch to try to get Cassie back, she pleads with him to take Alice as a client and lose the case. When Paul stops by the house again posing as a nursing home worker, Al gives him the runaround when he asks about Millie. Alice returns home and orders Paul to get out. She shows him the Social Security checks that have been signed as proof that Millie is okay.

Nick talks about Cassie to Chris and Paul. They explain how Millie tried to keep Cassie away from her daughter. Nick asks them to find Millie no matter what it takes. Al updates Grace on how Alice brought a cop with her when she confronted Sharon at the ranch. Alice calls a few lawyers and learns that each attorney needs $2,000 to handle her case. Al suggests she go back to Michael since he hasn't asked her for any money. Kay is asked to pitch in and work at the homeless shelter. When her coat falls to the floor, Ned picks it up and finds her rings hidden in her gloves. Esther finally files a missing persons report on Kay. Megan's surprised when Tony answers the door wearing only a towel and calling out the name "Sally."

Sharon explains everything to a worried Cassie about Grace, Alice and how she and Nick will fight to keep her with them. When Sharon asks where she wants to live, Cassie assures her mother that she doesn' t want to see or talk with Alice. Traci explains to her brother that she is not going to sign the paper if he's simply trying to hurt Victor. She asks him for more time to consider what to do. Grace assures Brad that if they need her to testify against victor, she is ready and willing to do so. Jack sends Brad to Gina's to talk with Traci and convince her to sign the paper. When he does so, he acts surprised to run into her. when she mentions the document her brother wants her to sign, Brad claims that it is time that victor move out and let him and Jack run the company.

Neil hears from Malcolm that Olivia went to work with a smile on her face. He urges his brother to take things slowly with Olivia. At the hospital, he talks with Olivia and encourages her to get back together with her husband but Olivia admits she can't trust Malcolm. Traci arrives at Jack's office with the legal papers signed by their father. Admitting that she hasn't signed her own document, Traci explains that she feels she can't honestly say that victor is incompetent. Jack tries to convince her by revealing victor's deal with Brooke and the offer of $200 million. Al is upset when Alice reveals that she told Michael and Grace to "go to hell."

Jill guesses that Kay is hiding out with Nikki and stops by the ranch to confront her. Nick informs Jill that his mother is still on the islands and Kay is definitely not staying there. Worried, Jill returns home and questions Esther who she guesses may have planned this scheme with Kay. A worried Esther insists that she doesn't know where Kay is. At the shelter, Ellen tries to talk with Kay. Kay insists that she is alone and homeless and wants to be left alone. Chris talks with Paul and he wonders who let Alice know where Sharon is. Victoria learns that Ashley has a few more days to wrap things up in Madrid. Cole explains to Victoria that her presence is not helping matters as he is trying to move on with his life with Ashley.

Victoria visits Rafael at his place and allows him to sketch her. She agrees to see him again before she returns to America. She then stops by to see Cole and asks him if he has heard from Ashley. Fed up with her inquisitiveness, Cole calls her a jealous teenager. He's surprised when he receives a telegram from Ashley. In the streets, Kay warms herself by a fire in a barrel. She's approached by a street woman who offers her some warm shoes to wear. However, the woman then tries to steal Kay's fur coat by pushing her down to the ground. Kay then enters a homeless shelter where she settles down and hides her rings. A man named Ned helps stop the bleeding from the cut on her head but she refuses to say who she is or where she is from.

Hearing her sister yelling "no" in Tony's apartment, Tricia bangs on the door. Megan assures her sister that she is fine and that nothing happened. A disturbed Tony leaves and heads for work. There, Tony tells his boss that if he has another car to be picked up in Florida, he's ready and anxious to go. Megan assures her sister that she doesn' t need a babysitter. Megan then runs to confront Tony at work. He's furious that Tricia thinks he might have hurt her. Shirley boasts to Jill that her plan has worked and Kay is no longer in the house. Jack asks Jill to get over what happened and join the winning team at Newman. After cleaning the broken mirror, Esther finds a shard of glass with blood on it. As Esther cries, Shirley and Jill worry about what might have happened to Kay.

At the coffeehouse, Grace asks Sharon about Cassie. After watching Grace through the window, Alice learns from the owner of the coffeehouse that Sharon is a Newman. Alice quickly runs to the police and shows up at Sharon's door with an officer, demanding her daughter back. Grace suggests to Tricia that she does have a right to worry if she's talking about Tony. Tony's upset at Megan for stopping by the garage where he works. She ignores his complaining and assures him that she's not like Grace and likes him just the way he is. The two then kiss passionately. Tricia approaches Tony's apartment and hears Megan telling Tony to stop. Malcolm announces to Olivia that if she truly cares about their little boy, she'll let him move back home.

Revealing that he's been trying to reach Victoria in Europe to get her vote back in town in time, Nick thanks Jill and Neil for the support they've been giving his father. He accuses Jack of using him and admits he's ashamed for what Jack has done. He also boasts that he's contacted his father who is on his way back to town. Diane arrives and assures Jack that she trusts him. During a later meting, Victor is ousted and Jack and Brad are voted in as CEO's, with Diane's vote breaking the tie. Tricia pushes Megan to consider dating Bryce, a man from her past but Megan's not interested. Tony questions his boss Joe about the car he brought back from Florida but gets the runaround. Malcolm stops at home for more clothes and runs into Nate who mistakenly believes that he is coming back home to stay.

While kissing under the stars, victor and Nikici are interrupted by the arrival of a messenger with Nick's frantic message. Meanwhile, JacNc calls for the Newman jet to return to Genoa City in hopes this will give him a little more time. Jack then dines with Diane at Gina's and plays innocent when she asks if he is using her. He surprises her with an engagement ring which causes her to apologize for her doubts. Victor's upset when he learns that the jet has returned to the mainland. He decides to leave Nikki there and takes a small plane to the main island, assuring Nikki. he will return soon. Nick complains to Sharon about what JacNc and Brad are trying to do to his father.
