Nikki learns from Sharon that nothing has changed her mind about moving out Cassie returns home all excited about winning first place in the best Halloween costume contest at school. Chris talks with Sharon and notices how close Cassie has become. Chris then calls Millie and gives her a P.O. Box number where she can send mail without allowing her daughter to know her address. The two agree that they must protect Cassie. Alice comments to Millie that she wishes she could find and marry a powerful and rich man like Victor Newman. Cole explains to Nikki that he is moving out of the tack room. She's surprised when he leaks that Victoria is moving off the ranch as well.

Nina picks up Phillip from Tricia and is astounded to learn that Ryan's been out of town on business most of the time Phillip was with them. When Ryan returns from the trip to Denver, Tricia admits her concern that he'll be upset with her because Phillip had such a lousy time. She assures him that she did her best and is perturbed to find him worrying about Nina. When he stops by to talk with Nina, he faces her wrath. He tells her that Tricia deserves a break from the badmouthing and her respect for all she did to help their son. Jack is amazed to learn from Jill that Kay has been ordered out of the mansion and that Jill's hired a detective to watch the place because she doesn't trust Kay.

Sharon explains to a worried Victor that what is going on between her and Nick is really none of his business. She adds that she has no other choice but to leave the ranch tomorrow with the children. Jack congratulates Nick on the great job he did at the conference He sends him packing and states that he and Neil will handle the rest of it. Nick confides to Grace that he does regret what happened between them. When Tony explains the latest turn in his relationship, Megan guesses that Grace is using him. Grace calls Nick and tells him that she loves him and expresses her hope to see him soon. Jill continues to worry about what is going on inside the Chancellor estate. Meanwhile, Kay confides to Esther that she is afraid that she will lose her home.

Olivia examines Victoria who has been complaining about a small pain. After looking at an ultrasound, Olivia tells Victoria that she'd like to admit her into the hospital. Victor arrives at the conference in Colorado and overhears Nick screaming at Grace during a terrible argument. He reminds his son that he represents Newman Enterprises. Paul gives Chris a massage and imagines how happy his mother would be to see her husband return. Later, Chris secretly books a flight to Virginia. A frustrated Kay approaches Nikki for the name of an attorney who is willing to do anything to win her case. An angry Jill warns John that she is going to hire a private detective to keep an eye on the mansion. John warns her that Kay will resent such a thing.

Victor calls Nick to explain that he, Jack and Neil will be in Denver soon to meet with him. Victor's pleased to hear that Neil has offered to marry Victoria. Jack reassures Neil that Brad will not be returning back to the company if he has anything to say about it. Sharon reveals to a shaken Tony that she is leaving Nick because she overheard that Grace and Nick hopped into the sack during their business trip. Cole comments to Victoria his feeling that Neil is a good man, one who will make her happy. When he mentions his decision to leave the ranch, Ashley suggests to Cole that they turn their room over the garage into an office. As court continues, Esther takes the stand and testifies that she was cooking vegetables on the stove when the fire started.

Olivia learns from Callie that Malcolm's good luck charm was a gift from her a long time ago. Later, Olivia confides to Gina that she doesn't mind if Callie stays on at the restaurant. Callie's manager confronts Gina about Callie's singing at the restaurant but Gina reveals that she's not paying her for her singing. Jack encourages Brad to get back on the payroll at Newman Enterprises so that their plan can work. Brad explains to victor later that he'd like to come back to work because he learns so much from him. Paul assures Chris that his father would have liked her. Olivia ask Paul to step up the investigation into Callie's past. Neil surprises Victoria with a key to his apartment.

Updating her on what happened to his wife, Nick warns Grace to stay away from his wife. He calls the hospital and finds that Sharon has already been released. Sharon flies home and finds Cassie waiting with a "welcome home" sign for her mother and father. She asks her mother where Nick is. When Nick calls, Sharon claims that she needed to be home and didn't want to wait any longer. After she hangs up, Sharon paces the floor in a daze. Neil learns that Victor is back living with Niki and is happy that Victoria will be able to move in with him once the bedroom is redecorated. Ryan is forced to fly to Denver on business to meet with Nick and leaves Tricia to take care of Phillip.

Sharon is hit by a car as she mindlessly wanders the streets. She's rushed to the hospital and while the E.R. staff works on her broken ribs, dislocated shoulder and bruises, someone calls Nick when he arrives, Sharon pulls her hand away from Nick's and decides not to talk to him. The doctor orders Nick out of her room so that Sharon can rest. Victoria explains to Neil that they will move in together once her father straightens out his own living situation. Olivia joins them at Gina's. Gina allows Callie to be a waitress but then surprises her later when she announces her as tonight's singing entertainment. Callie's manager receives a phone call from an associate who reports that Callie is singing tonight at Gina's.

Jim worries Ruth when he mentions his desire to vacation in Wisconsin with her once he gets some time off from his new job Michael advises Diane about her living situation. When Victor returns home, Diane bites her tongue and acts as his wife again He suggests that they go upstairs and take a nap together Instead, the two have drinks together. Jack argues with Brad about his plans to fool Victor. Brad claims that it was Jack's entrance that spoiled his scheme to be hired. Paul assures Cris that he understands her desire to uncover what she can about his father because she wants to start their own family. Rocked by the news about Grace and Nick's affair, Sharon quietly leaves the hotel and walks the streets in a daze, wondering what could have gone wrong in her marriage.

Sharon calls her mother to report that things are fine with her and Nick and couldn't be any better. Meanwhile, Nick infuriates Grace when he claims that their lovemaking was a mistake. Blaming it on the stress from the business trip, he calls it the worst mistake of their lives. Sharon returns to the room early and overhears Grace talking to Nick about making love to him. Over drinks at Gina's, Nikki admits to Brad she doubts that Victor would hire him back at Newman Enterprises. Brad later assures Jack that he did not sabotage their plans in any way and was only trying to get a job from Victor. Mary suggests to Paul that Chris is asking questions about Carl because she wants to start a family.

Paul becomes upset when Chris asks whether Carl left the family because of problems in his marriage. He pleads with her to leave the matter alone because it hurts too much. Ruth calls Chris and insists that she knows nothing about the man she's looking for. Claiming to have figured her out years ago, Malcolm orders Callie to pack her things and leave Genoa City. Jim questions Ruth why she called him by the name "Carl." She lies and insists it was a slip, adding that her first husbnad was named Carl. Nikki runs into Brad at Gina's place and is surprised to hear he's looking for work at Victor's company. Victor boasts to Diane that though she fell asleep last night, he intends to make up for it in bed with her tonight.

Grace and Nick make love in the Colorado hotel room. Afterwards, he wakes and feels guilty over what he has done. When Sharon arrives and decides to surprise him in the shower, he surprises her first and sends her into the bathroom so that Grace can slip back to her own hotel room. Grace fumes as she leaves, upset that they didn't tell Sharon they're in love. Nikki tries to reassure Kay that no one could possibly believe that she could set fire to her house just to spite Jill. Ryan refuses to testify for Jill about Kay's comments at the party and tells her that he is disgusted with her. John is fed up with Jill too. She pleads with him not to quit her case.

Ruth calls Chris and tries to find out who she is working for in hopes of learning more about Jim. When Chris starts asking her own questions, Ruth decides to hang up. Jack interrupts Brad' discussion with Victor and signals to Brad his concern that he's going to spill the beans and ruin their plan. Victor boasts to Brad later that he doesn't have a chance in the world of coming to work for him again. Jack then stops for a drink and runs into Phyllis who shares a conversation with him about traitors. At the coffeehouse Megan talks with Tony who apologizes for what happened. She congratulates him on his engagement. Ryan assures Nina that Phillip can spend the weekend with him. Mary and Charlie stop by to visit with Paul and Chris.

Jill explains to JacNc her feeling that it was Kay who set the house on fire and she fears that Kay is capable of worse. Jack's upset later when he eavesdrops and overhears Brad in victor's office. Grace is encouraged to hear from Nick that his son is sick and Sharon is still in Genoa City. Sharon is worried when the doctor reveals that Noah's temperature is now up to 104 degrees. Ee advises her to let the fever run its course. When both Nikici" and Doris encourage her to go to Colorado anyway and allow them to take care of Noah, Sharon can't believe that they would suggest such a thing. She calls Nick and gives him an update. upset that she's not coming, Nick reminds her that he has needs too and blasts her for not making him first in her life.
