Due to the Memorial Day holiday, there will be no summary of "Sunset Beach" on Monday, May 31. An excited Maria tells Ben and Tess how the nanny's use of the phrase "right as rain" gave her a fragment of a memory from her years in Seattle. Later, when Benjy introduces his mother to his new kitten, Maria recalls the name "Franklin" as the street where they used to live. Tyus reveals to a stunned Gregory, A.J. and Olivia that Francesca was not actually dead following the final code blue in her hospital room. Sara again bitterly accuses Meg of running into Casey's arms every time her feelings get hurt. Determined to get to the bottom of Tyus' cryptic remark, A.J. and Gregory snoop through his files and discover that the good doctor has been busy paying off some rather large gambling debts. Carmen urges Antonio to believe that he's better off without Gabi in his life.

Caitlin explains to Annie why her father hired some new security personnel to guard the house. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Gregory confronts Tyus after noting some glaring omissions in Francesca's autopsy report. Although the doctor attempts to stonewall, Gregory and A.J. doggedly pressure him for the truth. Ricardo's wedding grinds to a halt yet again when Gabi suddenly blurts out that she can't go through with the ceremony and bolts from the chapel in a blur of white. After Ricardo follows his runaway bride out the door, Antonio informs the befuddled guests that he doesn't believe a wedding will take place today. Carmen concocts an excuse when Maria wonders what brought her to the Mission. Emily confides to Bette how Sean seems gun-shy about committing to a relationship after watching his parent's and his sister's marriages fall apart.

As Ricardo waits patiently for his uneasy bride to repeat her vows, Carmen waves the photo at Gabi from her hiding place. Caitlin shakily informs her father she thought she saw Francesca standing outside her window. Annie and Cole again put their heads together in an effort to prove that Olivia murdered Francesca. As the wedding guests gasp in dismay, Gabi faints into Ricardo's arms and has to be carried from the chapel. Alone with her betrothed, Gabi entreats Ricardo to run off with her and elope. During the unscheduled delay in the proceedings, Casey assures Sara that his concern for her sister is nothing but a natural show of support from a friend. Ricardo reminds Gabi that they have a church full of friends and family waiting to see them get hitched. Gregory finally agrees to help her obtain a copy of the autopsy report. Carmen issues yet another ominous warning to Gabi, but the young woman returns to the altar to take another stab at completing her wedding vows.

Gregory urges his daughter to recant her confession and stop protecting the wretch who betrayed her with her own mother. Carmen feels confident that both of her sons are safe now that she's run Sunset Beach's biggest tramp out of town. Meanwhile, Gabi has a change of heart and marches down the aisle to link arms with a relieved Ricardo. Caitlin accuses Gregory of trying to scare her into throwing Cole to the wolves. A.J. attempts to calm Olivia but she continues to insist that Francesca is alive and out to get her. Startled to hear Antonio intoning the first part of the wedding ceremony, Carmen peeks into the chapel and is outraged to see Gabi standing at the altar. Bette's biblical blooper gives several members of the wedding party a moment of panic but the ceremony soon gets back on track.

An obviously rattled Tyus balks at showing A.J. and Olivia the autopsy report on Francesca. Though they persist with their request, the doctor refuses to hand over the document they need. An unseen and uninvited guest rifles through Olivia's living room desk. Meg icily informs Maria she isn't moving out of Ben's house but just taking a few days away from it all. An enraged Carmen confronts Gabi with the picture of her in Antonio's arms. Tearfully blurting out that she believed they were about to die, Gabi tries to defend herself but Carmen orders her to leave Sunset Beach at once. Meanwhile, Ricardo and Antonio share an emotional moment of brotherly bonding as they wait for the wedding to begin. Still unsure if a wedding is actually going to takes place, Vanessa, Maria and Meg hesitantly start down the aisle.

As Caitlin returns home, Gregory promises his daughter she'll soon be completely off the hook for Francesca's murder. Meanwhile, A.J. tries to convince an hysterical Olivia that she's mistaken about Francesca still being alive. Though Meg lashes out at her, Sara bitterly refuses to retract her remarks about Casey being in love with her sister. Carmen slips into the bride's room and hands Gabi an envelope. Ricardo confides to his siblings his concern that their mother will try to stop the wedding. Facing off with Annie yet again, Gregory icily informs his fuming wife that he cares more about Spike the dog than he does about her. Later, Gregory accuses Annie of breaching his security safeguards at the office. Gabi is relieved to think that her future mother-in-law has had a change of heart and has come to make peace.

Annie confidently assumes she's finally about to get the goods on Olivia and expose her as a murderer. As Maria, Antonio and Gabi look on, a tearful Carmen tries to reveal the terrible secret to Ricardo but realizes at the last minute that she cannot cause a rift between her sons. Bette begins to wonder why Olivia practically jumps out of her skin every time the phone rings. Sara icily advises Meg to turn to her own fiancee for comfort once in a while instead of always running to Casey with her troubles. Gregory promises his delighted daughter he's working to overturn her confession and should have her home with Trey before. Denying that she's made any crank calls to Olivia, Annie bitterly suggests to Bette that she owes her niece some family loyalty.

Gabi awakens gasping from a nightmare about Ricardo discovering her secret and furiously labeling her a whore as they stand in front of the altar. Heartbroken to learn the truth about Gabi's lover, Carmen wonders what to do with the terrible information she's acquired. Gabi's housemates surprise her with a special breakfast at Surf Central as her wedding day dawns. Sara tearfully confides to her father her fear that Casey has romantic feelings for Meg. Meg tells Ben she needs to spend a few days away from him and all the stress which has built up in recent months. Annie tries to reassure a worried Maria that she's too good a person to have committed any horrible sins while she was living in Seattle with Tess and Benjy. Gabi is rattled by another superstition when a "bouquet of death" arrives from some unknown admirer.

Meg angrily reminds Sara she wants nothing more to do with her. Though Ricardo protests at being locked up in his own jail, the arresting officer turns a deaf ear to his complaints. Carmen manages to prevent Ben from watching the videotape Maria sent home from the wedding rehearsal. A tearful Gabi tells Antonio she loves his brother and wants to spend the rest of her life honoring the devotion Ricardo has showered on her. Afterwards, Gabi and Antonio share an emotional farewell embrace. A grinning Vanessa finally persuades the female cop to drop all charges against the bachelor party participants. When Sara adamantly refuses to apologize for her meddling, Meg storms out of Surf Central just as Casey returns home. Later, annoyed to find Ben comforting Maria, Meg rips into her boyfriend for constantly playing white Knight for his ex-wife.

Meg tells Ben she fears his son will never accept her no matter how hard she tries to win his approval. Rattled by Mrs. Moreau's remarks, Maria turns to Tess for answers. Ricardo admits to Gabi that she was the reason he quarreled so bitterly with his mother. Meanwhile, a fuming Antonio confronts Carmen and berates her for resurrecting her vicious vendetta against Gabi. Maria hosts a bridal shower for her future sister-in-law but is unable to join in on the teasing as the guests kid Gabi about her wedding night. Ben promises Benjy they'll adopt a kitten for him at the animal shelter the next day. Stung when the boy describes himself as a homeless stray, Ben promises Benjy he will never be without his parents again.

Hearing Maria screaming from Mrs. Moreau's apartment, Ben kicks down the door and rushes to her side. A tearful Benjy whines to Tess about Meg being mean to him yet again. Cole and Annie view the CD-ROM and are astonished to see Olivia holding a gun on Francesca. Carmen tries to convince her son that she has concrete proof of his fiancee's deception. Guessing that his mother has resumed her vendetta, a furious Ricardo informs Carmen he has no choice but to cut her out of his life. Cole sees red after Annie accidentally deletes the file from Gregory's CD-ROM. Gabi frets that Antonio will be unable to perform her wedding ceremony because of his tormented conscience. Irked to learn that Tess and Tim are dating, Meg accuses her former flame of using the nanny to drive another wedge between her and Ben.

Cole muses over the list of likely suspects in Francesca y murder and wonders which of them hated her the most. Carmen finds the video in Gabi's purse and shows it to Ricardo, who guesses that his girlfriend removed it from the pile of evidence in order to do some extracurricular but highly unauthorized sleuthing. Olivia and A.J. are stunned when Gregory gloats about the clever way he maneuvered them into breaking off their relationship.

An irritated Meg orders Sara to stop meddling in her life. Recalling her mother's ominous warning about the dangers of dabbling in black magic, Maria nervously enters Mrs. Moreau's apartment. Tess angrily informs Ben she has no intention of leaving Benjy behind. Annoyed to learn how his girlfriend has been interfering in her sister's private life yet again, Casey warns Sara he's getting tired of the way she constantly breaks her promises to him. Although sorely tempted to succumb to Michael's embrace, Vanessa pulls back and suggests they wait until he's truly ready to forgive her completely for past transgressions. Antonio convinces a weakened Ricardo to return to the hospital to finish his recuperation. Meanwhile, Gabi slips the blackmail videotape into her purse.
