Cole finds Caitlin pushing Trey through the park in his stroller. Driving by the park in his limousine, Gregory is incensed to spot Caitlin allowing Cole to cuddle Trey. Gabi reacts oddly when Maria volunteers to organize a bridal shower for her future sister-in-law. Olivia turns the tables on A.J., suggesting he would have done anything--including murder--to keep Francesca away from Cole.

Gabi and Antonio are rattled to find Spencer sorting through the box of videotapes the police removed from Francesca 5 hotel room. Annie enjoys giving Vanessa the scoop about ColeÕs arrest. Meanwhile, A.J. visits his son's jail cell and wonders aloud if Cole had a hand in Francesca's untimely demise. After sending Spencer off on a wild goose chase, Antonio and Gabi pop the first tape into the VCR but Ricardo soon interrupts their private screening. Olivia realizes that Bette suspects her in the shooting. Cole reminds A.J. that he had more reason to knock Francesca off than most of the other residents of Sunset Beach. Vanessa suggests to an unnerved Annie that she could be trying to shift the burden of guilt onto another party in order to save her own hide. Gregory convinces Caitlin to join him in a custody battle against Olivia, then makes an unsubtle attempt to rekindle her waning ire towards Cole.

Ben tries to explain to Benjy why Meg is so important to him. Officers from the SBPD arrive with a warrant and orders to search the Richards house for any evidence linking Cole to Francesca's murder. Meanwhile, at the precinct house, Ricardo advises Cole to save everyone a lot of time and trouble by confessing to the crime. Tyus draws a blood sample from Benjy in anticipation of running a paternity test. A.J. decides to send Leo back to Europe for safekeeping while the police investigation widens. Gabi swears to Antonio she didn't shoot Francesca but tearfully admits she did find the con woman lying wounded on the floor of her hotel room. Annie icily reminds Sean that his holier- than-thou attitude won t fly with anyone because he is obviously an exact duplicate of his conniving father.

Tim intensifies his threats when Sara balks at helping him break Meg and Ben apart. Maria begs her mother to do a Tarot reading, then is rattled when Carmen turns over a card with a picture of a little boy. Ben icily informs Tess he won t use a child as a pawn but the nanny again presses him to agree to a simple paternity test. At the Resort, a quick-thinking Antonio distracts his brother long enough to give Gabi time to hide the box of videotapes. Michael and Jimmy share an emotional farewell as the boy prepares to go stay with relatives while Virginia remains confined at Cedar oaks. Gabi convinces Ricardo she was on the crime scene on official business. Carmen is thrilled to learn she might already have a grandson. Tess reminds Ben and Meg she would never hand Benjy over to anyone who wasn't his real parent.

Antonio has a nightmare about Francesca coming back from the grave to expose his affair with Gabi. Meanwhile, Gabi realizes she must get her hands on the videotape before Ricardo learns her terrible secret. Sara crawls into Casey's bed to surprise him with an early morning cuddle. After they make love, Sara happily assumes she's finally overcome the last obstacle standing in the way of a lasting relationship with her favorite lifeguard. At the Sock Wave, Hank tells an astonished Tim that Ben and Maria seem to have a young son neither one of them can remember. Determined to prove that Tess story is false, Ben demands additional evidence from the nanny. Tim orders Sara to help him pry Meg out of Ben's arms for good. Gabi cons her way into Francesca's hotel room and conducts a frantic search for the tape.

Tess reassures a shaken Maria that she will remember Benjy in time. A slip of Caitlin's lip makes Olivia, Cole and Bette wonder if she could have pulled the trigger. When her mother asks her directly if she shot Francesca, Caitlin admits she's hoping the woman will die but denies having had the pleasure of doing the deed herself. Leaning over Francesca's hospital bed, Annie contemplates pulling the plug on her hated enemy. Antonio finds Gabi on her knees in the chapel, tearfully praying for forgiveness. Though Antonio suggests that they both ease their guilty consciences by confessing to Ricardo how they made love, Gabi reminds the priest how an admission of that sin will move them both up to the top of the list of prime suspects in the shooting investigation. Cole and Gregory snarl at one another in the waiting room as tension and paranoia continue to mount.

Meg suggests to a skeptical Ben that his first wife might have engineered the sudden appearance of Benjy just to prevent their impending divorce. Meanwhile, Maria catches Tess alone and asks the nanny about their time in Seattle. Annie continues to loudly insist to anyone who will listen that Olivia tried to kill Francesca. Stunned by Francesca's accusation against Gabi, Antonio stonewalls when his brother questions him about his whispered conversation with the stricken woman. Tyus offers Vanessa a sympathetic shoulder in the wake of her miscarriage. Facing Sean's wrath, Annie spits out the story of how his "saintly" mother carried on a tawdry affair with Cole. Though Sean refuses to believe Annie's words, Caitlin confirms the sordid tale for her appalled brother.

Sara repeats to a skeptical Meg her suspicion that Maria is setting her up. Meanwhile, Ben and Maria gently question Benjy about his memories of his mother. Sean is stunned by the revelation that Trey is actually his baby brother. When Brad rants on about how perverse and disgusting the mother-daughter baby switch has been, an incensed Sean decks him with one punch. As Antonio tries to calm a struggling Francesca, Ricardo barges in and pulls his brother away. Olivia bitterly informs an appalled Bette how Annie kidnaped her child. A plaintive Benjy asks Maria why she went away when he needed her so much. Caitlin clams up when Cole questions her about the night of the shooting. As Antonio asks an uneasy Ricardo if he is a suspect, Francesca weakly requests that the priest hear her confession and forgive her sins.

Tess tells an incredulous Maria and Ben that Benjy is indeed their child. As Francesca collapses, Ricardo rushes forward and discovers the bullet wound in her abdomen. Aided by Antonio, Ricardo performs CPR while the others stand around secretly hoping Francesca will die. Tess explains to Ben how Benjy recognized him from a drawing Maria did years ago. Hank confides to Casey his fear that Meg's faith in Ben will once again prove to be misplaced. Tess relates for Ben, Meg and Maria how she became Benjy's nanny when he was just a few months old and living with his mom in Seattle. Francesca pulls through her surgery and whispers Antonio's name when Ricardo asks her to name her assailant.

Meg stares in shock as the little boy rushes to Ben, calling him "Daddy". Moments after Francesca falls wounded to the floor of her hotel room, a jittery Olivia and A.J. bump into one another in the lobby. Meanwhile, Annie nervously retreats to the Richards house, where she encounters a nearly catatonic Caitlin. Standing in her old studio, Maria wishes fervently for some way to save the marriage she's being forced to dissolve. Though Ben denies ever laying eyes on the small child who now clings to his leg, Tess insists she's come to reunite a father with the son he's never known. Francesca painfully makes her way out into the hall and gets swept up by a pack of drunken revelers on their way to a stag party. Brad and Amy find a child sitting alone in a locked car and recognize the toddler as Sean's "nephew".

Cole heads to Francesca's room under a full head of steam following the ugly scene with Caitlin. Meanwhile, Annie warns Francesca she'll never get her claws into Trey. As the hour for their elopement draws near, Meg happily daydreams about exchanging wedding vows with Ben at last. Though Antonio urges her to think about what she's doing, Gabi declares that she must stop Francesca blackmail threats at all costs. Francesca returns to her room and is accosted by a gun-wielding Cole. Certain Ben's true destiny is with Maria, Carmen tries to dissuade her daughter from going to the Dominican Republic. Annie tips Caitlin off to the fact that Francesca is plotting to run off with both Cole and Trey. Later, Francesca sneaks into the Richards nursery and makes off with Trey, sending Caitlin, Cole and Annie in hot pursuit.

Olivia promises Gregory she'll see to it that nobody finds out the truth about Trey's paternity. A seething Caitlin screeches at Cole, demanding to know if he slept with her. Annie urges Maria to fight for Ben instead of rolling over and playing dead for Meg. A guilt-stricken Cole suddenly confesses to Caitlin how he and Olivia carried on an affair. Tim realizes he'll have to move fast to prevent Meg from tying the knot with Ben. Sickened by her husband's admission of guilt, Caitlin rages at Cole and Olivia for their double betrayal.

Olivia pleads with Cole not to ruin all their lives by revealing their secret to her daughter. When Antonio asks what she intends to do with the gun he found, Gabi admits she considered eliminating the blackmail threat by rubbing Francesca out. After conning Caitlin into coming to her hotel room, Francesca gleefully drops the bombshell about Cole and Olivia's affair. Ricardo questions A.J. about his alleged attack on Francesca. Michael tells Vanessa he's still bothered by the way she lied to him about the baby. Ben introduces Meg to Francois, who shows the delighted bride-to-be an assortment of fashionable outfits for her trousseau. The mystery woman decides the time has come for a face-to-face encounter with Ben. After overhearing Bette mention how Cole's father nearly choked the life out of Sunset Beach's least favorite con woman, Ricardo places A.J. under arrest.

As he drowns his sorrows at a local watering hole, a miserable Cole mulls over the events of the last few months. Certain she's finally going to get her man, Francesca trails Cole to the bar. Olivia is forced to be tough with Caitlin to make her unhappy daughter face the difficult truth about Trey. Gregory reluctantly agrees not to press charges against Annie if she'll keep mum about Cole fathering Trey. Virginia escapes from her straitjacket and corners a trembling Vanessa.

Outraged by her rival's remarks, Meg goes on the attack but is quickly silenced when Maria explains that she won't sign the papers because she knows a faster way to obtain the divorce. Brandishing a letter opener, Caitlin advances on Annie with fire in her eyes. Summoned by a frantic Olivia, Cole and Gregory break down the door and try to persuade Caitlin to spare Annie's life. Desperate to prevent her blackmailer from showing the videotape to Ricardo, Gabi promises Francesca she'll get her the money somehow. Cole convinces Caitlin to surrender the letter opener by claiming that he still loves her dearly. Maria volunteers to fly to the Dominican Republic immediately for a quickie island divorce so Ben and Meg can be married the very next day and begin their honeymoon in Venice.

Antonio has a nightmare about officiating at his brother's marriage to Gabi and having Francesca interrupt the festivities with proof of the priests' sin. Hank bristles when Ben berates him for letting Tim hang around the Shock Wave. Tyus informs a triumphant Gregory that he is indeed Trey's father. Devastated, Cole flees with the baby in his arms. Still tied to the bed, Annie spits out to a stunned Caitlin that the baby she's been raising actually belongs to her own mother. Weeping, Olivia confirms Annie's story. Irked by Ben's attitude, Hank offers Tim a job. Francesca demands that Ricardo arrest A.J. for his nearly lethal attack. A troubled parishioner brings Antonio a shoe box stuffed with cash and asks him to keep it safe in the rectory. Joan plays peacemaker to try to put an end to Hank and Ben's squabbling.
