    Monday, Nov. 30, 1998

    Michael arranges a romantic surprise for Vanessa at The Resort. Antonio is flustered to catch sight of Gabi with her blouse off in the kitchen at Surf central. Meg thanks Ben for the wonderful weekend in Santa Barbara. Virginia threatens to blackmail a doctor with whom she's acquainted unless he helps her carry out the next phase of her plan. Ben believes Maria's memory is returning after she leaves a gardenia in his briefcase the way she used to do when they were married. Sara sheepishly admits to Joan how she made Maria cry when she came to her sister's defense. After making love, Vanessa and Michael discuss possible names for the baby and dreamily contemplate a happy future for their little family. Meanwhile, Virginia pressures her latest victim to follow orders or risk losing his lucrative medical practice.

    Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998

    Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no summary of "Sunset Beach" on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27. A beaming Vanessa breaks her exciting news to Meg. Meanwhile, Virginia wonders how to disabuse Michael of his ecstatic belief that he is the father of his fiancee's unborn child. When Hank and Joan decide to host Thanksgiving dinner for the whole family, an irritated Meg guesses that they're simply trying to avoid handling a certain problem named Maria. Across town, Sara rips into Maria for deliberately hurting her sister. Ben is troubled by a new dream about the night his first wife nearly drowned. Virginia makes sure Tyus quickly gets a news flash about Vanessa's pregnancy. Certain Michael was rendered sterile by his bout with Martin's Syndrome, Tyus guesses that the child is really his.

    Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998

    Caitlin and Annie are stunned to realize that the anonymous caller really does know the sordid facts behind Trey's true parentage. Francesca reminds Cole that she can't return the rest of the gems to Rosario until they locate the missing emerald. Maria explains to the puzzled private eye why she wants him to investigate her own past. Certain Annie let the cat out of the bag, a hysterical Caitlin begins throttling her stepmother. A.J. researches the Rosario jewels and is alarmed to realize that the legend could be true.

    Monday, Nov. 23, 1998

    While Amy continues chanting, Sean watches in dismay as Emily gasps for breath. Caitlin's anonymous tormentor warns her that she's going to pay dearly to keep her secret intact. Maria guesses that Meg is miffed about Ben acting in such a solicitous manner towards his first wife. After using her inhaler, Emily explains to a worried Sean that she suffers from asthma. Brad warns Amy that her desperation is showing, then advises her to cease her pathetic mooning over a boy who wants nothing more to do with her. Annie suggests to an agitated Caitlin that the caller is just a prankster dialing her number at random. Bette scoffs at Amy's claim that she's turned her life around and no longer plots against the people she perceives as enemies. Meg taunts Annie about taking her best friend away from her.

    Friday, Nov. 20, 1998

    Gregory icily informs Annie he's not interested in her offer to help him break apart his daughter's marriage because he can't trust her. Rattled by a phone call from someone vowing to expose her secret, Caitlin suspects that Annie had a hand in the anonymous threat. After a beaming Emily accepts her gift, Amy surreptitiously practices chanting a curse to call down upon her rival. Gabi jumps to another wrong conclusion about Antonio's obvious uneasiness every time they're alone together. Sean commends Amy for turning her life around and finally learning how to be a real friend. Gabi adds to Antonio's burden of guilt by apologizing for compromising his high principle with the appearance of impropriety. Cole and Francesca trade theories about the supernatural power of the Rasario jewels.

    Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998

    A.J. rails at Ricardo for detaining Cole overnight to interrogate him about Hillary's murder. Meanwhile, Gregory urges his irritated daughter not to stand behind her criminal husband. As she reads through her father's book, Amy hits upon the idea of using the cursed Rosario jewels to eliminate her rival for Sean's affection. Olivia tells Cole she believes Hillary was dead long before the bullet hit her. Annie threatens to expose Caitlin's secret. Fixated on his longing for Gabi, Antonio overdoes it during his workout at the gym and pulls a muscle in his back. Olivia agrees to keep mum about the incident on the docks, but only if Cole cancels his plan to move Caitlin and Trey out of Sunset Beach. Though tests indicate that the bloodstained clothes were indeed Hillary's, Ricardo is forced to release Cole for lack of evidence.

    Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998

    Tim discovers the mummified remains of Hillary. Ricardo questions Caitlin and Cole where Hillary is. As they try to evade his questions, Tim bursts in and boasts that he's found the body of a dead woman. However, when they return to the scene of the crime, the mummy is gone. However, Ricardo does find Hillary's blood-stained shirt and her driver's license. Ricardo returns to the station house and announces that he has a witness who can place Cole at the scene where a gunshot was heard. He orders Cole to be held overnight for questioning. Maria suffers a nightmare in which she drowns. Ben and Meg begin to make love but are interrupted by Maria's scream in the night. They race to her room where a shaken Maria tells Ben that she remembers being in the water with him.

    Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1998

    Cole manages to save Caitlin from Hillary's bomb but is hurt himself by the explosion. The police bring them back to the station house where they are questioned about the kidnapping and the bomb. Before they talk, Cole suggests to his wife that the police do not have to know about his connection to Hillary and the stolen jewels. She agrees but Olivia arrives with knowledge about what happened and Cole fears she'll ruin everything. Meanwhile, Amy and Brad find the missing jewels in the sand. Amy takes the jewels and compares them to the ones pictured in the Rosario jewels photograph in her father's book. Amy continues to stew as she continues to watch Sean and Emily close together. Reading the book of curses, Amy discovers one that will supposedly give her the upper hand over her rivals.

    Monday, Nov. 16, 1998

    Hoping to save Caitlin's life, Cole hands a frantic Hillary a jewel and watches in amazement as she momentarily returns to her normal look. Francesca and Olivia interrupt which forces Hillary to pull her gun. Cole grabs the gun and during the fight, the gun discharges, shooting and killing Hillary. Francesca grab the gun and the jewels but is unaware that she has dropped an emerald. Cole races to find Caitlin while Francesca gets rid of the gun. Still in a state of shock, Olivia stares at Hillary's now-mummified body. She quickly hides when Amy and Brad arrive. Cole manages to find Caitlin but realizes the bomb is about to go off. When Maria asks what she and Ben were arguing about, Ben stops Meg from telling Maria what happened the night she was thought drowned.

    Friday, Nov. 13, 1998

    As Casey gives Meg a comforting hug, Tim whispers to Sara that she's on the verge of getting dumped. An impatient Maria demands from Annie the facts about the night she nearly drowned. At the airport, Olivia battles with Francesca until a security guard breaks up the brawl. Ben sheepishly explains to Dr. Estrada how he accused his wife of betraying him with his twin brother. Desperate to prevent Hillary from killing Caitlin, Cole talks fast to convince her that he's in possession of the Rosario jewels. Olivia finally snatches the gems away from Francesca but is horrified when they appear to turn into maggots in front of her very eyes. Sara fears Tim might be right when Casey elects to spend the morning with Meg. Annie tells Maria that she and Ben had a terrible fight on the night of the storm.

    Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998

    Hank warns Joan that the living arrangement at Ben's house is a disaster just waiting to happen. Hillary orders Cole to cooperate with her demands or run the risk of never seeing his wife again. Meg overhears Maria and Ben discussing her reaction to their sticky situation. THough Cole frantically tries to explain that he doesn't have any of the jewels, Hillary vows to kill Caitlin if she hasn't received the gems within one hour. Sara and Casey finalize plans for their first official date. Annie presses an irked Ricardo to arrest Cole for stealing her necklace. Later, Annie is astounded to learn that Maria is back under Ben's roof. Francesca shows her treasures to Sydney but the fence is horrified to see spiders instead of rubies and emeralds. Maria urges Ben to disclose what transpired on the night she supposedly died.

    Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1998

    Rattled when Michael catches her using a home pregnancy test kit, Virginia claims she's been seeing someone and had a false alarm after the relationship broke up. Gabi and Ricardo return to Surf Central just as Antonio explodes with anger at his mother~s troubling prophesy. Sara, Hank and Joan are startled to discover that Maria is now in residence under Ben and Meg's roof. Cole blames Olivia for Caitlin's sudden disappearance. Ben reassures Meg he's living for the day when they can really be a couple with no outside interference. Ricardo scolds Antonio for speaking to their mother so disrespectfully. Later, Ricardo bristles to learn about his sister's new living arrangements. An incensed Hank rails at Ben for inviting his first wife to move in. After Vanessa suffers another dizzy spell, Gabi suggests that she might be pregnant but her friend reveals that Michael is almost certainly sterile.

    Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998

    Cole furiously accuses Olivia of setting him up. Meanwhile, a seething Hillary corners Caitlin with a gun and orders her to return the gems. Virginia has to duck out of sight when Vanessa arrives and demands a word with "Agent Jones". On the 23rd anniversary of his marriage to Olivia, Gregory fantasizes about a romantic reconciliation with his ex. Though Olivia claims she was only trying to protect Trey, her slip of the lip convinces Cole his mother-in-law has become unnaturally attached to his infant son out of grief for the child she lost. Ricardo takes his brother to task for making Gabi feel so uncomfortable. Later, Antonio assures Gabi she has nothing to do with his desire to move back to the mission. A rapidly aging Hillary decides to take Caitlin hostage.

    Monday, Nov. 9, 1998

    Gabi is hurt to overhear Antonio telling the foreman conducting repairs on the mission that he must get out of Surf Central right away because he can no longer deal with one of his house-mates. Posing as a special agent for the FBI, Virginia pressures the personnel manager at the paper to obtain a urine sample from Vanessa for immediate drug testing. Sean explains to Bette how Nielsen's Halloween "prank" spooked Amy into leaving her house. Hillary decides to take Caitlin hostage to force Cole into returning the rubies he stole. Desperate to assure his wife that he hasn't been unfaithful, Cole reveals why he helped Francesca recover the jewels which rightfully belong to Rosaria's statue of the Madonna. Gabi tells Ricardo she fears his brother still hasn't forgiven her for the false accusations she once made.

    Friday, Nov. 6, 1998

    Sean and Amy check out a noise in Bernie's study and find a book lying on the floor. Caitlin angrily informs Cole that she's through listening to his flimsy excuses. Startled by the broken mirror, Francesca is rattled even further when an eerie and familiar chanting begins to fill the room. Keeping her doubts to herself, Meg assures Maria she's welcome to stay as long as she likes. Sara and Casey enjoy a romantic evening out in the gazebo. Cole accuses Gregory of buying Annie the ruby necklace for the sole purpose of tempting him to steal it. Annie tells Ricardo that Cole and Francesca were once partners in crime, then hints that they still seem to be working in tandem to relieve the citizens of Sunset Beach of their precious gems. Emily's decision to bring Amy home with her to spend the night raises some eyebrows with Bette, who wonders aloud at the girls sudden friendship.

    Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998

    Sean and the others try to convince Ricardo that there really was a mummy dressed in Bernie's clothes and wearing his ring. As the lights finally come back on, Annie is appalled to discover that her necklace has disappeared. Meg explains to a skeptical Sara how important it is that Maria regain her memory so she can get on with her life and get out of Ben's. Caitlin objects when her parents and Annie all point a finger at Cole, who defiantly refuses to be searched. Ricardo tells the teenagers they've probably been the victims of a practical joke in very bad taste, then is taken aback to find the word "Rosario" scrawled on a piece of paper in Bernie's study. Antonio apologizes to Gabi for his odd behavior and offers to help her organize the surprise party for Ricardo.

    Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998

    Meg is taken aback to find Maria and Ben sharing a warm laugh over a wedding night memory. Sean has a close call with a booby-trapped box in Bernie's study. Meanwhile, Hillary hisses to Annie that the ruby necklace will prove to be a death sentence unless she hands the jewels over. At Gregory's request, Ricardo arranges for extra security at the party but expresses doubt that the Richards are in any real danger from jewel thieves. Meg admits to Ben she thinks Carmen might be right about her holding Maria back from a full recovery. Vanessa and Michael discuss the possibility of adopting a child after their wedding. Amy risks another peek at the mummy and is horrified to recognize a ring that her father never removed from his finger.

    Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998

    Sara bristles when Carmen accuses Meg of driving Maria away Dashing madly through the crowds of trick-or-treaters, Maria bumps into Ben, who is startled to find his wife wearing the gown in which she was married. As a terrified Brad bolts from the room and Amy falls into a faint, Sean and Leo try to determine if the mummy is real. Gasping for breath, Annie begs Gregory to remove the rubies from around her neck before she strangles. Though Hillary closes in to try and snatch the jewels, Olivia quickly moves the necklace out of her reach Certain the mummy is a hoax, Sean assures Amy they'll find her dad. Olivia orders Annie to put her necklace back on and circulate among the guests so Cole has another opportunity to he rubies. Ben presses Maria to move in with him and Meg so she can feel safe and secure while she regains her memory.

    Monday, Nov. 2, 1998

    Maria finds her wedding gown and can't resist trying it on Caitlin shows a startled Cole the ruby necklace she borrowed to wear to the Halloween bash. Annie is unnerved when she and Gregory find a broken crucifix in the outer office. Amy, Sean and the other teenagers dash back into their hiding places when Hillary enters the Nielsen house to show Bernie the deterioration on her hands. Cole persuades his wife to return the necklace to the safe but he receives an electrical shock when he attempts to remove the rubies from her neck. A.J. tells Olivia the rubies are shrouded in a mysterious legend full of gloom and doom. Sean and his friends are shaken to hear Hillary's terrified screams from inside Bernie's study. Caitlin leaps to her husband's defense when Gregory and Annie catch Cole with his hands inside the safe.
