Wednesday, June 30, 1999 Taken aback by her friend's announcement of his betrothal, Eve informs Kevin she's sure Chris has some ulterior motive for getting engaged to a head case like Julie. Frank is pleasantly surprised to receive an invitation for a home-cooked meal at Karen's place. D.V. offers to destroy the incriminating videotape but only if Lucy will break off her engagement to Scott. As they grill some steaks on the barbeque, Frank tells Karen about Victor's apparent meltdown and his subsequent vanishing act. Meanwhile, Kevin and Eve try to hack their way into Victor's secret files. Following some horseplay with the garden hose which leaves them both drenched and giggling, Karen offers Frank a dry shirt to go home in and thanks him for a fun evening. Tuesday, June 29, 1999As he sifts through his father's belongings, Kevin confides to an astonished Eve how he recently learned that victor has been a spy for the past four decades. Chris assures Julie that her infant daughter is in good hands with the totally devoted Lucy Coe. At the firehouse, Lucy nervously attempts to dissuade Scott from watching the tape Bordisso sent over. After a quick peek at the video confirms her worst fears, Lucy manages to coax Scott away from the VCR by luring him into the bedroom for some love in the afternoon. Incensed at being accused of interfering with his client's recovery, Lee furiously informs Chris he's going to fight to the end to prove that the doctor has been spreading malicious lies. Monday, June 28, 1999As Eve consoles a dejected Mary, Kevin receives a special delivery letter from his father in which Victor states that he can never come back despite his great love for his wife and son. Scott and Lucy bring Christina down to the police station after Mac notifies them that his officers have picked up Janell. Meanwhile, Janell uses her one phone call to threaten Chris with exposure unless he helps her wriggle out of trouble. Certain his dad is in serious trouble, Kevin asks Mary for permission to search her apartment for clues to Victor's vanishing act. Lucy and Scott explain to a sympathetic Janell how they need to find Christina's birth parents so they can start adoption proceedings. Just as Janell is about to relent, Leopold arrives and advises his client to clam up. Wednesday, June 23, 1999As they prepare to put their dozing son to bed, Courtney and Joe are concerned to see that Neil has suffered another serious nosebleed. Lucy and her entourage return to the fire house with little Christina in tow. Though Lucy marvels at the wonder of finding a baby scant hours after she and Scott received the green light to expand their family, Lee cautions his future daughter-in- law to remember that as an abandoned child Christina will probably not be available for adoption. Frank phones Julie at Ferncliff and tries to discern if she might have found a way to get her hands back on the money he and Courtney stole. The Baldwins are amazed to see how closely the baby has already bonded with Lucy in just the short time they've been together. Tuesday, June 22, 1999As the Nurses Ball concludes, Lucy thanks a sullen Katherine for her closing speech about all the children who will be helped by the hospital's pediatric AIDS wing. Kevin agrees to watch Christina for a few minutes while Alan goes in search of his father. When Julie pages him, Kevin hands the baby off to Mary and heads to the phone to call Ferncliff. Scott, Lee, Gail, Karen and Serena come to Lucy's dressing room with bouquets of fresh flowers to congratulate her on a job well done. Julie asks Kevin to locate Chris for her right away. As she shows Frank the baby, Mary remarks to her amused son how much the tiny girl seems to resemble him. Chris reminds a seething Courtney why she can't tell Frank the truth about the missing money. Monday, June 21, 1999As the Nurses Ball continues, Lucy reminds her appreciative audience to dig deep in their pockets for the support of the Stone Cates Memorial AIDS wing at GH. Meanwhile, Katherine and Eve plot backstage to give their mutual enemy the comeuppance they believe she so richly deserves. Assuring Julie her baby is in safe hands, Chris orders her not to call him again. Janelle brings little Christina to the Versailles Room and thrusts her at Tammy, insisting she can no longer care for the child. Though Kevin advises her to call in the police, Tammy elects instead to consult first with Alan. Joe tries to reassure Courtney as she fears that their son's leukemia has returned. Lucy has another chilling private encounter with Bordisso when he corners her in her dressing room during a break in the action. Friday, June 18, 1999Julie has a nightmare about Christina vanishing without a trace. With the Nurses Ball fast approaching, Lucy's excitement turns to dismay when she accidentally breaks a mirror in her dressing room and worries about bad luck marring her big night. Determined to ensure her infant daughter's safety, Julie considers revealing her precious secret to Kevin. Meanwhile, Janelle informs an exasperated Chris she's through watching the baby. Explaining how he's scheduled to perform at the Ball, Chris offers Janelle five hundred dollars to babysit Christina for just one more night. At Ferncliff, Kevin tells a relieved Julie he's had her phone privileges restored. Thursday, June 17, 1999Concerned by the results of his son's blood work, Joe arranges to run more tests and quietly advises a frightened Courtney that Neil may have had a relapse. Frank is enraged to discover that his partner in crime has apparently absconded with the money they stole from Julie. Eve complains to Kevin about Lucy's obsessive need to control every tiny detail of the impending Nurses' Ball. Meanwhile, Ellen assures Lucy that the good citizens of Port Charles won't let last year's lethal ending to the Ball deter them from turning out in force for such a good cause. Disclosing how disastrous the caseworker's visit was, Lucy sadly confides her fear that she and Scott will never be allowed to adopt a child. Wednesday, June 16, 1999Kevin asks Julie to explain why she thinks she didn't actually commit the General Homicide murders. A man from the Adoption Bureau makes a surprise inspection visit to the firehouse just as Serena throws a tantrum in front of her embarrassed father and Lucy. Neil surprises his mother and Joe with a special breakfast for two. Out of the boy's earshot, Courtney tells Joe she believes Neil is trying to play matchmaker. Kevin suggests to Julie that they try regression therapy to unearth the truth about the serial killings. After finally convincing a sullen Serena to board the school bus, Lucy and Scott squirm under questioning from Dan about their criminal activities and checkered pasts. Later, Sigmund adds to the chaos by jumping into Dan's lap and sending all his paper-work fluttering to the floor. Tuesday, June 15, 1999Lucy convinces Scott that now is the time to approach Serena with their idea of adopting a child. They take her out to dinner at Kelly's and apprehensively explain their desire to expand the Baldwin family. Serena is thrilled when she hears they are considering adopting a child. Reminding Kevin of what his own illness felt like, Julie convinces him that she is not guilty of all the crimes she was charged with and deserves to be free. Kevin decides to help her and turns to Mac for permission to read over all the evidence against Julie. Chris confronts Courtney again about the lies she told and she claims that she was jealous and lied to ruin that friendship. Chris reveals that he knows that she bugged his apartment and announces that they both know that neither has feelings for each other. Monday, June 14, 1999Frank tells a devastated Karen that Janelle came to the house seeking her "usual" payment from Joe. Kevin demands the truth from his father, who apologizes for deceiving him for so long. Scott looks to a nervous Lucy for answers after a bouquet with a cryptic note from D.V. arrives at the lighthouse. When Lee shows up with news about the adoption process, Lucy uses the distraction to beat a hasty retreat. Later, Scott tells Lee he has to stop Bordisso before the man wreaks revenge on him for the alleged sins of his father. Victor explains to a stunned Kevin how he's been doing intelligence work for the united States government for decades. Pressed for more details, Victor informs his son that the work he's done is classified top secret. Friday, June 11, 1999Victor tries to dodge his son's questions but is finally forced to admit that he does have a second identity. Scott corners D.V. and demands to know what transpired in Algeria so long ago which would cause Bordisso to return for revenge. As a curious Eve watches from the nurses station, the sitter Chris hired tells him she can't look after the newborn baby any longer. Though victor claims he created the false identity of "Bill Dyson" to help obtain credit following his extended stay in the mental hospital, Kevin finds his father's story full of holes and hard to swallow. Chris convinces Janelle to stay with Christina until he can find someone else to care for her. After victor departs, Kevin decides to do a little more digging into "Bill Dyson's" background. Tuesday, June 8, 1999Chris is touched when Julie cradles her newborn daughter and announces that she is going to name her baby after him because of the way he saved her daughter's life. Julie insists that she is going to raise Christina and will not be separated from her. Chris warns her that a life on the run is no life at all, especially for a baby. He urges her to turn herself in and return to Ferncliff but she refuses and threatens to leave him as soon as her strength returns. Kevin and Eve confront Frank and Courtney about leaking Eve's secret and trying to blackmail Chris. Playing innocent, Courtney claims Frank's behind it all and tries to skip out but Eve grabs her arm and won't let her leave. Wednesday, June 2, 1999As news of Julie's daring escape from Ferncliff sends shivers throughout the jittery populace, Courtney reminds Frank that they both have good reason to fear reprisals from Port Charles most notorious serial killer. At the precinct house, Scott glumly faces a stretch behind bars while Lucy considers calling D.V.'s bluff. Kevin offers Mac his assistance as the police department throws its hunt for Julie into high gear. Lucy elects not to press charges against Bordisso after all. When D.V. gloats over his victory, however, Lucy hisses a warning that she just might take out a contract on his life instead. Frank informs Eve he knows her secret and will keep it to himself provided that she helps him regain his position as a paramedic. Soap Opera Updates Copyright© 1999 Accuweather, Inc.
