D.V. continues to feed a perplexed Lucy details about her life in Paris and the great love they've shared. Feeling renewed, Sebastian urges Ellen to hop the next flight to New Orleans with him. Eve finds a strange man sitting in her room. Looking back to see herself still lying in the hospital bed, Eve wonders if she~s died yet again. Introducing himself as her guardian angel, Ernie tells Eve the Gatekeeper sent him to look after her, then admits to the flustered doctor that she is his very first assignment. Awakening, Eve discovers Kevin at her side and struggles to recall her amazing "dream". Ellen explains to Sebastian why she can't just instantly dismiss the feelings she's had for Matt.

As Frank watches through the telescope from the apartment across the street, Courtney delivers Neil to Joe and Karen's place for another sleep-over. Ellen takes another stab at reconciling with Matt but he coldly reminds her that the only relationship they share now is a professional one. Courtney and Frank finalize their plans for manipulating Karen into finding Joe in a compromising position. Meanwhile, Karen tells Joe she feels like Mary is growing more distant from her even as her future mother- in-law seems to be embracing Courtney as a special friend. Eve agrees to undergo more tests as Matt and Chris bicker over the best treatment for their ailing colleague.

Courtney grouses to Frank about Karen's dogged determination to believe in Joe no matter how high the pile of incriminating evidence grows. Upon being told by his secretary that Eve is waiting to see him, D.V. is surprised to discover that it's actually Lucy who stands in his outer office. Not letting on that his visitor is carrying the wrong moniker, D.V. assures "Eve" he recognizes her and will help her out of her current unfortunate predicament. Frank and Courtney cook up a plan to have Karen catch Joe with a hooker. Chris asks Lee to look into why Julie has suddenly been placed into isolation without any phone privileges. D.V. tells "Eve" they've been intimate friends for years and insists that she move in with him as per their "original plan".

After an orderly grabs the pillow out from under her shirt, Julie tries desperately to hide her bulging stomach. Sebastian thanks Ellen for letting him move in. In Manhattan, Scotty and Kevin receive a tip about Lucy being camped in a subway tunnel in the downtown area. Meanwhile, Lucy's new friend provides her with a change of clothes and offers to take her to a nearby homeless shelter to seek medical attention. Julie manages to retrieve her pillow, then learns she's to be placed in solitary confinement for being caught with a pair of scissors. Ellen gets the cold shoulder from Matt when she expresses a hope that they can still be friends. The doctor at the west Side shelter phones Scott after recognizing Lucy from the description given on the TV bulletin.

Worried about his missing partner, Scott calls the NYPD for help locating Lucy. Julie summons Chris back to Ferncliff, where she offers him half the proceeds from DL-56 if he'll smuggle her baby out of the mental hospital. Frank boasts to Courtney about his ingenious plan to plant a souvenir from the Classic Cat strip club in his brother's locker at the hospital. Scott heads to D.V. office to demand an audience but gets rebuffed by Bordisso's crisply efficient secretary. Removing the pillow from beneath her shirt, Julie shows an astonished Chris her enlarged belly and reveals that the child is due in just six weeks. Courtney makes sure Karen gets a glimpse into her betrothed's locker before Joe discovers that he's been framed yet again.

Scott tells Lucy his contact claims to have proof that Bordisso owned the factory where the child labor law violations occurred. Later, D.V. forces his way into Lucy's dressing room before the taping of her interview and warns her she'll live to regret it if she dares to take him on. Sebastian puts on a brave front after Ellen regretfully reports that his prognosis is still terminal. As Matt watches from behind the door, Ellen and Sebastian share a tender kiss. Wearing the newest dress from her "Serena" line, Lucy sails into the TV interview and discloses how Bordisso sabotaged her company and created the child labor scandal to discredit her. Meanwhile, as he meets his contact in a dark alley, Scott is set upon by thugs and savagely beaten.

Lee commends Scott for finally taking his community service obligations seriously. Courtney asks Eve for help picking out a gift for Chris but the doctor seems less than enthusiastic about pushing along her former roommate's new romance. Sebastian awakens and learns that Matt was the one who truly saved his life in the OR. Later, shrugging off his rival's expression of gratitude, Matt curtly reminds Sebastian that nothing has changed between them where Ellen is concerned. Scott considers postponing his trip to New York after one of his young charges gets arrested. Chris encourages an uneasy Courtney to bring Frank to justice for his blackmail attempt. Lee offers to handle Danny's case so Scott will be free to go to New York and get the goods on D V.

Lucy lets the cat out of the bag to Kevin about Eve's luncheon with Bordisso at the PC Grill. After spending another night with Chris, Courtney seeks to strengthen her position by reminding her lover how Frank threatened to turn her in to the IRS unless she played along with his scheme. Meanwhile, a seething Frank eavesdrops electronically on his treacherous partner in crime. Kevin takes offense when Lucy warns him that his current flame is hiding a plethora of secrets. Ellen begs Matt to understand why she has to go away with Sebastian to explore her feelings for the man before he dies. Hurt and angry, Matt icily informs Ellen he won't be waiting for her when she gets back.

Lee warns his son that he's now required to submit a report on Scott's failure to complete his community service requirement. Courtney and Frank ponder how best to use the vulnerability they've just uncovered in Chris. Meanwhile, Chris asks his private detective for help locating the source of the listening device he found. Sebastian returns to General Hospital on a gurney after collapsing with dangerously low blood pressure. Matt phones Ellen and cautions her that her friend's condition appears to be rapidly deteriorating. Scott urges Lee to obtain an extension with the court so he can get to New York and put an end to Bordisso's meddling. Chris wonders if Courtney could have planted the bug and decides to set a trap of his own.

Scott is outraged to find Eve dining with D.V. Furious that D.V. seems to be friends with Eve, Scott blasts him for what he's done to ruin Lucy's plans and vows that he will make him pay for slandering his and Lucy's good names. He then attacks Eve for speaking with D.V. and heads home to complain to Lucy about what Eve has been doing. Afterwards, the two decide the best way to find out more about D.V. is to take a trip to New York City. Courtney freaks out when she realizes that Chris knows that she has been posing as Marcia Cooper to take Julie's money and is planning to take his witness to the police. She continues to listen with her electronic listening device when Eve drops in to complain about Scott and Lucy.

Eve arranges to meet D.V. at the Port Charles Grill, then lies to Kevin to conceal the encounter. Meanwhile, Scotty learns that Bordisso is back in town and resolves to confront the saboteur with evidence of his crimes. Lee arrives at the fire house and sternly reminds his son that he needs to complete the community service requirements set down by the court if he expects to stay out of jail. Serena returns home in tears after being teased by her classmates about the scandal involving the dress line which bears her name. Julie phones Kevin and begs him to come for a visit. Eve again asks D.V. if he's tormenting her friends as a way of getting back at her.

Julie places an urgent call to Frank after learning that her back account has been completely drained. when Frank arrives at Ferncliff, Julie asks how financially prepared he is for fatherhood, then reveals that Chris came to see her earlier in the week. Matt and Ellen kiss and make up following their dispute over Sebastian. Julie admits to Frank she put some money away for her baby but that the funds have been stolen. Courtney attempts to wriggle out of trouble after Chris catches her in another lie. Casually mentioning his visit to Julie, Chris remarks that his once wealthy former colleague is now penniless and watches Courtney carefully for her reaction. Julie entreats Frank to help her track down the missing money.
