Renee issues an angry ultimatum to Asa, ordering him to back off of the Rappaports or else. Later, Asa is annoyed when Bo also advises his father not to get between Sam and baby Matthew. Grace listens intently as John questions Kevin about his mysterious source. After reporting to her unseen co-conspirator that Kevin still hasn't squealed on "Hamlet", Grace asks for further instructions. Viki assures Ben he can recuperate safely in her attic for as long as he likes. Tea tells Hank she had no idea his brother thought of her as more than a friend. Meanwhile, R.J. commiserates with Blair as she bemoans her cousin's liaison with Max. when his temperature shoots up to 103, Ben asks Viki to score him some antibiotics.

Sam breaks up a shoving match between his son and Cristian in the workout room at Serenity Springs. Tipped off by Andrew, Bo finds Lindsay hiding in the chapel at St. James. Roseanne coaxes Cris into the spa's hot tub to cool down following his fight with will. Renee nervously hustles Asa out of the house so she can have privacy when she consults with Nora. Later, explaining to the attorney why she couldn~t raise her baby in a brothel, Renee admits that she never told her married lover she was pregnant. Sam helps will work through his anger and frustration with the world at large and a few Llanview residents in particular. Renee confirms Nora 5 suspicion that the child she gave away years ago was indeed Asa 5.

R.J. makes another awkward attempt at convincing Tea to go out on a date with him. Impressed with Grace's bold attitude and full resume, Kevin signs her on as the new editor for the Banner's stodgy Styles page. Cris encounters will at the gym and angrily orders him to apologize to Jessica. When Roseanne adds her own snarling two cents worth, Will snaps back and Cris instantly leaps to his old friend's defense. As push comes to shove, and fisticuffs ensue, Chris punches Will out. Max warns Kelly that the Sun is in danger of "setting" permanently if they don't infuse the paper with a large amount of cash. Taken aback R.J.'s invitation, Tea tells him she's flattered but not really interested in moving beyond the "just friends" stage.

Lindsay sobs out to Andrew a story about being followed by some scary men who ran her car off the road and then chased her through the woods. Nora commends Sam for facing down the hostile crowd at the Chamber of Commerce banquet. While Viki urges Ben to go hide in the attic, an impatient Dorian begins leaning on Llanfair's doorbell. Nora advises Sam to tell Bo the truth if he still can't locate his missing brother. Though Viki tries to give her unwanted guest the bum's rush, Dorian refuses to take a hint and insists on clearing the air so they can be friends. New evidence from the "crash" site has Bo wondering if Lindsay could have staged an accident just to gain attention.

Dorian confides to Carlotta her fear that what little family she has left is rapidly disintegrating in front of her very eyes. Bo throws the search for Lindsay into high gear, then blames Sam for involving his ex-wife in a dangerous scenario involving professional hitmen and dead Senators. Unable to pinpoint the source of the phone bug, Kevin frets that he's blown his last chance at getting any valuable information out of "Hamlet". Tired of being hassled by the police commissioner, Sam bitterly accuses Bo of carrying out a personal vendetta because of Nora. Meanwhile, Lindsay is disappointed to see that her "accident" hasn't made any of the newspapers. Carlotta suggests to Dorian that she's meddling in her nieces lives in a misguided effort to make up for the emptiness in her own lonely existence.

Viki is rattled to learn that one of her reporters is doing a story on local watering holes and plans to include the Crossroads bar in his piece. A fuming Blair can~t stop thinking about her cousin sleeping with Max. Meanwhile, at the Sun, Max questions ~Kelly's motivations for calling a temporary halt to their affair. Touched to receive a rose and a warm note of appreciation from John, a blushing Tea thanks her suitor for the lovely gesture. Sam finds himself locked out of his office but his day gets even worse when Bo arrives with tough questions about his past. Viki puts the kibosh on the staffer~s plan to visit the Crossroads. Cris reluctantly informs will that Jessica has agreed to move to New York City with him in June.

Peering in at his brother through the bars of a jail cell, Joey again entreats Kevin to give Bo the name of his source. Viki returns to Llanview to bail out her son and angrily reminds Bo that punishing Kevin won t help ease any of the commissioner's personal problems. At the Crossroads, Ben confides to Sam how much he wishes he could stay put this time instead of taking it on the lam once again. Tea offers John her sympathies after hearing of Richard's demise. Wracked with guilt about turning down his adoptive father's urgent request for police protection, John sadly wonders how he will live with himself now that Richard has been murdered. Kevin hints to Viki that the story he's sitting on is so huge it's even worth spending a few days in jail to ensure that his source stays protected.

Sam tells Nora how Asa is trying to evict him from his office building. As news of Richard's death hits the airwaves, Ben is relieved to hear that no charges have yet been filed against Kevin. At the precinct house, Joey explains to Asa why he couldn't backup his brother's phony story. Meanwhile, Bo questions Kevin about the mysterious third man who left the scene following the shooting. Though Kevin breathes a sigh of relief when ballistics confirms that the fatal bullet didn't come from Graham's gun, the commissioner reminds his nephew he won't be off the hook until he discloses the identity of the person who fled from the city room. Sam tries to convince Nora that their messy lives will straighten themselves out soon.

Kelly spends another night with Max but in the morning she suddenly suggests that they call it quits. Dorian tells Blair how Mel came from beyond the grave to personally approve of her vendetta against Viki. At the Crossroads, Ben snarls at Sophia when she guesses that his foul mood was caused by "Blondie" dumping him. Kevin explains to an astonished Joey how "Hamlet" implicated Richard Graham in the plane crash which killed Mel. Later, Richard confronts Kevin at the Banner and demands that the reporter stop tailing him all over town. When the former senator pulls out a gun, Kevin tries to talk his way out of trouble but Richard winds up lifeless on the floor following Ben's arrival in the city room.

Dubious but desperate, Dorian goes to Madame Delphinia for a psychic reading. Sheepishly admitting how she opened the locker at the bus terminal despite her declaration of freedom from Todd, Tea shows John the second key she found inside. As Nora's birthday arrives, a grumbling Bo tells Hank he no longer has any use for the reservations he made months ago for dinner at one of Llanview's ritziest restaurants. Meanwhile, Nora dreads spending her birthday all alone but reassures Rachel by phone she doesn't mind a quiet evening at home. As Madame Delphinia calls for Mel's spirit to manifest itself, Dorian anxiously asks the medium if her late husband has forgiven her for the harsh words with which they parted.

Tired of being falsely accused, Sam icily informs Llanview's police commissioner that Lindsay was the one who couldn't wait to give Nora the news flash about how she slept with Bo. Sophia comes to Dorian's house unannounced and tells her benefactor she has new information about Ben and "Blondie". After scoping out the lavish surroundings, however, Sophia informs an aggravated Dorian that her price just went up. Later, Dorian grows misty-eyed watching Starr pretending to call heaven and speak with Mel on her toy phone. As Sam enjoys holding baby Matthew for the first time, he's stunned to catch a glimpse of a familiar face through the nursery's viewing window.

"Hamlet" arranges to meet Kevin again in the underworld's parking garage. As baby Matthew continues to show signs of improvement, Nora receives her own discharge papers but yearns to take her son home with her. Bo tells John how a passing stranger came to his aid following the spill he took on his bike. Asa and Renee are thrilled by Jessica's decision to raise her baby. At the precinct house, Lindsay pesters Bo until he apologizes for hurting her feelings. Ben tells Kevin that Richard Graham holds the key to the story Mel was working on before he died. Meanwhile, Richard pressures John to provide him with around-the-clock police protection. Nora is surprised and touched to find that Sam has already fixed the nursery up for Matthew's eventual homecoming.

During an angry confrontation between the attorney and the "bartender", Ben is revealed to be Sam's sibling. Kelly haughtily informs a disapproving Joey that her affair with Max is none of his business. Meanwhile, R.J. takes his partner to task for working his way through the Cramer cousins with no regard for the consequences of his actions. Standing in the bus station, Tea decides at the last minute not to open the locker with the key Todd sent her. Declaring herself free at last from the influence of her warped ex-husband, Tea celebrates by dancing with a mariachi band in front of a delighted John. Warning his brother never to call him "Chip" again, Sam reminds Ben he has a family of his own now and wants to keep their past dead and buried.

After his angry mother discloses how she found Dorian snooping through her office, Kevin promises Viki his questionable contract with Blair will pay off handsomely once he locates "Hamlet" again. When Sophia recognizes a photo of the Banner's publisher, a gleeful Dorian wonders if Viki has reverted to type and formed yet another alternate personality named "Blondie". After ascertaining that Bo has a dislocated shoulder, Ben pops the commissioner's arm back into its socket like an old pro. Viki's girlish giddiness makes Kevin suspect that his mother has a new man in her life. Sophia describes for a delighted Dorian how "Blondie" won the karaoke contest and then began dating the Crossroad bartender.

While a nervous Blair stands guard on the door, Dorian rummages through Viki's office in hopes of finding some vulnerability she can exploit in order to bring down her arch rival. Meanwhile, at the Crossroads, Viki continues to be dazzled by Ben's ability to look straight into her soul and make her feel so special. Though she expresses a strong desire to tell someone about the happiness she's found, Ben advises Viki not to spread the word about their "friendship" just yet. Bo explains to a bitterly disappointed Lindsay why he's not ready to expand their relationship past the one night they've already shared. Promising Nora that she and Matthew will always be part of his life, Sam nevertheless offers to give his grateful old friend enough time and space to sort out her feelings for Bo.

Jessica informs her delighted mother that she's decided to keep her baby. At the hospital, Larry maintains a cautiously optimistic tone as he reports on Matthew's progress to Nora. Sam heads to Bo's hotel room to bring him news of the baby's medical crisis. Appalled to find Bo's in bed with Lindsay, Sam curtly delivers his message but advises the police commissioner to stay away from Nora and her son. Roseanne urges Cristian not to put his career and his entire future on hold while he waits for Jessica to deliver another man's child. Grinning from ear to ear, Viki admits to her daughter how thrilled she is at the prospect of being a "hands on" grandma. In the mood to celebrate, Viki returns to the Crossroads to share her wonderful news with Ben.
