Handing Jim Lizzie's journal from the time she spent at the same camp for kids, Beth urges Jim to reconsider and send Susan there, unaware that Susan is secretly listening. A desperate Max calls Susan and convinces her to try to sneak away to meet him in the park. Getting past Beth, Susan's thrilled to find Max and tries to convince him to let her leave town with him. Rick can't believe it when Abby confesses she faked her own kidnaping and asks her how she could put him through this. The two find Danny and Michelle and Rick tries to repair the damage he has done to their relationship. Michelle remains angry, insisting that there is no way he can control her relationship with her husband.

Finding his buddy frustrated and worried, Phillip advises Rick to release Michelle in hopes that Abby will be safe. When Michelle refuses to calm down after her visit with Carmen, her psychiatrist orders her to be drugged. Rick asks that Michelle be released but her shrink won't allow it because she thinks Michelle is delusional and could be a danger to herself. Later, Abby returns to Rick and reveals that it was her idea to fake her own kidnaping to teach him a lesson. Danny manages to sneak Michelle out of the hospital. Buzz wraps up the painting of Jenna from behind the bar at Petula's and is surprised when Selena stops by for her final check. Buzz takes the time to apologize for his rude words to her the other day. Pilar points out to a surprised and concerned Bill that her family owns Sancorp, his new employer.

Frantic to read the note suggesting that Abby has been kidnaped, Rick tears the worst when he's told that Abby left with Danny. He angrily confronts Danny who denies knowing anything about her disappearance. Meanwhile, in hiding, Abby begins to regret the scheme that she concocted to teach Rick a lesson. shattered to realize that Drew and everyone else has been lying to him, Max angrily removes Drew's name from his mother's headstone. Carmen surprises Michelle at the hospital and tries to apologize for all that has happened. When Michelle refuses to believe her sincerity, Carmen decides to goad her into attacking her so that Michelle will be forced to remain behind locked doors in the psych ward.

After apologizing for thinking that he and Carmen had anything to do with Michelle's "kidnaping," Danny turns to Ben for help in springing Michelle from the psychiatric ward at the hospital. Hopping a bus without telling Rusty, Marah returns from Tulsa and confides to Reva that she is concerned about a psychic's warnings about San Cristobel. Ben approaches Ross with a job offer as new president of Sancorp. When Ross turns down the offer with a warning about associating with the Santos family, Ben counters his warning with one of his own about getting back together with Blake. Jim assumes the worst when he finds his daughter in Max's arms. Max lets slip about the sleeping pills which sets both Jim and Beth off, blasting her for trying to hurt Beth.

Selena interrupts Drew's plans to make love with Jesse and asks for her help preparing for her date with Billy tonight because she hasn't been on a real "date" in years. However, as they talk, Selena confesses that she wants to have a relationship with Buzz but he's not ready for one right now. Meanwhile, Buzz confides in Reva about his feelings for Selena but admits that every time he takes a step in her direction, he feels the pull of Jenna on his soul and feels it's wrong to replace that love. Admitting that she knows the feeling of finding your soul mate, Reva urges him to have faith that he can get past that feeling. At the airport Jim confides to Beth that he doesn't feel weird about dating her after his wife died and is looking forward to being together.

Susan wakes and finds Max staring at her at Petula's, wondering why she was asleep. Realizing that she has failed to stop her father from traveling with Beth, Susan decides to have a "wild time" of her own with an unsuspecting Max. She takes him out to "make out point" where she starts to kiss him. He pulls back and lectures her about assuming too much where he is concerned. upset, Susan jumps into the lake but then panics. Carmen denies it when Danny accuses his mother of setting him up with the phony phone call. Danny finds Michelle has been locked up at the hospital, thanks to Rick and vows to get her out. Ross asks Blake to sign the divorce papers.

Carmen implores Ben to understand that she must do what she has to do to protect her family. She guesses that Nino was behind the bomb threat but guesses that he had help too. As they talk, Carmen suddenly kisses him. A phone call from a rival family interrupts and confirms for Carmen that Nino arranged the bomb in the church. However, he has since left town and forced his family to give Carmen a financial gift as an apology. Carmen then shows Ben her extensive financial holdings. India confronts Blake at her house and admits that she and Ross have ended things for the simple reason that Ross still has feelings for Blake. Later, Ross has a surprise for an unsuspecting Blake. Rick insists to Danny that if he truly cares for Michelle, he would let her go home with him.

Admitting his family does legitimate business there, Danny suggests to Michelle that she and Pilar move to San Cristobel temporarily until things settle down in Springfield. Michelle refuses and insists that she's not going anywhere without him. Rick confides to Phillip that he can't stop worrying that his sister is going to be killed, thanks to her relationship with Danny. Phillip suggests that they go talk with her and take her away from the dangerous situation. At the opening of Petula's, Frank almost ruins his father's big day by accusing him of making the former Company into a shrine to his late wife. Buzz denies it and insists that his relationship with Selena is nothing more than a friendship.

After Susan admits that she saw Beth with her father, Reva and Cassie try to understand why she can't be happy for Jim. Susan wants her father to be happy but states that she'd like him to be with Cassie instead. Reva advises her that Cassie is not ready for a relationship at this time. Meanwhile, Beth warns Jim about Susan so he decides to have a chat with his daughter. Jim assures Susan that he's not upset with her but then spoils the meeting by welcoming Beth to join the conversation. Susan's hurt further when she overhears her father invite Beth to come to the Bahamas with him on business. Upset to find Annie talking with Lizzie about spending the day with her, Phillip takes Annie aside and orders her to stay away from his daughter.

Selena's walking on air after her breakthrough with Drew and convinces Buzz to take a spin on the dance floor with her. After kissing each other impulsively, Buzz and Selena are embarrassed especially when Harley arrives. Later, Buzz decides to rename Company "Petula's", after Jenna. Abby tries to calm Rick down who worries what is going to happen to his sister because of her friendship with Danny. Pressed by Michelle at the church, Carmen confesses to everyone that she was responsible for the random shooting at the Santos house but warns Danny that she had nothing to do with the bomb. She also claims that he will put the entire family at risk if he quits the business.

As Susan stares in disbelief, Jim kisses Beth and thanks her for the perfect night together. After Jim leaves, Beth spots a crying Susan outside and tries to calm her. Susan blasts her for ruining her birthday party. When Susan vows that her father will always choose her over Beth, Beth decides to insure that Susan doesn't ruin her relationship with Jim. Cassie uses Jim as her excuse when Mark at Lewis oil invites her out on a date. Locked in the church with everyone else, Danny manages to successfully defuse the bomb Dietz's thug left. Afterwards, Dietz claims that a stranger knocked him down and rushed away from the church before the bomb was found. Carmen announces to Ben that this means war and orders Dietz to let the other families know that they are back in business.

When Buzz assigns Max and Susan to K.P. duty at Company on Jim's orders, Susan blames Beth for her punishment but Max argues that it's all her fault. She's caught off guard when Max jokes that Beth's good looking and he thinks Jim's just reacting to her looks. Meanwhile, Jim kisses Beth passionately and hints that tonight is going to be wonderful. But when they start undressing each other in the bedroom, Beth flashes back to a terrifying moment in her past and stops a startled Jim. She pulls back and starts crying about being embarrassed. Jim tenderly assures her that she will learn to trust again and offers to help her. Unaware that Dietz's hired thug has planted a bomb underneath one of the church pews, Carmen is surprised when Danny brings Michelle to Ray's first mass but welcomes Rick; Abby, Bill and Pilar.

Michelle boasts to a worried Bill that she stole Carmen's clock which proves the shooting at the Santos house was a set up. He warns her about the danger she's facing from Carmen and then wonders aloud if she's trying to force Danny's hand like Carmen has done. Arriving at Company to pick up some equipment, Jesse can' t convince Drew to come in with him now that Buzz owns the place and has hired Selena as his new manager. Drew does overhear Selena confiding to Buzz about how devastated she was when she almost lost Drew during her pregnancy. Her pimp found out she was pregnant and almost beat her to death. Rick brings Doctor Sloane to see an upset Abby and confirms that her hearing loss is due to a malfunction in her cochlear implant.

Vicky tries to encourage Beth to believe that Jim and Cassie's new working relationship at Lewis oil will not interfere in her "plans" for Jim. Vicky's furious when she finds David is not ready to attend the opera as planned because of a stakeout. She apologizes however after finding out that he was injured on the job and helps comfort him. After Jim drops her off for the big birthday party at Millennium, Susan thanks Harley for not telling her father that she skipped school to spend time with Max. She also apologizes for putting her down when she was talking about her adoptive mother but Harley assures her that she did nothing wrong. She also advises her that she will never attempt to replace her mother in her life. Drew announces that she wants to find her father.
