Due to the Memorial Day Holiday there will be no summary for "Guiding Light" on Monday May 31. Michelle comforts a worried Rick as he waits for Abby's hearing surgery to be over. Drew angrily tells Buzz that Selena did not conceive her out of love. Everyone celebrates at Cedars as they learn that Abby's operation was a success. A broken and drunken Selena makes a deal with a john. A friend of Selenas calls for drew but then gets Buzz to let them know that Selena is headed for a fall. Ben is escorted out of Carmen's house as Danny and the "family" find evidence on him of the "attempt" on Carmen's life.

Michelle worries when Danny hints that they'll be able to date again soon now that he may have found out who wanted to kill his mother. She worries that he'll take the deadly matter into his own hands and admits that she thinks his mother set up the entire event. While Danny waits for him, Ben stops the elevator with Blake on board and confronts her about her dislike for him. Blake admits that she can't trust herself around him. When Danny finally confronts him with a threat, Ben realizes that Carmen framed him for the shooting. While having a play date with the kids in the park, Cassie encourages Ross to give Blake another chance for the sake of the children. He's later upset to learn that she missed their meeting about Holly because she was with Ben.

When Harley expresses her concerns about his burgeoning relationship with Selena, Buzz thanks his daughter but gently explains it's none of her business. He leaks that Drew found out that Selena is her real mother which leads to a discussion about Harley's leftover feelings of abandonment. Before Danny and Dietz arrive for a meeting, Ben warns Carmen that her plans to bring Danny back to her side are going to blow up in her face. When she ignores his demand that she stop, he hands her a legal document and announces that he quits "her family." Carmen then informs Dietz that Ben's going to take a fall and could be the perfect enemy to frame. Michelle is caught off guard when Pilar changes her mind and reveals that she now thinks that she and Danny can never be together.

Reva suggests to Josh that instead of going to San Cristobel for their honeymoon, they should just stay in town. When he playfully covers her eyes from behind, she flashes back to a time when someone else grabbed her. Dr. Sloane reports to Abby that she is an excellent candidate for the cochlear implant and that the surgery can be done by the end of the week. Abby begins to panic and claims that she can't have the surgery this soon because of her work. Abby then talks with Reva about her concerns. Reva and Josh decide to postpone their honeymoon in San Cristobel until after Abby has had the operation. Jesse does his best to convince Drew that Selena was only trying to help her when she lied about who her mother really was.

Selena runs back to her place and finds Drew on the floor, crying. She tries to deny it when Drew accuses her of being her mother and is finally forced to admit that she is. She defends her lies and claims that she was trying to protect her from having to face the mother who gave her up at birth but Drew blasts her anyway for all the pain and anguish she has caused. She refuses to forgive Selena and vows not to tell Max the truth. Drew is hurt further when she learns that Jesse also knew the truth. As Reva and Josh's wedding reception gets underway, Dylan surprises the happy couple with a song. Afterwards the newlyweds retire to a romantic bedroom. Dylan surprises Susan with photos of her with him and Harley after her birth.

Pilar encourages her brother to go see Michelle but he claims it is too dangerous to be near her until he can find out who is trying to hurt the family. Carmen has a private talk with her daughter about Bill and her feelings for him. Pilar explains that Bill liked her and protected her before he knew who she was. Assuring her that she can count on her, Carmen urges her to attend the wedding and go to Bill. Annie stops Reva before she can walk down the aisle and sadly tells her that she has given up on trying to stop her from being with Josh. She runs crying from the country club. As the ceremony gets underway, Reva and Josh are finally married as their thoughts turn to memories of Sarah and E.B.

Buzz returns to town and listens to Selena's complaints about having to deflect Drew's investigation of her daughter. He surprises her with a special dress he bought for her to wear to the wedding. Before they leave, Selena's asks Buzz to help her hide her box of momentos under a step. Cassie surprises Reva with a letter from Roxie who apologizes for not being with her on her wedding day. Her next surprise is the arrival of Hawk who welcomes Cassie to the family and greets her with stories about Sarah. watching Jim pick up Beth for the wedding, Annie complains to Alan about all the people who live at the mansion who treat her like dirt. She especially complains about him, admitting she's upset because he hasn't asked her to marry him.

Carmen confides to Dietz that she set up the phony assassination to win Danny back into the family but then becomes upset when Danny insists on finding out who was behind the attack on her life. Michelle argues with Bill about continuing his relationship with Pilar but he asks if she intends to stay away from Danny. Bill invites Pilar to attend Reva and Josh's wedding with him but she turns him down, afraid to leave the Santos' house. Jim lays into Harley when he learns that Max will be at Susan's birthday party. Harley defends her decision but when Jim verbally attacks her, Phillip escorts his wife out and tells Jim he can tell his daughter that Max can't come and pay for the party as well.

Ross and India make plans for a night at the opera and fun at his place later. Selena considers getting rid of her box of momentos of Drew as a baby but realizes that she can't. Harley advises Drew to question Selena about her missing daughter without letting her know that she is trying to find her child. Later, Harley's upset when Max thanks her for allowing Susan to invite him to her birthday party. Susan's walking on air when Max gives her his leather jacket as a birthday present. Ben confides to Blake that his job with Carmen is very demanding and apologizes for not being able to spend time with her. Blake assures him that she's not interested in a friendship with him.

When Phillip and Harley arrive, an excited Buzz boasts that he has won the English lottery and would like to use the Spaulding jet to fly to England before the three hour deadline. Stating he'll never make it, Phillip sends him to the British consulate in Chicago instead. Buzz fails to reach Frank to warn him about telling Drew that Max is not her real brother. Meanwhile, Frank discovers that the two aren't related and hurries to Drew's place. In front of Drew, Jesse tries to convince Max that he's glad that he and Drew are together now as brother and sister and promises to help her win custody. As Carmen and Michelle argue about what is right for Danny, he begins to get his memory back and confronts his mother about ordering Michelle's death.

Drew boasts to Selena that she has filed to be Max's guardian. when her mother complains about Michelle kidnaping Danny, Pilar orders her mother to leave Danny and Michelle alone. undaunted, Carmen finds out from Drew that she slept with Danny. Armed with the secret, Carmen rushes to the lighthouse to tell her secret. Reva surprises Cassie, Abby, Harley and Blake by inviting them to her place for an impromptu wedding shower for herself. As a special guest, Reva introduces her friends to Madam Zuma who will tell everyone's fortunes. Zuma reads Abby's cards first and announces that she will regain her hearing soon. Reva is embarrassed and warns Zuma to "lighten up." Cassie is next and her fortune promises an exciting adventure with a warning that another woman may interfere. million dollar winner if she can get to London in three hours.

Buzz and Selena walk through the burned out remains of the diner. Frank arrives and is devastated by the total loss. He wonders aloud why this is happening to them. Buzz insists that it's because he arrived in town that all the tragedy has hurt the family. when Frank insists that they will rebuild, Buzz laughs that his insurance won't cover such a devastating and complete fire. Phillip offers him money to rebuild but Buzz claims that money cat replace the memories that were within the diner. Beth is jealous when Jim suggests Cassie should be given a medal for saving his daughter's life. Harley and Phillip interrogate Susan about the fire and force her to admit that she slipped into the diner after Buzz closed up to make Max dinner.

Jesse stops Selena from telling Drew that she is her mother. Thanks to his attempt to smoke a cigarette, Max unknowingly starts a fire in the food locker at the diner. Unable to escape from the locked room, Susan and Max fear for their lives when they're unable to douse the flames. Coming by for a take out order, Cassie smells smoke, hears screams and rushes into the place to save Susan and Max from the burning diner. Buzz rushes in and rescues a weakened Cassie. When Beth injures herself during an impromptu tennis lesson, she and Jim grow closer though Lillian accuses her of faking her injury to win his affection. Beth is jealous later when Jim thanks Cassie for saving his daughter's life. Selena helps a grieving Buzz try to cope with the loss of the diner.
