A.J. tells Carly he's arranged for the shrink to drop in on Jason the same way so he will finally be exposed as the unfit parent that he is. Meanwhile, as Dr. Smithson arrives unannounced at the penthouse, a flustered Jason scrambles to conceal the gun hes carrying. Mac becomes gloomy and introspective on the anniversary of his brother's death. Stefan explains to Nikolas why he arranged for Helena to become sole trustee. when Nikolas reveals that hes already spoken to both Helena and Alexis on the subject of mutual cooperation, Stefan grows angry and advises his son to let him handle all the business transactions. Ned reassures a nervous V that he's primed and ready to rock n roll at Jake~s that night.

Laura thanks Elizabeth for helping Lucky deal with her news about the divorce. Across town, Lucky asks his father if his marriage is really over. Alexis triumphantly reports to Jason that she's arranged for Dr. Smithson to make an unscheduled home visit to the Quartermaine mansion this very day . Meanwhile, as the clan gathers for an ELQ board meeting. Edward is taken aback to find the court-appointed psychiatrist on his doorstep. when Dr. Smithson asks to see Michael interacting with his biological parents on their home turf, a pack of Quartermaines hastily chime in with stories of family harmony but Emily loudly accuses them all of lying. Luke assures Lucky he has no regrets about the twenty years he spent with the mother of his children.

Stefan drops by the cottage to get a look at his son new digs. An anxious Dara waits all night at GH for news of Justus' condition in the wake of the new district attorney's car accident. Though Elizabeth feels pressured by the deadline for submitting her work to the Art Institute, Lucky assures his nervous girlfriend she'll have the portrait done in plenty of time. Felicia finds Luke loitering on the docks, staring daggers across the bay at Spoon Island. Nikolas tells Stefan he's slowly getting adjusted to a life without servants or lavish surroundings. Felicia reminds a gloomy Luke that she understands all too well how it feels to lose a love which was supposed to last forever.

Declaring he feels no obligation to reward them for information they've provided, Justus warns Sonny and Jason he'll prosecute them to the fullest extent possible if they break the law while he's in office. Certain the new D.A. is just running scared, Sonny predicts Justus won't live another three months now that he's crossed Moreno. Edward encourages Carly to spend freely with the Quartermaines credit cards so she can start enjoying some of the finer things in life. Later, Alan accuses his father of trying to manipulate A.J. and Carly into a union they may not truly share. Monica explains to Emily why her tumultuous relationship with Alan has always culminated in a happy ending despite all the ups and downs.

Carly decides to employ her feminine wiles to worm her way back into A.J.'s good graces. Certain her father is fooling around with another woman, Emily barges into Tammy's apartment and is astonished to find Monica and Alan in a passionate liplock Helena cozies up to Jax, then suggests that they form a partnership which will be mutually satisfying to both parties. At ELQ, Ned and A.J. again exchange angry jibes about each other's failings as a father. Alan and Monica announce to their delighted daughter that they've reconciled. Meanwhile, down below in Kelly's, Bobbie and Tony begin bickering again. Carly offers A.J. a simpering apology, making sure to flash as much skin as possible during her performance.

Tammy assures her apologetic guest that he was no bother and invites him to use her bathroom to freshen up. Monica tries to explain to an angry A.J. how she's attempting to support his cause without also hurting his brother. Mac warns Jax that he won't stand for any more trouble from him or his firebug brother. Despite cautionary words from Sonny, Jason makes plans to spy on Moreno again to learn when the next heroin shipment is due. Worried that Jason is going to come off looking like father of the year during his session with the court-appointed psychiatrist, A.J. attempts to convince the shrink that Michael was virtually kept prisoner during his first year of life.

Following the last debate of the campaign, Justus grudgingly admits to Dara that they now seem to be running neck and neck in the race for the district attorney's seat. On the docks, Jason listens from his hiding place as Moreno issues instructions to his goons for the next shipment. Meanwhile, Mac confides to Felicia his growing suspicion that the Quartermaines were behind the arson which destroyed the coffee warehouse. Monica calls Bobbie for help when Michael begins wailing again at the top of his lungs. Jason reports success to Sonny, who tries one more time to convince his young friend to disassociate himself from what is about to transpire.

Following his encounter with Laura and Stefan, a gloomy Luke wanders back to the blues club. Katherine brings Nikolas a bottle of champagne for a toast to his new home, then seductively suggests that they christen the new digs by making love in every room. Jason promises his relieved grandmother he'll hurry right over to the mansion. Though Edward tries to halt his grandson at the front door, Jason hears Michael wailing and immediately bolts up the stairs to the nursery. Sitting in their box at the opera house, Laura gets the giggles thinking about the way Stefan once dragged their teenaged son to see "Aida". Elizabeth drops by the cottage with a housewarming gift but is disappointed to find Nikolas entertaining Katherine once again.

Luke returns from Switzerland and informs his curious sister he was merely conducting some banking business which came up. Badly sleep deprived and grouchy, A.J. and Carly snipe at one another about the best way to handle Michael's incessant wailing. Sonny cautions Jason to steer clear while he leans on Moreno. Though Mac doubts that a book about the sweet and genteel Lila Quartermaine could carry much punch, Felicia stubbornly insists that the matriarch;s memoirs will prove to be a story no one will want to miss. At Kelly's, Sonny gives his father some good- natured grief when he catches Mike again flirting with Tammy. Later, out of Tammy's earshot, Sonny turns grimly serious as he warns Mike that the Recovery Room and the bike shop could become targets if Moreno declares open warfare on the docks.

Mac encourages Felicia to keep up the good work after reading the first part of her manuscript. Irritated to learn that his son has made plans to move out, Stefan firmly reminds Nikolas that his home is still on Spoon Island. As Michael continues his non-stop screaming, Ned berates A.J. for tearing the baby away from his one true parent. Sonny drops by to check on Jason and finds him still brooding alone in his empty penthouse. Disclosing how Emily offered to sneak him into the mansion, Jason tells his friend he knows he can't risk violating any court order but admits how strongly he's yearning to go comfort his terrified son. when Edward growls at Letitia again, Reginald once more leaps to the nany's defense. Tells a delighted Felicia she's changed her mind about writing those memoirs. Alan gives A.J. a badly needed pep talk and assures his son he will be a wonderful father to Michael.

After being interrogated by the Athens police, Jax and Alexis return to Listens office to search for clues but find that someone has already cleaned out the doctor's files. Lucky and Elizabeth help Nikolas scan the classified ads for a perfect apartment for the former prince. Tony tells Felicia how he came to be sporting a large bruise after his jaw connected with Jason's fist. Michael's caterwauling keeps everyone in the Quartermaine mansion awake all night. In the morning, Emily bitterly reminds her groggy grandfather that the baby is miserable because he's homesick for Jason. Meanwhile, Jason sits forlorn in his empty penthouse, haunted by the phantom cries of the child he's lost.

Luke negotiates a diamond sale to raise some quick cash. Laura and Stefan enjoy an intimate dinner at Windemere. Jax and Alexis arrive in Athens and discover Dr. Listerias lying dead on the floor of his office. Though Emily and Lila raise their voices in protest, A.J. demands that Jason surrender his son. Jason places a wailing Michael in Carly arms, then fights back tears as he says goodbye to the child he adores. Before her brother departs, Emily sadly promises Jason she'll watch over Michael as long as he stays under the Quartermaines roof. At Kelly's, Monica attempts to sweet talk Alan into returning home but he explains why he still doesn't feel steady enough to endure his family's manipulations.

Jax head to Athens to pay a surprise call on Listerias. A.J. tells a pleased Edward he has a private investigator watching Jason to make sure he doesn't try to escape with Michael again. Meanwhile, Monica goes to the penthouse to otter Jason her support, then is caught off guard when he refers to her as his mother and gently explains that he finally understands how much pain his leaving caused her. Upon being introduced to Laura, Tammy cheerfully informs her new acquaintance she~s heard lots about her from Luke. Edward eavesdrops as Felicia attempts to persuade Lila to let her write the story of her life. Jason tells Monica how sorry he is for the way he's hurt her.

Luke empties the sfte at the blues club, then tells Felicia he's leaving for Switzerland. Stefan demands an explanation when his son fails to return home but Nikolas avoids revealing that he spent another night with Katherine. Jax tells Alexis his people are still hunting for the Greek doctor who handled the delivery when Nikolas was born. Lucky thanks Tammy for keeping mum about the first time they met. Carly tells A.J. she's enrolled in an interior design class at PCU. Dr. Listeris finally contacts Alexis but claims he can provide no details of Nikolas birth except that it was a normal delivery with no complications. Though Bobbie tries to bolster his spirits, a gloomy Jason fears the warehouse fire was the last straw which will convince the courts to remove Michael from his care.

After complimenting Tammy on her culinary skills at Kelly's, Mike offers to return the favor by making her a home- cooked meal at his place that evening. Carly whines to Jason about her mother's lack of support but finds him in a highly unsympathetic mood. Laura and Lesley Lu bump into Bobbie and Lucas in the park. While their kids play on the swings, Laura tells her sister-in-law that she and Luke have separated. Puzzled by his grandmother's uncharacteristic refusal to have her life story written down for posterity, Ned promises Lila they can skip over any unpleasant chapters she doesn't wish to relive. Taking Alexis warning to heart, Jason explains to Carly why he's contemplating taking Michael out of the country and asks her to come along.

Still confident that he has the election in the bag, Justus taunts Dara about the fact that she's soon going to be working for him. Bobbie tells Felicia she's certain Jason is the best possible parent for little Michael. At the mansion, Emily angrily informs A.J. she's never going to forgive him if he uses the warehouse fire to hurt Jason. Meanwhile, Marcus presses Sonny and Jason, who refuse to play into his hands by implicating Moreno. After the detective leaves, Jason and Sonny compare notes and contemplate their next move. With his attorney by his side, A.J. asks Mac to turn over all the files on Jason's criminal activities. When Jason expresses doubt about Moreno's involvement, Sonny suggests that the Jax brothers might be behind the arson.
