Vanessa assures Lillian that Beth is not to blame for her marital problems with Matt. Lillian urges Vanessa to fight to save her marriage but Vanessa hints that she doesn't have the fight left in her. when both misunderstand the meeting time, Matt and Vanessa decide that the other wants to end their marriage. Matt runs to Spaulding to find her but ends up complaining to Beth. After getting some comforting words of support from Blake, Reva and the others, Hart goes under the knife. As Rick operates, Hart subconsciously fights in the ring of life to survive with both Cassie and "Angela" arguing over whether he wants to live or die. He survives the operation and is reunited with Cassie. When she receives word that Ben will be late, Blake calls Ross and leaves a message in hopes that he'll rush to be with her at the hospital.

Though Matt and Vanessa are happy to be back in each other's arms again, Vanessa denies that she cooperated with the police. She reveals that Billy helped bail her out. The topic of conversation turns to Beth which causes them to start arguing again. He then explains that if she wants to save their marriage, she should meet him at the Towers Club. David uses Vicky's Spaulding I.D. to gain access to a panicking nurse named Cynthia and records their conversation as she admits that she helped Alan cover up Ten's hospitalization. Falling for her phony cry for help, Alan meets with Annie but stuns her when he refuses to help her anymore. When her crocodile tears don't do the job, she turns vicious and threatens to tell the police how he arranged for the real Terri to be kidnapped.

Reva tries to talk Holly from jumping off the bridge and pulls her to safety when she slips and falls. Hearing Josh nearby, Holly begins to panic. when Reva slips and falls, Holly and Josh help her get back to her feet. When Alan calls Annie an addiction that he is trying to kick; Phillip suggests that he start by giving Lewis oil back to the Lewis family. Calling and threatening him if he fails to show, Ben meets with Annie again and is amused as she complains about the way she's been treated since she saved the children. Hearing that Alan is furious that she broke out of jail, Ben advises her that if Alan is not on her side, he's not going to be her attorney. Annie then turns on the tears and calls Alan to set up a meeting.

Handing him the note Reva left for him, Mrs. Paige the psychic warns Josh that Reva is in serious trouble. After Josh leaves, the other parents discover where their children are and leave Matt and Beth behind to wait for any phone calls. Annie leaves Reva to deal with Holly. She rushes outside to the van and drives off with the children, taking them to the truck stop where she asks Murray the truck driver for a favor. Josh stops her and is relieved to see Shayne, Tammy and all the other kids are safe. Annie pleads with him to let her go. Realizing that she has lost the children, Holly decides she has no reason to live and runs out. She heads to a nearby bridge where Reva tries to stop her.

When Michelle refuses to make love to him, Danny assures her of his feelings for her but then doesn't press her to consummate their marriage. Thanks to a call from Drew, the FBI raids the Santos' home in an effort to give Michelle the distraction she needs. Holly slips a sedative into each cup of hot chocolate for the children and Ken as she moves forward with her deranged plans for them. Worried about the children, Annie calls Reva to report that she has found them at a camp outside of town. Reva leaves a note for Josh after failing to reach his cell phone and takes off into the night. Reva rushes to the camp which is now empty. Worried that help did not arrive, Annie returns to the camp where Reva assumes she has been set up. Holly then shows up at the camp as well.

As Danny dances with his new bride, Rick admits to Abby that seeing Michelle so happy he now thinks this marriage is for real. Hearing Danny announce their upcoming honeymoon plans, Michelle realizes that she has to go to bed with Danny. Holly denies to the children that she was going to poison them but, with Lizzie and Shayne backing her up, Susan announces that they are going to leave. Holly stops them in their tracks by claiming that she is the only person left to help them. Ken then forces them upstairs. After escaping from the Springfield jail thanks to the fire in her cell, Annie convinces Murray the truck driver to take her out of town after lying about why she was in jail. However, even her sweet, flirtatious words can't convince Murray to take her out of town. Later, Annie stumbles upon the camp and phones Reva to tell her where the kids are.

As the guests arrive for the wedding, Michelle cries to Drew that she doesn't think she can go through with this. Drew pushes her to marry Danny as planned and follow up with whatever happens on their wedding night. With Jesse secretly watching and only daydreaming about interfering, Michelle and Danny are married in a ceremony at the house. Afterwards, Drew promises Michelle that she will act as her go-between and call the FBI. Holly tells the kids to prepare to put on a show at the camp. Susan confides to Lizzie that she thinks that Holly has been lying to them because she knows her father would never give permission for her to go on an overnight trip. Susan overhears Ken confronting Holly about the sedatives and comes up with an escape plan.

Michelle assures Danny that she wants him to throw away the box of memories Jesse dropped off. Carmen sees her react to the contents of the box and accuses her again of pretending to be in love with her son. Michelle denies it and agrees to wear Carmen's wedding dress. After Danny angrily orders him to stay away from Michelle, Jesse decides that he will attend Michelle's church wedding. Marah explains to Frank and the others how Holly used Eleni's catering van to take all of the children away and admits that she had too much homework to go on the trip. Buzz goes ballistic when he learns that Blake and Ben knew that Holly was mentally unstable. Frank later explains to the parents of the missing children that records show Holly bought a huge supply of sedatives.

Josh and Billy are astounded when Bill admits that he thinks Annie has changed. Josh explains that Annie tried to kill Reva by leaving her in a burning building. Selena blames herself when Buzz and Frank find no sign of the kids and Frank reveals that Holly is the nursery rhyme stalker. Harly, Josh and Reva learn that Holly took their kids. Meanwhile, Holly piles the kids in a van and assures them that their parents gave them the okay for the surprise trip. Angela the nurse assures Cassie that she will take good care of Hart. when Jim admits that he remembers her from her stripping days, Cassie asks him to forget about her past as she has done. He hints that it will be hard for him to do and reminds her that she helped him clear his head one particularly dark night.

Jim begins his first day of work as an accountant at Spaulding but warns Phillip that if he or Harley ever go behind his back to manipulate him or his daughter, they will quickly leave town. Later, he runs into Cassie and remembers her from his past. Reva is touched when she finally meets her granddaughter Susan. Hart tries to send Cassie home to rest. He later is amazed to see a vision of an angel who offers him advice. Matt asks Beth to change her story to the police about Dinah's escape so that Vanessa will be released from jail. When she refuses, he questions her why she wants Vanessa left in jail. While Blake blames Ben for Holly taking her twins, Frank reports that Holly emptied her bank accounts and her safe deposit box which contained her passport.

On the run from the police, Holly brings Ken to Camp Cayuga where they spent many summer weeks growing up and having fun. She explains that the deserted place is the perfect place for her to help the children. He thinks it's a bad idea but she smiles and admits that it's too late for him to back out. Convincing Blake that it's the only choice they have left now that Holly has escaped from the mental institution, Ben stuns Frank with the news that Holly is the nursery rhyme stalker. Later, after blasting Ben for telling the police, Blake becomes frantic when she realizes that Holly has kidnapped the twins. Danny stuns Michelle with his decision that they will consummate their marriage after the wedding ceremony.

Susan does her best to convince Harley to allow her to stay at the Spaulding mansion for another day so she can have fun with Lizzie. Offered a job as an accountant at Spaulding with a huge weekly salary, Jim accepts Phillip's offer and decides to move to Springfield with his daughter. Ken asks Buzz for a job at the diner but Buzz reminds him he put a knife to his daughter's throat. Holly asks Ken for help. As they wait in Hart's room, Cassie confides to Blake that the doctors cannot operate on Hart until he is stronger. When he finally wakes, Cassie pleads with Hart to fight for his life. Ben reports to Blake that Holly has broken out of the mental health clinic and is on the loose. Selena talks up to Jesse Drew's date last night with the handsome man on track to earn his masters degree.

Matt ends up at the Spaulding mansion and boasts to Beth that he has ended things with Vanessa and will be moving out tomorrow. When Beth asks him why he's there with her, she admits that a most recent talk with Phillip has cleared her head where the two of them are concerned and she guesses that he will soon be back with his wife. Just after Reva tries to explain to Billy why Josh's mind hasn't been on work lately, Alan steps up and announces that he is now in control of Lewis oil. He makes the "generous" offer of giving back the shares of stock he bought in exchange for Josh and Reva agreeing not to testify against Annie. Though Reva complains, Josh makes the deal with Alan who is unaware that the Lewis clan has pulled a fast one.

Blake lays into Ben for defending a killer like Annie and finally backs off when Ben explains that he can be her attorney the same reason he can handle Holly's case. Meanwhile, before her hearing, Annie is relieved and amused to hear from Alan that he has offered Ben Lewis oil if he can clear Annie of all charges. outside the courtroom, Josh warns Alan that he' 5 made an enemy he'll soon regret. Instead of turning Dinah into the police, Matt holds on to her outside Cedar's and calls Vanessa who claims that she'll turn her in. However, she quick~ly drives off with her daughter just as Beth spots them leave. Vanessa arranges for her daughter to exit Springfield and go to the convent in Lucerne.

Shocked to find a hungover Jesse sleeping it off at Drew's place, Michelle explains to Drew that she intends to "bring down" the Santos family, including Danny. Insisting that she hasn't slept with Danny, Michelle also warns her not to date Jesse because he'll always love her more. When Jesse comes out of the shower, Drew turns him down when he suggests they go out on a date. Vanessa explains to Matt that she needs to keep the police from finding Dinah because she has vowed to kill herself. After Rick convinces Cassie to leave to get some rest, Dinah slips into Hart's hospital room unseen. She tries to convince him that Cassie was to blame for the shooting, insisting that Cassie was telling lies and threatened to tell him the same lies.

When Matt finds the bloody rag, Vanessa lies to cover for her daughter. Frank arrives and announces that he's looking for Dinah because she shot Hart. Relieved to hear Hartr is not dead, Vanessa continues to hide Dinah. Later, Dinah decides to visit Hartr in the hospital. Rick reports to Cassie and the others that Hartr is out of surgery but is still in danger. He reveals that they found a bullet close to his heart that they were unable to remove at this time. Cassie convinces Rick to allow her a moment with Hartr who lies unconscious in recovery. Ross can't believe it when he hears what Dinah has done. Holly meets her therapist Marge and finally realizes that she's not in an alcoholic rehab place but is in a mental institution that keeps her door locked, thanks to Ben.

In spite of Michelle's frantic pleading not to enter the lighthouse bedroom they once shared, Jesse does so and is rocked to see Michelle trying to hide half-naked body and Danny in their bed. She claims that she wanted to share everything with her new husband including this magical place. Jesse walks out, leaving Michelle to cry to Danny about what she has done and what kind of future she now faces. Vanessa worries to Matt about what may happen to her daughter now that she spilled the beans about Laura's father. Matt offers to go looking for her. Hart bursts into the living room at the farm just as Cassie tells a gun-toting Dinah that Rob is the father of her dead baby. Vowing to kill her to stop her, Dinah shoots but hits Hart in the back as he jumps to protect Cassie.
