Jax tells Stefan how Helena tried to kill him and arranged to make it look like an accident. Nikolas admires the lifelike portrait of his brother after Elizabeth's paintings are returned from the art academy. Surprised to learn the identity of his captor, Lucky recalls hearing that the man was long gone. Reminding the boy how rumors of one's death can be greatly exaggerated, Faison informs an astonished Lucky that his own "demise" is even now sending waves of grief through the residents of Port Charles. Felicia arrives at Chloe Morgan's suite but quickly encounters resistance from the designer's zealous assistant. A.J. turns to Alan for advice on marriage.

Emily calls on Nikolas at his new office and finds him still brooding over his brother's untimely demise. At Kelly's, Mac tells Bobbie and Elizabeth how the fire really started. Certain Luke wants nothing more to do with him, Sonny drops by the blues club with papers dissolving their partnership. Luke reveals that the fire has been officially declared an accident, then rips up the documents Sonny placed on the bar. Jax suggests to a suspicious Katherine that she sell her ELQ stock back to him so she can concentrate fully on her own company's profit margin. Determined to prove that Sonny and Jason's coffee business is a front, Marcus refuses to believe the arson investigator's report.

Though Tammy gently pushes him to prove his friendship to Luke by staying close, Sonny remains certain that the grieving father wants nothing more to do with him. Bobbie shows Luke the mess she found in Lucky's old room at the Spencer house. On Spoon Island, Laura tells Stefan she feels completely numb. Carly eavesdrops as A.J. discloses to his pleased grandfather how he leaked the story about Jason to the newspaper. Lila tells Felicia that she was engaged to another man when she met Edward. As Luke sifts through the wreckage of his son's room, Bobbie encourages her brother to keep all the mementos of Lucky he can find. When Laura calls home, Luke admits he had the same destructive impulse she acted upon and promises to keep Lulu from seeing the damage. Mac tells Luke and Laura that the fire was an accident not arson. Meanwhile Lucky tries desperately to make contact with the outside world through his computer while someone watches through a video camera.

Sitting alone in the church, Elizabeth prays for a way to accept the fact that Lucky is really gone while alone in a locked room a very much alive Lucky demands to see his captor and demands his release. A gloomy Sonny warns Hannah to steer clear of him if she hopes to live a long, full life. Stunned to spot Luke and Tammy in a passionate clinch, Laura slips unseen out of the blues club. Jason returns to the Quartermaine mansion late at night to check on Carly, who tearfully confides how her cousin's death has forced her to reassess some of her priorities. Nikolas tracks down Elizabeth at the church and admits that he, too, cannot believe that he'll never see his brother again. Carly urges Jason to set aside his feelings of guilt and move on. Felicia hurries back to Port Charles after hearing about the Spencers' tragic loss.

Sonny insists on seeing Hannah safely home from the club in his limousine. During a cozy dinner for two on Spoon Island, Laura is excited to learn that Stefan has made plans for them to vacation in Paris. Across town, Luke spends an enjoyable evening bonding with Lesley Lu while Nikolas remains at a respectful distance. Awakening from a bad dream, Elizabeth listens anxiously to the wailing of sirens as fire trucks speed past in the night. Meanwhile, Mac and Marcus fear the worst as they watch the garage go up in flames. Jason yanks away from Carly's kiss and vanishes into the shrubbery just in time to avoid being spotted by A.J. Sonny dodges Hannah's questions about his profession but decides to truthfully disclose how he became a widower.

Somewhere in the Sahara desert, Jax and Alexis huddle together under their one blanket and wait for the sun to rise. Meanwhile, Jerry prepares to make another flight over the coastline when the first search proves fruitless. Fending off yet another dinner invitation from his dad, Sonny continues to rebuff Mike's on-going attempts to bond with him. Carly warns an exasperated Jason that Hannah is just using him. Laura is pleased to find both of her sons playing happily with their kid sister. After Nikolas heads out with Lesley Lu, Lucky thanks his tearful mother for giving him the gift of love. Carly sees red when she spots Hannah chatting with Jason again at the blues club.

A dejected A.J. complains to Alan that his own son treats him like a pariah and wants comforting only from the man he loves- -Jason. Katherine feels the first twinges of jealousy when Nikolas unveils the company's new summer marketing campaign built entirely around Dainya and announces that he'll be touring the country alongside the pretty new "Face of Deception". Lucky explains to Jason why he won't be needing his room above the bike shop once autumn rolls around. Bobbie assures Tony she doesn't t fault him for a chance encounter with Lucas in the halls of GH. Alan asks A.J. not to force Tony to testify about Jason's brain injury or any lasting after-effects.

Following the crash, Alexis manages to extricate herself from the wreckage of the helicopter and cries out for Jax. In New York, Lucky and Elizabeth begin to give in to their urges as their kisses grow more passionate. Sensing some hesitation, Lucky pulls back and assures Elizabeth he can wait until she's truly ready to take the next step. Sonny tells Hannah she's obviously unsuited for a career as a paid escort and encourages the angry young woman to let him help her find a better way to make a living. Stefan and Laura share a romantic moment atop the highest point of Spoon Island. Sonny and Jason encourage Hannah to try her hand waiting tables at the blues club.

Carly attempts to convince Sonny that every stunt she has pulled was always for Jason. Explaining her plan to marry A.J. and then ruin him, Carly claims that she will file for sole custody and then make sure that no Quartermaine will ever get his or her hands on Michael again. Sonny, however, remains unimpressed. Elizabeth confides to Emily that she finally feels ready to take a leap and make love with Lucky. Nikolas admits to his brother that the only reason he got the job at Deception was because he is sleeping with the CEO. Theorizing that the files they retrieved were only a decoy, Jax suggests to Alexis that Helena's real secrets lie hidden in Cairo.

Tony confides to Felicia the quandary he's in now that A.J. is pressing him to testify against Jason. When Elizabeth grows nervous about sending her paintings through the mail, Lucky suggests that they go to New York and hand deliver the art work themselves. Katherine shows Nikolas around Deception's new suite of offices and tempts him with an offer to become the company's chief of public relations. Jax tries to buy his way out of trouble but soon finds himself staring down the barrel of a gun. Alexis arrives and warns Helena's goons she was sent personally by their boss to retrieve her nephews's medical records. Katherine assures Nikolas she isn't handing him a cushy job just because they're sleeping together.

Offering her advice before the board meeting, Stefan suggests to Laura that she use a pie chart to help win Edward's support for her project's budget at the hospital. He then stuns her with his decision to step down from the board now that the hospital no longer needs his help. She tries to convince him to stay for the sake of the staff and pushes him to realize that he has a talent for helping people. Helena approaches Luke for information about Alexis' whereabouts in Europe and makes a dig about Laura when he laughs at the idea of helping her. Alexis and Jax arrive in Geneva and are stymied when they try to get copies of Nikolas' medical records.

While waiting tables at Jake's, Hannah recognizes Sonny as the man who saved her from the mugger. On the docks, Jason watches from his hiding place as Marcus and his officers bust up Moreno's operation. Carly observes A.J. paying the arsonist ten thousand dollars for his role in eliminating Jason's coffee warehouse. Hannah thanks Sonny for his help the other night and apologizes for running off without saying a word. Later, however, when Sonny comes to her assistance yet again, Hannah angrily informs her customer she doesn't need him to keep rescuing her. Thinking back on all the adventures they shared during the early days of their friendship, Emily tells Lucky how much she's going to miss him when he and Elizabeth move off to the Big Apple.

Elizabeth surprises Lucky with a special April FoolÕs Day dinner, complete with candlelight and romantic ambiance. Alexis drops by the cottage and asks Nikolas to put his money where his mouth is when it comes to resolving the Cassadine clan's internal conflicts. Explaining her interest in proving that Helena defrauded the family, Alexis claims she~s not after Stefan~s hide but Nikolas remains wary of signing on to her scheme. Audrey congratulates Laura on her new job with the youth outreach program. Bobbie urges her exasperated daughter not to make the same mistake with A.J. that she herself made when she married Stefan. Luke suggests to Felicia a reason why Edward might be trying so hard to sabotage her research for Lila's memoirs.
