Stefano surprises Marlena with a visit in Hawaii. Bo overhears Stefano's offer of help and orders him to get out. Marlena guesses that Stefano is telling the truth this time. When he asks to see her compact, John becomes upset when Gina reveals that she doesn't have it with her. He complains that the key to the safety deposit box is hidden inside the compact. When trouble develops with the submarine, they are forced to surface and are shocked to come face-to-face with a smiling Stefano. Eric is surprised when Brandon introduces himself as Nicole's brother. Greta invites Brandon to have lunch with them at the pool hall where they later share a dance.

An almost bankrupt Claire advises her daughter to stop worrying about making Carrie pay and instead, concentrate on winning big bucks from the hospital. Ali boasts to Carrie that she passed her psychiatric exam and intends to tell the whole world about Carrie's affair with Mike. Carrie advises Mickey that her relationship with Mike is strictly professional. Austin arrives and overhears Carrie admitting that she will always be there for him. Eoping to insure Austin's marriage is over, Sami urges Austin to see the marriage counselor with Carrie. Thrilled to have John back, Gina boasts to herself that she is not going to let anyone spoil her plans. John explains to Gina that he hated his life as "Roman" with the children and vows never to let her go.

Greta, Billie and Eric are there for Bo who mentions Hope's devastating note. When Bo hears from his art expert that the seascape painting was actually painted only a few days ago, he guesses that Hope is now Gina and has been programmed to hurt people. The person calling for help in the Hawaiian waters injects John which makes him unconscious. He's then placed in a net and pulled to a waiting submarine where Eope waits for him. Marlena prays as she fears that John is now in danger. Rolf tells Stefano that at a New Year's Eve party in 1985, Gina was drunk and screaming at the guests because she was upset John was sent to Europe. Stefano demands that they search for the missing Gina but is interrupted by Bo.
