Stefano assures Vivian that Marlena is in the past and that he only loves her. When she mentions his promise to give her his Titan stock, he starts looking for the remote control device again but fails to find it. She calls Celeste who rushes over with the control. The two are frustrated when Stefano refuses to leave them alone to talk. Marlena worries to John about the possibility of Hope ending up the same way Gina did. Greta accuses Hope of not being fair to Bo. She suggests that Hope is afraid to make a commitment to Bo because she's in love with someone else but Hope states that her unresolved past is holding her back. When Greta mentions John and Marlena's wedding plans, Hope mumbles that John will never be happy with Marlena.

Though Austin worries about their plan, Billie and Austin come up with an idea to try to help Sami. Questioned by Roman and shown a photo of Austin and will, Tracey claims that she can't help him. When she lies that she doesn't know where Sami is, Roman asks her where she lives. Austin drives by and is shocked to see them talking. He rushes to Sami and insists that they must leave immediately. Eric and Billie head back to the Blue Note to find the mobsters. Billie then manages to get the attention of one man who hands her one of his business cards. As Eric and Billie dance, they spot Roberto gabbing with the mobster. Kate warns Nicole that she's not going to allow her to use her son and boasts that she knows all about her past.

Vivian guesses to Ivan and Celeste that Stefano wants something in the townhouse. She searches the fireplace and finds a box containing Jonesy's first will which leaves everything to Stefano. Celeste reminds them that Kristen was hiding Peter in the house when he was wanted by the police and guesses that all of the treasures there are stolen. The three agree that Jonesy must have been acting as Stefano's front man. Bart calls Stefano to advise him where he can find Hope. At the dinner in her new gown, Hope orders Gina's favorite champagne and a toast is made to Greta. Stefano enters just as Hope and John dance a waltz. John then calls Hope "Gina." Bo and Greta argue over whether Hope is her mother.

A scheming Hope announces that she is not feeling well and won't be attending the dinner tonight. Bo confides to Alice that he would do all he can to fight for Hope but he doesn't really know who he has to fight. After almost letting slip that she is Gina, Hope invites Lily to attend the dinner with her. Greta reminisces about the time her mother went out with Father John. Everyone stares in disbelief as Hope enters the Tuscany restaurant, dressed as Gina once did. Stefano is furious when he enters the basement of the townhouse and realizes that Hope has not been working on the paintings. Tracey drives Sami to the Green Mountain Lodge so that she can see that Austin is with Carrie.

Vivian spots Stefano using the remote control device and quickly changes her mood to fool him into thinking she's still got the electronic mood enhancer implanted in her jaw. She then gets her hands on the device and leaves with it. Hope asks Lily to call a dressmaker to come to the house to make her a dress for the dinner tonight. John takes Greta shopping for a dress for tonight and calls to ask Marlena for help. Upset that he's with Greta again, Marlena advises John that she will never let him go. Austin fails to see Mike and Carrie kissing in her room at the lodge. Mike pulls back from the kiss and claims he's stopping because he loves her. Carrie confesses that she loves him too.

Worried about what Kate might do with Nicole's secrets, Lucas makes plans to alter the detective's report on Nicole. Kate then lectures her son not to trust Nicole. Nicole is surprised when Eric admits that she is the first woman he's made love to. She later joins him in the shower. Lucas brings roses to Nicole who agrees to meet him later. She then gives the roses to Eric and claims they are from her. Kate learns that the detective dropped off his report and it was taken by Lucas. While Mike finally arrives at the Green Mountain Lodge and rushes to be with Carrie, Austin finds he can't get in to see her because of the police swarming the lodge. Mike and Carrie share a passionate kiss.

Lexie hints to Abe that she finally might be pregnant. Abe is thrilled but she admits that she's not one hundred percent certain until the test results come back. Dr. Bader meets with Lexie to give her the news. Stefano becomes worried when he overhears Vivian mention to Ivan and Celeste her feeling that Stefano has been controlling her. She covers when he finds them looking for the remote control device. She and Stefano then get into a huge argument during which Vivian reminds him of his promise to give her his shares in Titan. When he claims that he can't do it at this time because of her wild mood swings, she threatens to see an attorney. He worries when he uses the remote control device and nothing happens to Vivian.

At the mall Hope remembers being Gina and the special time she spent with John. John eyes a gown in a store window and is reminded of Gina. Hope spots him looking at some art work and tells herself that John will remember her. Worried that Vivian got him drunk on purpose, Rolf offers Stefano a concoction to help him handle his hangover. Vivian, Celeste and Ivan search the townhouse for Stefano's remote control box. Bo surprises Greta with a gift of a mirror and comb set. She reveals what happened when Hope stopped by and admits that she felt like she was talking with her mother. She adds that she started to cry when she thought that John had left her.

Carrie complains to Marlena that it was Austin's idea to take Sami. Marlena comforts her daughter as Carrie decides to get away for a few days. Mike calls Marlena to ask where Carrie might be, finding out she left town to be alone. When she pulls away from her attempt to kiss her, Lucas boasts to Nicole that he will wait for her to come to her senses where their future is concerned. He then starts to read the report his mother ordered on Nicole. When Roberto lies that one of the guys at the bar is with the mob, Eric moves in closer to listen to him talk to his "friends." When he hears them mention going to the Blue Note, he follows them, taking along a reluctant Nicole, who has asked to go home.

Greta asks John and Marlena if they can do another hypnosis session tomorrow. "Gina" goes to the hospital to see Greta. Stefano tells Bo that he had nothing to do with Hope's memories of Gina, he only helped her after her accident. Sami worries to Tracey about where Austin might be. Meanwhile, Carrie begs the police not to shoot at her husband as Austin hides from them. Ali tells Craig she can never forgive Mike for humiliating her in front of her mother.

Marlena hypnotizes John again to help him find his past. Offering to help, Greta recounts to John that Gina taught Father John how to dance so they could attend a charity ball together. John then lies to Marlena that he didn't remember anything and wonders to himself what Gina means to him. Vivian reminds a tipsy Stefano that he promised to give her his shares of Titan stock. She also asks him what is going on between him and Hope. He downplays his new friendship with Hope and claims that Vivian is the only woman for him. Lucas boasts to Nicole that he's having a friend send some movie scripts over and hints that they would make a great team. She shatters his plans by admitting that she's in love with Eric.

John updates Marlena on what he and Hope have learned about his past. Marlena apologizes for not being more supportive about his efforts to uncover his past. As they snuggle together, John announces that it is time for them to set a wedding date. Hope stops by the Horton house where she finds Bo armed with information about Gina' past. He reveals that the mystery woman stopped using her credit cards in 1990. Bo also mentions that Gina spent a lot of time at a certain hotel in Rome and suggests that the two of them fly there to see what they can find out about Gina. Nicole is torn when Lucas asks her out for the night and she reveals that she's already agreed to go out with Eric.

Kate explains to Austin how the mob was out to make Franco pay for what happened in Italy and that's why she thinks they killed Franco. She urges him not to throw away his life for someone like Sami. Lucas accuses him of dumping Carrie for Sami. Abe lets Roman know that the surveillance tape at the hospital parking lot shows that Carrie was saved by Austin. Mike keeps Carrie calm as she waits in the stalled elevator. When the elevator finally returns to service, she thanks Mike for keeping her company. Ali's mother boasts that her daughter had to settle for being a nurse when she could have been a doctor. Craig turns on the charm and flatters her mother as they wait for Mike who finally arrives for dinner.

Billie walks into the Titan photo lab and finds Austin snooping. Eric and Billie help him hide in the heating vent when Lucas interrupts. He crawls toward the vents in Kate's office and starts recording as Kate talks with her son. Lucas again reminds her that they could save Sami if they simply told the truth. Ali daydreams of having a bridal shower for her and Mike at the hospital. She then invites Craig and Nancy to join her mother and Mike for dinner. After her mother apologizes for blaming her for the troubles in her marriage, Carrie complains to Marlena that Austin had a choice to make and he chose to be with Sami. She then overhears Mike confide to Marlena that he would not desert Carrie like Austin has.

At her place, Eric and Nicole make love. She suggests that they keep their relationship quiet at work. Gregory hints to Lucas that the courts would look favorably on him if he were married but Kate doesn't like his choice of Nicole as a wife. Nicole arrives at work and overhears Kate on the phone with her private detective and realizes that she's having her investigated. Austin arrives at Titan to spy on Lucas and his mother. Meanwhile, the person with the rifle suddenly bursts into the cabin where Sami is hiding. Eric is surprised to find Austin at Titan. Ali's mother Claire pays her daughter a visit and immediately starts to harangue her on her career.

When Mike finds her in a bad mood, Carrie argues with him that Ali is scheming behind his back to get him into her bed. Mike tries to deny it and admits that he called it quits with Ali because he's in love with Carrie. Ali calls her mystery stalker and advises him that she may use him again for another job. Greta is thrilled when her bandages are removed and she sees how most of her scars have vanished. Bo assures her that the worst is over while John suggests that she's going to have men start hounding her for dates. Marlena complains to Roman that she doesn't trust Greta because she thinks she's connected to Stefano. Vivian hears a noise in the basement but is called away by Dr. Woo.

Roman and Billie wake the morning after making love and admit they have no regrets over what they did. Marlena's caught off guard to hear John yell at his son for teasing his sister but is calmed when John later apologizes to his son. At Roman's place, Marlena is startled to find Billie coming downstairs. Marlena's surprised when Roman admits that this is not the first time he has slept with Billie. Bo mentions to Alice his fear that Hope will not rest until she can put the life of Gina out of her mind. When Alice sees Hope, she comments that she seems different to her. Hope agrees to meet Stefano at the townhouse so she can return to the life she loved in Europe.
