Thinking that Vivian is resting upstairs, Stefano talks with Rolf about their plans. Meanwhile, Vivian comes downstairs and is bothered again by voices emanating from her mouth. She decides to call a dentist. Stefano finds her in the foyer and takes her to the living room for a dance. Shawn- Douglas tells his father on the phone that he needs help. Bo quick'ly calls Abe who orders a phone tap placed on Bo and Hope's phone. Bo then decides to confront Stefano who he feels is behind the kidnaping. Alli talks with Laura about her relationship with Mike. Nancy and Craig then explain to Laura that they thought Mike broke up with Alli.

Victor asks Kate to remain with him and warns Lucas to stay away from Sami. He then confides to Kate that he can't stop thinking about that memorable New Year's Eve they spent together. Lucas calls an attorney to get the adoption papers ready as requested. He then promises himself that he is going to make sure Sami gets what she deserves and that he ends up with Nicole. After he kisses her, Eric declares to Nicole that he wants a future with her but is disturbed to see that Lucas has gotten to her somehow. Lucas shows up at the apartment and boasts to Nicole that he has planned a night for her that she will never forget. Abe explains to Roman that he can't prove that Sami did not shoot Franco.

A perturbed Carrie asks Austin to explain why Sami had the gun if she didn't shoot Franco. She claims that Sami is ruining their relationship just as she has done in the past. Sami tells Marlena and Roman that she thinks Franco might have grabbed the gun when he found a drunk Lucas trying to remove will from the house. She continues with her theory that Lucas fought with Franco for the gun and eventually shot him dead. Roman's intrigued by the possibility and decides to bring Lucas in for more questioning. Mike is unsettled when Alli gives him a watch engraved with the inscription "All My Love Forever." Alli boasts to Mike that his kiss didn't lie to her about the way he truly feels.

Stefano explains to Rolf that they must come up with a way to kill Vivian without making anything look suspicious. Ivan and Celeste arrive and hear Vivian reveal how she tried to jump off the ledge but Stefano saved her life. Kate and Lucas visit with Victor who stares at them without speaking. Kate explains everything that has been going on with Sami and states that they must unite as a family. Victor suddenly responds and mumbles the word "yes." Hope thinks of herself as Gina and finally realizes the man in her dream who makes her feel so safe is actually Stefano. John surprises Greta with a snow globe. She thanks him for it and reminds him of the one he gave her years ago that she accidentally broke.

Vivian writes out her will, directing her artwork to go to Ivan, John and Celeste. Meanwhile, Stefano tells Rolf that Gina is the only person who can protect his treasures. Vivian freaks out when she starts hearing music coming from her mouth again. Rolf shows Stefano a device he has created that will reveal the painting that was painted over by Gina. Meanwhile, Bo, Hope and Lily discuss Lily's stolen paintings that have yet to surface. Nancy has fun forcing Craig to sit on Santa's lap at the mall while a photo is snapped. The two stop laughing when they spot Carrie kissing Austin. Giving an excuse for why he ended things with her, Mike explains to Ali that he still has memories of his first wife Robin.

When Marlena goes on and on about her fears about their marriage, Carrie suggests that she concentrate on Sami. The court adjourns for the Christmas holiday. When she announces that she is not staying in Salem, Eric assures Candy that the jet will bring her to town whenever she is scheduled to testify. While they dine, Alli boasts to Mike that everyone who knows of their relationship thinks they should be together except him. He again reminds her that they are just friends but she kisses him anyway.

When she stops by Mickey's place to see Mike, Laura allows Ali to wait by herself downstairs. Anxious and curious, she heads upstairs where she surprises Mike when he finally comes home. After seeing her with Mike again, Marlena warns Carrie that she's going to have to choose between her love for her job and her marriage. Carrie insists that she loves Austin. Lucas thanks Maggie for her support with AA but he states that he needs something else to help him. Nicole stops by and cheers up Lucas. She's surprised to hear that Carrie is having second thoughts about the idea of raising will. Lucas warns Nicole that Eric's just as much a loser as his twin sister.

While Christmas shopping, Mike runs into Carrie and they decide to have some fun in the snow during which they almost share a kiss. Craig warns Ali that Mike will never love her because he's hopelessly in love with Carrie. Austin complains to Marlena that Carrie doesn't really want Sami's son being raised in their house. Marlena later spots Carrie in Mike's arms at the mall. Bo explains to Hope that Mickey has drawn up the divorce papers to end his marriage to Billie. Getting those papers in the mail, Billie daydreams about what Christmas would have been like if her baby had lived. She then throws the papers away and warns Hope that she should not make her wedding plans just yet.

Mike's upset when he finds his office filled with flowers and heart-shaped balloons. He shoves them into a closet and then tells Ali that their relationship is over. Ali vows not to give up on him. Craig hears Mike complain that he can't get through to Ali. On the stand Carrie testifies that her sister does not like Lucas and does not want him to be in his son's life. She confirms that she heard Sami stare at Franco's lifeless body and announce that he deserved to die. After she states that she loves her sister, the D.A. points out that when Sami is angry, she strikes back. Carrie later tells Austin that it was his promise to Sami that they would make a loving home to Will, not her.

Vivian invites Celeste to sing before the marriage ceremony gets underway. The nurse at Greenhaven calls Stefano to warn him that John has discovered that Vivian is gone and is on his way. Stefano decides to move the wedding. John calls and demands that the air traffic controllers stop all air traffic in Salem. Stefano realizes what John is up to and hires a hot air balloon to use for his getaway. As they take off in the balloon, the drugs wear off Celeste and Ivan who hang from the bottom of the balloon's gondola. A frustrated John watches as the balloon rises into the air. Eric warns Taylor that Lucas has her and Nicole brainwashed. Lucas is surprised to receive a subpoena to testify at the trial.

Vivian suffers a nightmare in which all of her friends are ganging up against her. When she wakes screaming, Stefano is there to comfort her. Ivan is drugged and accompanies Celeste to the house. Stefano and Vivian stand together as the wedding ceremony gets underway. John worries when he learns that Vivian is missing from Greenhaven. He calls Ivan who reports that Stefano and Vivian are tying the knot. Lily talks with Hope and Bo about Stefano. Lily confesses her feeling that if Hope were the real Gina, she doesn't think that she would be with Bo. Kate tells Alec that Lucas will run Titan one day and warns that Nicole is not to be trusted. Eric complains to Taylor about Lucas and wonders aloud how anyone can like him.

Marlena suffers from a nightmare in whick John is with Greta and doesn't recognize Marlena anymore. When Marlena hypnotizes John, Greta helps John remember more from his past. As she helps Lucas with his exercises, Taylor asks Lucas why he broke his probation to go to the courtroom. He claims that he wanted to help Sami. Kate interrupts Lucas as he mentions to Taylor that he once saw Franco when he was acting violent. He takes his mother aside and asks her how she can be such a cold person. She responds by declaring that she will do whatever it takes to protect him. Roman gets nowhere when he asks Sami about her relationship with Rate. Rolf works on his computer and states that Hope will become Gina again during the next lunar eclipse.

Celeste advises Vivian to put her faith in John to do what's best for her. Stefano uses his connection at Greenhaven to give Celeste a potion in her tea. Celeste then agrees to do whatever Stefano tells her to do and wheels Vivian outside where Rolf and Stefano are waiting. Stefano then orders Celeste to go back to Vivian's room and sleep in her bed. Lucas is relieved when he's not ordered to go back to jail for driving without permission but six months more of probation is added to his term. Roman admits to Kate that he finds her attractive. Eric tries to help Sami remember the night of the shooting but she has no luck. Sami states that she does not want Kate to testify on her behalf.

Though Marlena apologizes for blaming her for Stefano's presence, Greta admits that she can't trust Marlena even knowing what Father John has told her. She insists that she is not working for Stefano's. Roman advises Kate that if Lucas tells the truth on the stand, he'll make sure that Lucas is not prosecuted for withholding evidence. Kate doesn't like the idea and tells her son it's a trap. Worried that his mother could end up in jail, Lucas tells Roman he did not see or hear anything the night Franco was killed. Abe takes the stand and testifies that Sami woke in the hospital and asked what she had done before stating that someone deserved to die. He also reveals that only Sami's fingerprints were found on the gun.

In court Lucas offers to address the judge and jury but collapses. Sami blames Lucas for what has happened though Mickey urges her not to say anything. Kate talks with her son and warns that Sami may go free if he says anything or if Candy the stripper's testimony is effective. Lucas responds that he must do what is best for will. Meanwhile, a suspicious Sami confides to Eric her feeling that Lucas knows something and she vows to find out what it is. Ali complains to Craig that she thinks Carrie is the reason Mike ended their relationship. When he says that she deserves better, Ali insists that there is no one better for her. Craig then suggests that she consider suing Mike for harassment.

Ali blasts Mike for using her and asks why he had sex with her if he didn't love her. Embarrassed, Mike doesn't know what to say but does claim that he never meant to use her. Craig sees how upset Ali is and learns that Mike ended things with her. Craig assures her that if she needs someone to talk with, he's there for her. As Sami's trial begins, Austin confirms that he heard Sami say she was going "to kill the bastard" with regards to Franco the night he was killed but calls her a good person and a good mother. He insists that she could never commit murder. Roman reveals to Kate about Candy the stripper. Kate declares to Roman that she never saw a violent side to Franco.

Mike stuns Ali with the news that he doesn't see a future between them. While he cares for her as a friend, he insists that a friendship is all they can have. Greta talks with John about her past with him and how much they shared together. Kate suggests to Austin that once Sami is in prison, he's going to be visiting her, leaving will to a life that he doesn't deserve. She adds that Carrie's going to have to find comfort from another man. Candy the stripper confesses to Sami that Franco once started to choke her when she made a joke about him marrying Sami. She then gives Sami the photo that shows the marks he left on her neck. Kate worries when she overhears Roman on the phone boasting that something is going to turn Sami's case around.

Lexi talks with Mike about his mixed emotions and asks about his feelings for Carrie. She suggests that he's doing the right thing by keeping Ali at a distance. Mike is surprised when he receives a gift sent by Ali. Nancy and Craig watch as he opens the package with an amused Ali. Lexi sees the package contains many different kinds of coffee, a coffee cup with Ah's picture on it and a sexy nightgown for Ali to wear for him. Carrie wakes from a dream in which Mike tells her that Austin deserves to know that they love each other. After she wakes, she and Austin make love. Sami dreams of shooting Franco. Roman comes to the rescue and chases away a few nosy reporters from Sami.

At the restaurant having dinner a scheming Roman tells Kate that she is a beautiful woman. When a man named Harold greets her, Kate remembers him as one of her "Johns" from the past. At home Roberto calls Kate to warn her that Roman was asking him questions about her. At the Cheatin' Heart Lucas suggests to Nicole that they go out together some time without Eric. Lucas and Taylor watch later as Eric and Nicole share another kiss. Sami hears from Marlena and John that Vivian suffered a nervous breakdown and had to be sent to a hospital under an assumed name for her own protection. Sami begs her mother not to allow Stefano to take her away. A concerned Rolf warns Stefano that Gina may be "back" sooner than he thinks.

Carrie denies to a smug Sami that anything is going on between her and Mike. Not believing her, Sami claims that she's not going to say anything to Austin because he is her friend. Mike turns her down when Ah tries to seduce him in his office. She again pleads with him to come to the Green Mountain Lodge this weekend. Later, Lexi hears from Mike that he does care for Ali but doesn't want to lead her on at the same time. Nancy hints to Ali that Mike must be having second thoughts about her if he didn't give her the head nurse position. Vivian's mood changes and as she enters the ambulance to go to the hospital, she starts singing. Stefano arrives at the townhouse to pick her up and threatens Ivan and Celeste to learn that she was taken to a hospital.
