Certain Dixie is sick again, Tad demands the truth from his wife and his brother. Finally blurting out that she's pregnant, Dixie assures an astounded Tad that she couldn't be happier or healthier. Vanessa and Palmer encounter some unexpected trouble shortly after their jet touches down in Rio. On their way to see Erica, the duo is hijacked by a man with a gun who invokes Adrian's name as he informs the North Americans they'll be spending the next three days in seclusion at a far-off ranch. Encouraged by David's smile of relief after her bandages come off, Erica asks for a mirror and is thrilled to see that she bears no scars from her long and painful ordeal. Adrian promises Opal she'll soon have nothing to fear from her skunk of an ex-husband.

Scott thanks Tad for giving him the chance to work one of the cameras on a "Cutting Edge" episode about teenage fathers. Opal hints to an intrigued Dixie that the new Glamourama may give her just the ammo she needs to cut Palmer out of her life for good. Jake is disappointed to realize that his brother still hasn't been made aware of Dixie's condition. Palmer treats Vanessa to the red carpet treatment as they head down to Brazil in his private jet. Awakening from a nightmare, Erica clings to David as she tearfully confides her fear about what lies beneath her bandages. Participating in the panel discussion with the young dads, Jake listens with mixed emotions when Tad admits how much he would love to have more children of his own.

Startled to discover a crowd of friends and family members waiting to surprise her at SOS, Hayley bursts into tears but claims she's simply touched by all the attention. After convincing a reluctant Stuart to let her handle the gallery's accounting software, Marian quickly gets into trouble and places a frantic call for help to Adrian. Erica awakens to find David sitting patiently by her hospital bed. Explaining that the six-hour operation went smoothly, David tells a worried Erica that her surgeons expect to see good results when the bandages come off tomorrow. Jamie and Junior confide to Jake how they've made a pact to stay together no matter what. Oblivious to Hayley and Mateo's discomfort, Adam coaxes the gloomy young couple out onto the dance floor and urges them to smile for Scott's video camera.

Scott asks Becca to star in his documentary but she balks at making public a humiliating episode from her past. Though Dixie claims that her fainting spell was probably just a result of low blood sugar, Jake gently insists on running some tests to make sure. Adrian and Tad explain to Trevor how they need Erica's block of votes to oust Palmer from Cortlandt Electronics once and for all. Opal gathers her gal pals together for a sneak preview of the new and improved Glamourama. As she checks into the hospital in Rio, Erica is taken aback to discover that the surgery she's about to undergo is still considered experimental and carries no guarantee of success. Adrian's bid for a hostile takeover of CE hits a snag when an embarrassing photo of him appears in the tabloids.

A jubilant Opal celebrates with family and friends at the Valley Inn after obtaining sole custody of Petie. As Becca makes herself useful in Tad and Dixie's kitchen, Scott explains to the newlyweds his idea for a documentary about male/female relationships and why they fall apart. Though Mateo pleads with her to reconsider, Hayley reminds him that in time he would resent her if she forced him to choose between her and his son. Opal taunts Palmer about his stunning defeat in the courtroom and threatens to take him to the cleaners in the board room as well. Mateo urges a tearful Hayley to believe that all the dreams they've shared will come true when the time is right. Later, Hayley says her goodbyes and moves out.

Brooke, Janet and Myrtle are mystified to be summoned to Erica's house on short notice. At SOS, Gillian takes note of Ryan's obvious discomfort but decides not to let it disrupt her evening out with Jake. Hayley tearfully informs a stunned Mateo that she can't live with him any more. Desperate to dissuade her, Mateo swears he has the situation with Max under control at last but Hayley shakily reveals how close she came to taking a drink~ earlier that night. An emotional Erica apologizes to her three friends for pushing them away and being so cruel to them in recent weeks. After Scott outlines his idea for a documentary on the eternal war between men and women, Stuart hits upon the idea of asking his brother to bankroll the entire project.

Pleased to encounter Becca again, Scott explains to the newcomer how they almost have Pigeon Hollow in common. Marian again nags her husband to take control of his own finances. Though Stuart reminds her he has no head for numbers, Marian insists her own accounting skills are good enough to carry both of them once Adam lets loose of the Chandler purse strings. As Ryan suddenly returns to SOS, a startled Hayley hides the glass of vodka she's been clutching. Jake tries to cheer Gillian up after the wedding by reassuring his friend that she's become a better, stronger person since she first blew into town. Palmer plots to have Adrian reinstated with the feds and reassigned to some dangerous locale halfway around the world.

As Adam and Liza's wedding finally begins, Marian commends the happy couple for triumphing over all the tribulations fate placed in their path. David is irked to find Vanessa haunting Erica's home once again. Dixie hushes a cynical Tad's mutterings as Liza and Adam exchange the heartfelt vows they've written themselves. David threatens to turn Vanessa in to the police if she doesn't vacate Erica's house immediately. When his mother wonders why he stopped by in the first place, David icily informs her he's turned over a new leaf and has rejected the legacy of hatred she's instilled in him since early childhood. Opal hits it off with Becca during their first encounter at the Martins' place.

Hayley advises Ryan to either make up with Gillian or get on with his life. At the chapel, Dixie attempts to calm Marian as the agitated mother of the bride wonders what could be holding up the ceremony. Meanwhile, Erica reminds David that carrying out his threat will only serve to prove that Vanessa's worst suspicions about him were right all along. Mateo puts Raquel through her paces as she continues her physical therapy. David tells Liza he's simply been playing mind games with her and Adam because he never had any real ammunition to use against his enemies. Palmer finds himself under attack at Cortlandt Electronics when Adrian and Opal stage a bloodless coup to unseat him as CEO.

Just as David is about to Spill the beans to Liza about who really fathered her baby, Adam bursts in and interrupts him just as he's talking with Liza about last August's adventure at the fertility clinic. Adam then convinces a reluctant Jake to take Liza away so that he can have a chance to talk with David. When David laughs at how worried Adam is, Adam turns the tables and threatens to tell the police about the money he gave Gillian and Ryan if he leaks to Liza about Colby's paternity. Frustrated that Erica is still close to Vanessa, Brooke asks a recently returned Jack for help in getting the woman out of town. Meanwhile, when Palmer stops by to visit with Erica, Vanessa turns on the charm and impresses a gullible Palmer by badmouthing Opal.

Mateo explains to Raquel why Max's field trip with Ryan didn't work out quite the way they had planned. Vanessa pulls a faint when Erica tries to give her the bum's rush. Although a seething Adam orders Jake to leave the chapel, Marian steps in with stern instructions to both men to cool their jets before they ruin what should be the happiest day of her daughter y life. Meanwhile, Liza is startled when David suddenly materializes in her room after emerging from one of the mansion's secret passages. A suspicious Stuart presses his brother to admit that he's been up to no good yet again. Spilling crocodile tears left and right, Vanessa whines to Erica about Brooke and the Dillons conspiring with David to torment her.

Hayley and Mateo return to the isolated stretch of beach where they first met for an afternoon of romantic solitude. Opal and Marian fuss over Liza's hair and make-up as she dresses for her wedding. Across town, Adam presses Erica to reveal how David plans to disrupt his wedding. Meanwhile, Jake corners David and demands to know what the cardiologist is holding over Adam. Dixie offers a grateful Liza her sincere best wishes for a happy marriage with a man they both know to be a difficult life partner at best. Mateo and Hayley brainstorm about the next big shindig at SOS and decide to begin planning for a Fourth of July bash with a Latin flavor. Jake warns a skeptical David that Adam seems to have acquired some new ammunition against him.

As she displays the fashionable results of her shopping spree, Gillian admits to Jake how she accepted a large check from Adam. While tussling with Erica for control of David's letter, Adam accidentally knocks off her mask and is appalled by the extent of her scars. Stepping over Brooke's "dead body", Vanessa calmly accuses Janet and Trevor of staging some cheap theatrics to frighten Donald into submission. At SOS, an agitated Hayley confides to Ryan how her life seems to be spiraling out of control yet again. Grabbing her mask, Erica flees from the house in tears while Liza urges Adam to go make things right. Brooke warns Vanessa that she'll get nowhere peddling her sleazy tell-all within the publishing world.

Jake asks Gillian if she's upset that he kissed her last night, then is taken aback when she wonders aloud why he didn't follow up on the smooch by coming to her boudoir later that evening. Adam decides to exploit his nephew's friendship with Gillian to ferret out the truth about David. Adrian tells an amused Stuart how Opal plans to revive the Glamourama by turning Cortlandt Manor into a day spa. Adam offers Scott a job. As Tad tries to prove to his bride that his strained muscles are well on the mend, Dixie suddenly comes down with a bad case of food poisoning. Marian explains to Adam why she recently returned a large amount of money to Gillian. Scott admits to Marian how in his young and foolish days he used to wish that his "unusual" dad was more like his uncle Adam.
