Raquel tells Mateo that Hayley can't be trusted with their son and shouldn't be allowed to share custody. Adam and Liza visit an upscale baby boutique to shop for their blessed event. At the hospital, a tearful Myrtle gives Dimitri the bad news about Erica. Meanwhile, Erica's eyes slowly flutter open following her emergency surgery. Jake entreats his brother to help him put a halt to Adam and Liza's wedding plans. When Tad questions his sudden urge to save Liza from herself, Jake finally admits he's worried about the child he fathered. Raquel vehemently denies Mateo's suggestion that she had a hand in Max's "disappearance". Liza confides to a beaming Adam how she already considers him her baby's father.

Raquel schemes to ensure that Hayley will walk in on another seemingly cozy moment for her and Mateo. Tad tells Liza she must be out of her mind if she's considering tying the knot with Adam. Joe orders an exhausted Medivac chopper pilot to go back up in the storm and retrieve the victims of the highway crash. Meanwhile, David struggles to repair the crushed aorta and keep Erica alive long enough for them to be rescued. Mateo is startled to find Raquel sleeping next to him on the sofa. Afterwards, out of her husband's earshot, Hayley reads Raquel the riot act and icily advises her to stop playing her pathetic little mind games. Dixie joins the chorus of nay-sayers as she reminds Liza that Adam can't be trusted.

Touched by Ryan's genuine concern for an elderly woman in emotional distress, Gillian reminds her husband they can still have a future together based on love. At Wildwind, the power outage provides Raquel with a cozy excuse to get close to Mateo. Erica rails at David after guessing the real reason he's hurrying back to Pine Valley in a raging snowstorm. An impatient Adam presses Liza for an answer to his proposal. Meanwhile, Stuart and Marian joyously take their first spin around the dance floor as husband and wife. Ryan again informs Gillian there is no chance they can live happily ever after. Trevor explains to Hayley his hunch that Raquel staged Max's disappearing act to make her rival look bad.

Jake tells Ryan his lungs have cleared and regretfully reminds his patient that it means he'll soon be on his way back to jail. At Wildwind, Mateo explains to Max why he must never run off again without telling someone where he's going. As the wedding guests begin to wonder if the bride and groom are ever going to appear, Stuart and Marian pull up to the gallery in a horse-drawn sleigh. Erica informs David she's read the lab results and has ascertained that Adam is the father of Liza's unborn child. Thrilled to see the beautiful setting awaiting her, Marian plants a big kiss on a startled Adam and thanks her personal Cupid for making her dreams come true. Later, decked out in a flowing gown of dazzling red, Marian walks down the aisle to join hands with her beaming bridegroom.

Hayley's tears for Max escalate as the winter storm intensifies, making search efforts close to impossible. Meanwhile, Raquel reminds Max that they're playing a game of hide and seek with his daddy so he mustn't tell anyone how he really found his way home. Ruth returns to Pine valley and is thrilled to hear the news about Tad and Dixie's engagement. Erica and David find themselves stranded together in New York City when the blizzard closes the airport. An amused Stuart discovers that Adam is ten times more nervous about the wedding day than the bridegroom is. Marian is deeply touched when Liza reveals that she'd like to name her daughter after her mother. Erica accuses David of abandoning his own mother when the woman was suffering an apparent heart attack.

Trevor tells Jackson he's tiling a motion to have the DNA results suppressed because his client was coerced into agreeing to the test. Weary of the unsolicited advice, Edmund reminds Dimitri that he is not his brother's keeper. Kit is unnerved by a visit from Braden, who suggests that she listen closely to the deal he~s offering. Frantically calling Max's name, Hayley, Gillian and Mateo begin searching the park for the missing boy. Braden reminds Kit that all the unsavory details of her past will be exposed if she allows the case against Ryan to go to trial. Marian dissolves into tears at the end of her bridal shower. When Brooke lends her a sympathetic ear, Marian confides how worried she is that her sullied reputation will tarnish Stuart's good name.

With Mateo and Max both out of the house, Eayley and Raquel quickly bare their fangs and unsheathe their claws. Gillian persuades a sympathetic policewoman to let her slip into Ryan's hospital room for an unauthorized visit. Kit eavesdrops as Dimitri urges his exasperated brother to simply admit that he wants to get to know their attractive houseguest in the Biblical sense of the word. Hayley informs Raquel that her little plot to destroy the Santos' marriage is doomed to failure. Mateo returns with Max and tells the two women in his life that he's found the perfect condo complex with room enough for all four of them. Edmund finally confesses to Dimitri that he has indeed entertained thoughts about making love to Kit.

David warns an exasperated Liza that Adam is lying to her. Tad delivers his good news to opal, who's thrilled to learn that he and Dixie have reconciled. Dimitri urges Kit to recant her accusations against Ryan but she angrily repeats her assertions that the man raped her. Meanwhile, Ryan is surprised to find Braden standing beside his hospital bed. Dimitri persists in badgering Kit, reminding her that there are other possible explanations for what might have occurred on the night of the alleged attack. Opal admits to Tad that she saw Dixie in the hospital in New York but was sworn to silence. Liza informs David that she's mulling over a marriage proposal from Adam. During a heart to heart chat at the gallery, Adam and a grateful Marian bury the hatchet once and for all.

As Trevor consults with his hospitalized client, Hayley responds to an urgent SOS from Gillian. Adam explains to a startled Erica that the woman David refused to assist was none other than the doctor's own mother. As Erica sifts through the dossier his detective compiled, Adam muses on the best way to pull Hayward's fangs before the fink of a physician does any more harm. Gillian sadly confides to Hayley why Ryan has hardened his heart against her. Dixie and Tad return home and make their happy announcement to overjoyed family members. Liza cautions her beaming mother and Stuart not to place too much trust in Adam's promises about their wedding. Adam tells Erica how David has been sniffing around Liza since the day he arrived in Pine Valley.

David pushes his way into Erica's office and suggests to Enchantment's CEO that she probably shouldn't alienate him because he can be very useful to an ambitious woman like herself. Liza reassures her frantic mother that Adam has changed his tune yet again and will gladly foot the bill for the wedding of her dreams. Meanwhile, Adam apologizes to Stuart and offers to make it up to his twin by immediately throwing the wedding plans into high gear. Mateo explains to an incensed Raquel why he and Hayley have made plans to move out of Wildwind and into a place of their own. When Erica refuses to be intimidated by his thinly veiled threats, David warns her he'll retaliate if she dares to cross him again.

Mateo promises his wife that Raquel will never pose a threat to their marriage or their happiness, but Hayley still frets that her history of alcoholism has endangered their chances for gaining permanent custody of Max. Erica returns Vanessa's purse to her at the hospital, then quizzes the woman about her memory of the night before. Dixie and Tad spend a blissful night together. In the morning, they discuss the future and happily imagine how thrilled Junior and Jamie will be to learn of their engagement. Raquel asks her attorney to find a way to postpone the custody hearing for another month so she'll have enough time to reclaim Mateo as full- time husband and father. Erica describes for Vanessa how shocked she was when David refused to lend a hand during the older woman's medical emergency.

Dixie reminds Tad that although she loves him dearly she can't commit to any kind of future with him because she may not have a future at all. As his memory returns, Ryan orders Gillian to leave his hospital room. Adam continues to press his case with Liza, hoping to wear down her resistance enough to finally win her hand in marriage. Hayley raises an eyebrow when Max loudly insists on sleeping with both of his parents the way he did the other night. Later, a red-faced Mateo explains to Hayley how Raquel crawled into his bed after he and Max had fallen asleep. Liza admits to a jubilant Adam that she does love him. Gillian flies at David in a rage when he approaches Ryan's bed. Hayley berates Raquel for using her innocent young son to try and make trouble for her and Mateo.

Adam entreats Liza to let him make a fresh start with him and her child. When Liza reminds him that the child would not be his flesh and blood, Adam keeps his secret to himself and assures the woman he loves that he already cares for the baby as much as if it really were his own. Hayley warns Raquel that no matter what happens at the custody hearing she and Mateo will be moving out of Wildwind and taking Max with them. Later, Raquel encourages Max to go ask his daddy a question guaranteed to cause a rift between him and Hayley. Dixie explains to Tad why she felt she had to keep him in the dark about her illness. Vowing to move heaven and earth to make her well, Tad urges Dixie to look to a future full of nothing but promise for both of them.

Gillian prays for Ryan's recovery as she sits by her husband's bedside. Dixie informs an agitated Adam she's going to take Junior and leave Pine Valley for good once she finds the videotape. As Tad introduces his brothers to one another, Jake cheerfully offers Adrian both his congratulations and his condolences. Liza finally watches the tape and is stunned to realize that Dixie believes she is dying. Jake mediates a quarrel between Tad and Adrian as they attempt to establish some ground rules for dealing with opal. Braden begins to take a curious interest in Ryan's situation. Junior protests when he learns that his mother intends to move them back to Pigeon Hollow. David has a strong reaction to the sight of Vanessa Bennett's face in the crowd at the Teens Against Addiction benefit.

Jake explains to a fretful Gillian that Ryan remains in serious condition and has yet to respond to the antibiotics. At the benefit for Teens Against Addiction, Erica delivers the keynote address and announces that Enchantment will donate 20% of the profits from its teen line to aid the cause. A smirking David promises Adam that he will never again marry Liza Colby. Dixie races over to Tad's place in a frantic effort to get her hands on the videotape before her ex watches it. Meanwhile, at WRCW, Liza stumbles over a tape with no identifying labels. David is caught off guard when Adam calmly counters his threat with an ominous warning from left field. Gillian disguises herself as a nurse and sneaks into Ryan's room, where she and her feverish husband exchange declarations of love.

Though Tad insists he doesn't want to know Dixie's secret, Liza finally prevails and warns her friend that the woman he loves is seriously ill. Meanwhile, Dixie tries to explain to Junior why she said what she did on the videotape. Assuring her son she's doing everything possible to get well, Dixie promises the boy she has no intention of dying until she's a very, very old woman. Braden finds Ryan lying unconscious on the floor of his jail cell and rushes to alert Jackson, who reluctantly calls for the paramedics. At Wildwind, Kit and Edmund celebrate the news that Ryan is being held without bail. Dixie asks David to reassure her anxious son. Liza offers a skeptical Tad proof that her story has validity.

Pointing the gun at David, a seething Gillian informs the doctor that he's going to pay dearly for destroying the man she loves. At the station house, Trevor warns Ryan that a 70% match on the DNA test is enough to make him look guilty in the eyes of a jury. Mateo agrees to leave Wildwind with Hayley but suggests that they postpone their departure until after the court hearing. Tad phones Dixie to let her know that Junior has turned up safe and sound. Meanwhile, Liza tries to sweet talk Braden into revealing Dixie's medical problem. Laughing in Gillian~s face, David reminds her how much he enjoyed using her during their sessions in his bed. Frantic to keep Junior from confiding in Tad, Dixie hurries over with Adam to collect their runaway son.
