Liza again pressures David to tell her what is really ailing Dixie. Meanwhile, Adam and Dixie conduct a frantic search for their missing son. Gillian finds herself locked in a jail cell right across the hall from her husband's. Desperate for Ryan's forgiveness, Gillian explains how she was at the very end of her rope when she struck an unholy bargain with the devilish Dr. Hayward. Hayley finally returns home and is irked to walk in on a cozy domestic scene involving Mateo, Raquel, and their young son. Dixie angrily blames Adam for causing Junior to run away from home. Suddenly overcome, Dixie sinks to the floor just as David arrives and rushes to treat his patient. Edmund bristles when Hayley vents her rage on Kit.

David gleefully reports to Jackson how he spotted Gillian entering an ice fishing shack on the frozen lake. Meanwhile, Edmund orders Ryan to give up and turn himself in to the police. As Gillian shrieks in dismay, Ryan and Edmund begin trading punches until Jackson arrives with reinforcements and places the fugitives under arrest. Trevor wonders aloud why David has been poking his nose into the case against Ryan. Hayley explains to her exasperated husband that although she loves him more than anyone else in the world she must follow through on her commitment to a friend in need. Opal tearfully asks Adrian for his forgiveness. Assuring his mother he could never hate her now that he knows what kind of a monster Ray Gardner was, Adrian reminds Opal how his whole world has been shaken to the core and warns that it will take some time for him to sort things out.

A gloomy Adrian tells Belinda he's lost his job thanks to the publicity surrounding the revelation about his true parentage. Meanwhile, Opal reads Palmer the riot act for ruining the Dawson's lives out of pure spite. Dixie tries to put up a smokescreen when Liza asks about her failing health. In the ice fishing shack, Gillian entreats Ryan to forgive her by explaining that everything she has done has been to prove her love to him and confesses that she slept with David to get the bail money for him. Outraged, Ryan can't believe it and fumes as she pleads with him to understand why she did what she did. After Mateo gives him a tip about Ryan, Jack orders Hayley to be released from jail.

Hayley grows frantic with worry after hearing that Mateo has been rushed to the hospital. In the fishing shack, Gillian nervously explains to Ryan that the money they need for their escape is on the way. Desperate to save Dixie, Adam begins pulling strings to find his ex-wife the best doctors money can buy. Later, Dixie is outraged when Adam admits that he already spoke to their son about her health problems. Jackson reminds a tearful Hayley that she'll be free to go check on her husband the minute she reveals where Ryan is hiding. David arrives at the fishing shack and informs a stunned Ryan that Gillian traded sex for his bail money. Mateo is annoyed to hear how his wife chose loyalty to Ryan over a chance to see him at the hospital.

After viewing the videotape, Adam is alarmed to realize why Dixie has been lying to him. Meanwhile, Braden encourages a gloomy Dixie to believe that she will make a full recovery. As Jackson returns to Pine Valley, Kit asks her brother if he rigged the DNA test to bolster his case against Ryan. Gillian appeals to David to loan her one hundred thousand dollars so she and her fugitive husband can take it on the lam. Jackson swears to Kit that the conviction he's going to obtain will be based solely on real forensic evidence. Ryan is forced to take refuge in the icy waters of the pond to avoid members of a search party as they check the fishing shacks for the escaped prisoner. David tricks Gillian into revealing where Ryan is hiding.

On the run once again, Gillian and Ryan make their way out to an empty ice fishing shack on Willow Lake. A suspicious Adam grills Dixie after finding her and Braden making a videotape. Feeling guilty about striking Mateo and leaving him lying unconscious on the floor, Gillian calls Raquel and urges her to hurry over to Lyndon House. Eayley tries to persuade a reluctant Dimitri to help Ryan flee the country. Raquel manages to bring Mateo around, then insists on taking him to the emergency room. Adam presses Dixie to clue him in about what's really going on with her. As Jake orders some tests for Mateo, Raquel calls the jail and leaves a message guaranteed to drive Eayley over the edge. When Ryan again begins talking about surrendering to the authorities, a desperate Gillian decides to play her last card.

Dixie reminds Adam that he needs to spend more quality time with Junior. Kit comes to Hayley's jail cell to try and make her see the error of her ways. Meanwhile, at Lyndon House, Mateo advises Ryan and Gillian to turn themselves in. Hayley bitterly reminds Kit that her story has far too many holes in it to convince anyone of Ryan's guilt. Stuart coaxes a nervous Marian out onto the frozen lake for a little ice fishing. Determined to make up for the way she once split Tad and Dixie apart, Liza enlists Jake in her scheme to reunite sundered hearts. Tad intervenes, however, and orders Liza to butt out. Stuart explains to Marian why it's their differences rather than their similarities that make them the perfect pair.

As Adam continues to pester Liza to agree to a double wedding, David uncovers proof of the paternity of Ms. Colby's unborn child. At Wildwind, Raquel is pleased to watch the bond between Mateo and Max grow stronger. Worried that his friend will pay too high a price for her loyalty, Ryan considers turning himself in so the police will release Hayley. Tad finds Adrian sulking alone in the boathouse. Describing for his half-brother how Ray Gardner made Opal's existence a living hell, Tad angrily reminds Adrian that their mother's tough decision years ago undoubtedly saved his life. Meanwhile, Palmer gloats as an alarmed opal and Frank learn that their relationship has been splashed all over the front page of a tabloid paper.

Due to live coverage of the senate impeachment trial, "All My Children" did not air on Tuesday, January 19.

Adam suggests to Liza that they turn Stuart and Marian's nuptials into a double wedding. Ryan waits impatiently for Gillian to return to Lyndon House. Meanwhile, Gillian panics when she encounters Adrian unexpectedly. Braden begins playing both sides against the middle with Palmer and David. At Cortland Manor, Opal finds herself awash in mixed emotions as she tearfully clings to Frank. Afterwards, Tad is reunited with his "Uncle Frank", who tells Opal's son he always hoped Adrian would grow up as brave and strong as his big brother. Liza laughingly advises Adam not to hold his breath about walking down the aisle with her any time soon. Tad promises Frank and opal he'll help them track Adrian down.

Irked to see Tad and Dixie with their heads together, Palmer reminds Braden that his assignment was to make sure the former lovebirds never reconnected. Caught up in the illusion of playing house at Lyndon, Gillian attempts to be thoroughly domestic by serving her husband breakfast in bed. Trevor tells Hayley she'll probably be set free immediately following her arraignment. Unaware that Raquel has crawled into his bed, Mateo snuggles up to the woman lying next to him but leaps up in alarm when he realizes he isn't t embracing Hayley. Marian flies into a tizzy as her wedding plans go disastrously astray. worried about her missing son, opal begs Tad to go find Adrian before something terrible befalls him.

Due to the Senate impeachment hearing, "All My Children" did not air on Thursday January 14, 1999.

Shaken by recent revelations about his mother's past, Tad gloomily confides to Dixie that he can't understand how Opal could have lied to him for so many years. Meanwhile, Adrian clings to Belinda as he attempts to cope with the stunning news about his true parentage. As they cool their heels in a jail cell, Hayley complains to Eugenia about her headstrong husband's refusal to even consider the possibility that Ryan has been falsely accused. Ryan and Gillian hurry into hiding when Erica and Dimitri unexpectedly return to Lyndon House late at night for a stroll down memory lane. Recalling how his parents emphasized Bible lessons as they raised him, Adrian muses bitterly about all the secrets and lies which shaped his life without him even knowing it.

Gillian brings Ryan to an abandoned Lyndon House to hide out. Across town, Kit finally accedes to Edmund's request and agrees to move into wudwind for safekeeping. As Mateo visits her in jail, Eayley is irked to discover that her husband believes she fell off the wagon. while Palmer gloats in triumph, a stunned Adrian and Tad attempt to process the fact that they are brothers. Afterwards, Opal tearfully asks her grown sons if they can find it in their hearts to forgive her. Revealing that FranNc was the great love of her life, Opal explains how Adrian's father rescued her and a very young Tad from the hellish existence they endured at the hands of Ray Gardner. Hayley tells a dismayed Mateo why she helped Ryan escape from custody.

Edmund urges Kit to pack up her things and move into the main house for safekeeping until Ryan is recaptured. Raquel tells a worried Mateo how his wife accidentally ingested a sip of alcohol, then suggests that the drink drove her to participate in Gillian's crazy scheme. Meanwhile, Hayley enjoys leading the cops on a high speed wild goose chase. startled to realize that Adrian heard her pronouncement to Palmer, Opal hastily backtracks by claiming she meant that she loves the young man like a mother. still stuck together in the bathroom, Tad continues to press Dixie for the truth. Kit explains to a disappointed Edmund why she wants to move back to the Valley Inn. After finally breaking out of the bathroom, Tad hurries to check on his mother and is astounded to find Palmer confronting opal with photographic evidence of her relationship with Adrian's father.

Tad and Dixie find themselves sharing a bathroom at Cortland Manor. A blushing Belinda admits to Adrian how exciting she's found the last three weeks. Trevor cautions Ryan that his chances of making bail are slim to none now that he officially stands accused of raping the district attorney's sister. Meanwhile, Hayley and Gillian concoct a scheme to help Ryan flee before Derek locks him behind bars. Adrian stops by Opal's room to say goodbye before he leaves town. A panicked Kit clings to Edmund upon learning that Ryan has escaped from his police guard. Tad offers to give Dixie first shot at the shower but is rattled to discover that they are locked into the bathroom together.

Palmer accuses a stunned opal of betraying him with Adrian. Laughing in her face, Palmer reminds opal how a judge won't look kindly upon her act of adultery when it comes to deciding custody of Petie. Opal begs her husband to call off his vendetta, then blurts out that Adrian is not her lover but is actually her son. while Mateo waits anxiously to hear from Hayley, Raquel suggests to Mateo that Hayley's accidental sip of a rum and coke at the party may have triggered her irrational behavior. Meanwhile, Gillian and Hayley put their plan into action. Gillian and Ryan hide in the Marrick mausoleum behind the plaque in honor of Maria. when the police come looking for the escaped Ryan, Hayley puts her part of the plan into action by driving her speeding car off the premises and successfully leading the police with her.

As Gillian sputters in protest, Derek informs an astonished Ryan that his DNA sample matched the semen found on Kit's clothing. Insisting that the lab made a mistake, Ryan continues to declare his innocence but Derek proceeds to read him his rights. Despite the new evidence, Hayley tells Mateo she's certain Ryan could never have forced himself on any woman. Tad grimly informs Kit she won't get away with another false accusation of rape. As their quarrel escalates, Hayley bitterly wonders aloud if her husband ever actually intends to divorce Raquel. Erica and Tad find themselves very much in the minority as the tide of public opinion rises rapidly against Ryan. Braden cautions Dixie that she's constantly emitting mixed messages when it comes to her ex- husband.

Though Trevor cautions him to get out of Wildwind while the getting is good, Ryan assures his attorney that his luck has changed and insists on staying put to ring in the new year with his wife. Tad berates Dixie for deliberately interfering in his love life with a series of childish pranks. Liza gives a delighted Adam a glimmer of hope that there might be a future for the two of them. As Hayley draws the winning raffle number for the trip to Aruba, Gillian is excited to realize that she's holding the lucky ticket. Dixie nervously stonewalls when Tad pressures her to reveal what's really going on between them. While offering a toast to Liza, David smashes his glass into Adam's and cuts his rival's hand in order to slyly obtain a sample of his blood.
