With Stuart on her arm, a beaming Marian thanks Adam for hosting the best Thanksgiving celebration she's ever had. At the Dillon house, Trevor and Janet congratulate Mateo, Hayley and Raquel for putting aside their differences long enough to give Max a happy holiday with both of his parents. A depressed Gillian reluctantly joins her cousins for Wildwind's Turkey Day feast. Ryan apologizes to Kit for his churlish behavior the other night but is puzzled by her odd reaction to his presence at the Marricks dinner table. Out of her mother's earshot, Liza accuses Adam of sucking up to Marian just to score points with her. Raquel becomes suspicious when Mateo offers her his financial and emotional support.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, "All My children" on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 will not air. Jamie happily informs Junior that they're going to be brothers again once Tad and Dixie get remarried. Stunned by Opal's revelation, Dixie realizes Tad lied to her to save face and cover his humiliation at being stood up. Raquel introduces Max to his father as Hayley watches the tender scene through eyes brimming with tears. when the boy asks if his daddy is going to live with them now, Mateo gently explains that he lives with Hayley but promises a disappointed Max they'll have sleepovers at Wildwind. Adrian refuses to release a protesting Palmer before opal returns from the hospital.

Weary of all the doctors and tests, Dixie tells Braden the best medicine she could have is a hug from her son. A bristling Jackson asks Tad what his problem is with Christine. Ryan announces that he's moving out of Wildwind. At the Pine Cone motel, Mateo urges Raquel not to take his son away from him before he's had a chance to get to know Max. Tad warns Jack that his euphoria over being reunited with his sister will soon turn to regret once Kit's true nature emerges. David explains to Dixie how the kidney failure has resulted in cardiac complications which may have caused permanent damage. Adrian reports his findings to opal. Raquel tells Mateo and Hayley how Max nearly died from a congenital heart defect when he was very young.

Opal and Adrian corner Palmer in his New York hotel room. Adam hurries to sell off the fertility clinic before Liza gets wind of his personal and financial connection to the place where she was impregnated. Janet and Amanda encounter Raquel and Max while shopping at the mall. Mateo hesitantly explains to Hayley why he can't annul his marriage to Raquel. Promising to dissolve the union another way as soon as possible, Mateo expresses a hope that Hayley will welcome his son into the life they're going to share. Meanwhile, Raquel happily jumps to the wrong conclusion when Trevor announces his client's decision. Braden sends for David after Dixie suffers another setback. Hayley tearfully vows to try her best to be a good stepmother to Max.

While Braden keeps Palmer busy, Dixie finally manages to reach Tad but is stunned when he claims he never went to the top of the Statler building on the night of their scheduled rendezvous. Travis bitterly accuses Erica of messing up his brother's life yet again. Trevor tries to reassure a worried Mateo that Hayley will come to terms with the fact that he has a child by another woman. Meanwhile, on the beach, Ryan lends Hayley a sympathetic ear as she weeps over the devastating turn of events. At the fertility clinic, David digs for more dirt on a possible connection between Adam and the child Liza is carrying. Taken in by Tad's lie, a weeping Dixie tells Braden she's lost the man she loves.

An overwhelmed Travis thanks Edmund for reuniting him with the sister he believed was gone forever. Later, Dimitri offers to help his brother track down the man who was dancing with Kit on the night she was attacked. Adam tells Tad he's heard that Dixie is in Paris visiting Lanie. Meanwhile, in New York, Dixie makes another futile attempt to reach Tad by phone. Edmund and Dimitri discover that Erica is conducting her own private investigation into the alleged rape. At the hospital, Jackson and Travis enjoy a long overdue stroll down memory lane with Kit. Dixie again tries to persuade Braden to disobey Palmer and help her get through to Tad. David goes snooping at the fertility clinic for clues about the paternity of Liza's unborn child and discovers that Adam is the new owner of the clinic.

Mateo runs to Trevor and Janet and reveals that he's discovered he has a son with Raquel and decides that he must stay married to his first wife for the sake of the boy. Alerted by Mateo that she's missing, Ryan is caught off guard to find Hayley in the surf at the beach where she first met Mateo. He pulls her out of the water and doubts it when she claims she was just going for a swim. Stuart starts to paint Marian's portrait but finds that he can't concentrate on the painting because of his feelings for her. Instead, he becomes romantic with his amused model. Erica tries to convince Jack again that Kit is lying and points out that there was not a scratch on her after the attack. She pleads with him to step back and see things as a prosecutor does but he storms off, fed up with her words.

Adam confronts Mateo about his first wife and lectures him about the consequences of hurting his daughter. Mateo ignores Adam's threats and reminds his father-in-law about all of the failed marriages that Adam has survived. Hayley confronts Raquel and accuses her of lying about having Mateo's son. Raquel slaps her when Hayley calls her son a bastard and boasts that Mateo is her husband and the father of her son. Mateo arrives just in time to hear Hayley call Raquel a slut. Later, Hayley is stunned when she meets the boy and sees how much Max looks like his father. Hayley asks Mateo for some time by herself to consider their future. Fearing that he has been a terrible role model for his daughter, Adam runs to Liza to whine.

Adam overhears Gillian pleading with Ryan not to allow an outside person to ruin their marriage like Mateo's first wife has done. Though Ryan urges her to keep her mouth shut, Gillian tells Adam about Raquel. Adam quickly runs to the Pine Cone Motel and offers to make it financially worth her while for Raquel to leave town and Mateo and his daughter alone. Raquel refuses and shows Adam the door. Brought to tears by the news that Raquel has Mateo's son Max, Hayley finally speaks with a quivering voice and guesses that Raquel must have heard she coundn't have children and quickly came up with this plot. Calling her rival a deceitful bitch, Hayley angrily orders Mateo to run back to Raquel and tell her off but he assures Hayley that Max is his son.

In New York, Palmer explains to his groggy niece that she's just come through emergency surgery. Following the taping, Tad and Erica compare notes on the ups and downs of being single in a world full of people pairing up. Ryan confronts David and accuses the doctor of taking advantage of Gillian's vulnerablity. Mateo returns to Wildwind and hesitantly informs a stunned Hayley that he has a son. Meanwhile, at the Pine Cone motel, Gillian encounters Max and quickly guesses the reason Raquel feels so confident about winning Mateo back. David gleefully informs a stricken Ryan that his wife was the one who initiated the affair, dating way back from the night of Brooke's victory party.

In New York, Dixie regains consciousness and realizes she's missed her all-important rendezvous with Tad. At WRCW, Liza tells Tad she's lined up Star Jones as his co-host for a special show on "Love The Second Time Around." In desperation, Gillian turns to Hayley for help convincing Ryan not to leave Wildwind. Raquel introduces Max to Mateo, who recognizes the boy as the little baseball player who came to his door on Halloween night. Dixie takes a sudden turn for the worse. Back at Cortlandt Manor, Adrian shows Opal the progress he's made tracking her errant husband. Mateo admits to Raquel he saw himself and the rest of the Santos clan the minute he gazed into Max's eyes. During a taping with Star, Tad expresses disgust with the concept of undying love and Erica announces that she's swearing off men from now on.

Jackson receives the results of his DNA test and is stunned to discover that he and Kit are a genetic match. Tad quizzes the bartender, whose crude remarks about Kit's slutty behavior infuriate Edmund. Raquel trails Mateo into the Merrick crypt and informs him that they have a son named Max. Up at the main house, Ryan comforts Hayley after she awakens crying from a dream about losing Mateo. The bartender tells Tad about the young, muscular man who was joined at the hip with Kit during the Halloween party. Sitting by Kit's bed, Jackson sadly apologizes to his sister for not believing her in time, then vows never to let anyone hurt her again. When Mateo expresses skepticism about her tale, Raquel takes him back to the motel to introduce him to his son.

Though Liza expresses sympathy for Kit's plight, Tad confides that he has serious doubts the rape story contains even a kernel of truth. Stuart happily announces to Adam and Liza that he and Marian have become engaged. Angered by the way an insensitive female detective has handled Kit's questioning, Jackson orders the woman off the case. Hayley icily reminds Raquel she has no claim on Mateo, who again rejects his first wife's urgent request for a private tete-a-tete. As Adam offers his brother his congratulations, Marian asks a beaming Liza to be her maid of honor. Tad warns a bristling Edmund and Jackson that they're being suckered by one of the best con artists working today. Ryan cautions Raquel that she'll get nowhere trying to break up the happiest couple he's ever seen.

Edmund keeps a vigil by Kit's bedside all night long. Meanwhile, Derek reports to Jackson that forensic evidence indicates the rapist used a condom. Surprised to see Tad flirting with Wendy the weather girl, Liza asks her old friend what happened to the expected reconciliation with his ex. In New York, Dixie's doctor tells Palmer that complications from the renal failure have caused an inflammation around the heart which could lead to cardiac arrest. Ryan again rejects Gillian's advances when she tries to crawl into bed with him. Jackson suggests to Edmund that Kit's attacker may have been someone she knew. Jake regretfully explains to a devastated Hayley that the toxicity level in her liver means she may never be able to have a child.

Edmund asks Brooke to come down to the hospital and help Kit through her ordeal. Meanwhile, Derek gently attempts to question Kit about her attacker but she remains completely unresponsive. Mateo springs a romantic surprise on Hayley. At the Pine Cone motel, Raquel listens to her sons bedtime prayer as Max asks God to help him find his daddy. Braden tells Palmer he found Dixie lying unconscious on the floor of his apartment and is taking her to west Side Hospital. Hayley shyly confides to Mateo her hope that by the time his annulment comes through she'll already be carrying his child. Adrian promises opal he'll check into her husbands strange late night trip to Cortland Electronics.

Opal tells Tad she's received a strong psychic message indicating that Dixie is in serious trouble. In New York, Braden is startled to find Dixie stretched out cold on the floor of his apartment. Jackson firmly informs a sputtering Erica that they are through. Ryan boasts to Gillian that he paid her back for her infidelity by getting it on with a hot blonde. Meanwhile, at the hospital, a traumatized Kit slowly nods her head when Edmund asks if she was raped. Tad scoffs at his mother's insistence that Dixie has sent her an urgent SOS through the airwaves. Kneeling at her husband's feet, Gillian begs Ryan to give her another chance to prove her love. Edmund calls Jackson down to the ER, where Kit's mumbled apology triggers a childhood memory which jars the district attorney.

As he pushes Marian on "their" swing in the garden, Stuart tries to work up enough courage to pop the question. Jackson and Erica bump into one another in a vacant house when they both show up for an appointment with a realtor. When Ryan finally returns to Wildwind, a hopeful Gillian reveals that she knows what he said to Eugenia. Edmund finds Kit sitting on the ground in an apparent state of shock. Though Gillian insists she wants their marriage to work, Ryan bitterly rejects her declaration of love. At the ER, Jake treats his brother's injured hand after Tad smashes his fingers doing some home repairs. Stuart finally asks Marian to marry him Jackson accuses Erica of bribing the realtor to set him up for a "chance encounter.

Hayley and Mateo find a cute trick-or-treater standing alone at Wildwind's front door and ask the little baseball player where his mommy is. Dimitri suggests to his brother that he's gone a bit overboard in his efforts to assist Kit. Meanwhile, an intoxicated Kit invites Ryan to come back to her room at the Valley Inn and share her bed. As Raquel watches from the bushes, Max charms Mateo into giving him an impromptu lesson in batting technique. Following an eye-opening chat with her grandmother, Gillian goes on a frantic hunt for Ryan Dimitri advises Edmund to admit that his feelings for Kit go way beyond professional interest. Stuart dresses as Robin Hood to escort his Maid Marian to a Halloween party.

As the Halloween party at Wildwind gets underway, Hayley tells Mateo she's ready for them to start a family. Meanwhile, Raquel contemplates the right time to let Mateo know that he has a young son. Adam gives Allie her ticket to Antigua and advises her to keep her mouth shut about the switch they made at the sperm bank. Stunned to find his wife making love to David, Ryan bitterly informs Gillian he's divorcing her. Liza becomes suspicious of Adam's sudden generosity towards Allie. A drunken Kit rewards Edmund's kindness by coldly questioning his motives. David tells a tearful Gillian she can probably win Ryan back if she's foolish enough to desire a loser like Lavery. Angela urges Raquel to take Max to Wildwind for trick-or-treating and introduce him to his father.
