Tom is outraged to find Emily's doctor about to inject her with another tranquilizer. Tom helps a drowsy Emily get things clearer in her head and explains that he's tracking down Nurse Fletcher in Chicago. Jack and Carly awaken, still locked in the wine cellar and begin kissing each other passionately. However, before they can make love for the first time, Hal and Barbara unlock the door and interrupt. Alec arranges with his "associate" to reach out to Deena's best friend from high school before the upcoming reunion. Before they can set a time and place to make love, Georgia gets a call and runs off to her new job at WOAK. At the studio Georgia confides to Margo that she's concerned about taking "the next step" with Eddie for fear of ruining their relationship.

Brad advises Rosanna that Carly is off doing what she does best which Rosanna guesses means chasing Jack. As he talks about his wife, Rosanna realizes that Brad might have actually fallen in love with her sister. She admits that she's sorry she set up the trust fund contest because she wanted to get even with Carly. She does reveal that if Hal was the father, Carly would lose all her money. Meanwhile, Jack argues with Carly as they remain locked in the Mona Lisa's wine cellar. Using a tape recording of a baby crying and a doll wrapped in a blanket, a laughing Gary successfully tricks Lily into giving him the money in exchange for her baby and then locks her into a building scheduled to be demolished. Thanks to information Denise dug up on Gary, Holden calls Hal for help and then rescues an upset Lily while Gary makes his getaway.

Andy explains to Molly that he always gets the feeling that when she's kissing him, he thinks that she is kissing someone else. He forces her to admit that she was lying about her meeting with "Reid." She then spins a tale about how deranged she thinks he is. upset, Andy confronts the shrink about the way he's treating Molly. As they argue, Molly arrives and prevents them from exchanging blows. Gary surprises Lily in her car and announces that he won' t take her to her daughter until he sees the money. she falls for the ruse and shows him the briefcase containing the cash. Pleased, he then forces her to drive them to an abandoned warehouse. Meanwhile, Holden worries when Lily fails to show.

Overhearing her ask for a video copy of Lily's appeal, "Reid" begins to panic when he can't dissuade Julia from trying to help Lily and Holden find their missing baby. Rita spies on Lily as she arrives at the hotel to see Julia. Thanks to the missing baby, Rita finally realizes that "Reid" is really David. She vows to tell Julia the truth but David tries to stop her only to be waylaid by an upset Molly. Molly is stunned when David drops an engagement ring from his pocket. Julia begins to wonder if Melinda could be Lily's baby but discovers that both "Reid" and Melinda are now gone. When a recently released Gary calls and threatens her, Denise claims that she is not afraid of him. Gary warns her that if she gets him in trouble for selling her baby, he'll take her down with him.

After Lily advises Denise about their intentions, Lily and Holden go live on WOAK with the story about their missing baby. Liam tries to warn Julia that "Reid's" strange psychiatric practices are not normal. "Reid" interrupts and tries to convince Julia to leave town with him and Melinda. Julia refuses because of her ties to Oakdale so "Reid" arranges for her to think that Rita is stalking her by making an anonymous phone call to her hotel suite. Seeing the Snyder's on TV, Julia is amazed at how close a resemblance Melinda is to their missing baby. Brad can't believe that Carly wants to divorce him so that she can be with Jack. Carly assures him that she can make it work and offers him any amount of money to call it quits.

While "Reid" talks with Julia, a fireplace-poker armed Rita sneaks back into the house in Groverton. "Reid" gains the upperhand and tells Julia to call the police. He then explains to Rita he'll catch up with her later and allows her to escape. However, when he returns to meet with her, "Reid" is shocked to find her gone. Carly is disappointed when Jack thanks her with a kiss on her forehead. Dolores interrupts and warns Carly about what could happen if Brad found her at Jack's place. Jack is astounded to hear that his mother has moved in with Carly. Brad leaks to Camille that he does have feelings for Carly. He later approaches his wife at home and when things become steamy after she beats him at pinball, Carly suddenly demands a divorce.

"Reid" pulls back from Molly before they can make love When Eddie announces that he's taking night off to attend his mother's high school reunion to find out about his low-life father, Alec orders him to remain at work or he'll be fired. Georgia tries to convince Alec but Eddie stops her and assures him that he will be the fist one there for his business party.

Dr. Galloway calls "Reid" with the news that Rita has escaped from the psychiatric hospital. Molly confronts "Reid" about the kiss she saw Rita sharing with him. He tries to evade her questions but she follows him back to his place where she suggests that he's broken some professional laws by getting too close to his patients. "Reid" tries another tactic and compliments her. Molly is brought to tears as she is reminded again of David. They almost make love. Galloway assures Tom and Emily that they will find Rita and Nurse Fletcher. Meanwhile, Fletcher plants "evidence" that Emily is sending herself threats again. At the police station Jack refuses to tell Julia why he attacked "Reid". After a confrontation with Carly at the station, Julia runs to "Reid's" house in Groverton where she is startled by Rita's sudden appearance.

Stopping Jack from talking with Rita, "Reid" boasts to Jack about his time with Julia in Mann County and adds that Julia loves him. "Reid" then makes a few more snide remarks which causes Jack to assault him. "Reid" quickly presses charges against him and when Hal arrives, he demands that he arrest Jack. Meanwhile, Emily becomes emotional and screams at Dr. Amador to find the nurse she saw earlier. Amador guesses she needs to be quieted down and calls for some assistance. Alec presses Margo to leave her job as a detective to handle his publicity. Adam is insulting when Margo invites Alec in. Tom arrives just in time to hear Casey asking Alec if he is his mother's new boyfriend.

Running into her at the hospital, Jack sadly tells Carly that Julia has decided to stay in Mann County and no longer wants anything to do with him. Carly doubts that he's moved on and leaks that Julia is back in town. However, Jack is too busy investigating Rita which infuriates David. Admitting she's got a slight problem with the IRS, Dolores approaches Carly for some financial help. Carly agrees but asks her to convince Brad to let her go. Tom and Lisa pay Emily a visit at Spring Lake with the baby. As they talk, Emily spots the nurse David hired to watch Rita again and finally remembers that she worked for David. Tom urges Emily to end her deception there because of the danger she faces.

David interrupts Julia and Holden's conversation about his missing baby and is shocked to hear that Julia brought Melinda with her back to Oakdale. He claims that she came back to Oakdale because she was supposed to marry Jack today. He takes her to the church for "closure" and encourages her to end things forever with JAck. Jack arrives at the church and confides to Ben the pain he's feeling. As they talk, Jack fails to see Julia there. After Bob gives Georgia the good news that she is perfectly healthy now, Eddie surprises her with flowers to celebrate. He then asks Georgia out on their first "official" date. Meanwhile, Katie goes back to Chris' room and kisses him passionately.

When Emily points out to Rita that she's been throwing away her medication to make her lucid again, Rita quickly calls "Reid" and demands that he get her released or else she will tell all she knows. "Reid" asks Julia to take care of Melinda while he flies out of town on business. Holden's P.I.questions Julia about the kidnaping. After Holden confirms that their baby was switched by David, Julia panics, grabs Melinda and heads back to Oakdale where she offers to help Holden find his missing child. When Katie accuses Georgia of stealing her man, an outraged Georgia counters her claim with the knowledge that she set her up to think she was sleeping with Eddie. Eddie takes Katie aside and tries to convince her that he never stopped loving Georgia.

When Eddie confronts him and demands some answers, Alec confesses that he was born in Milltown, one of five kids who grew up in a broken-down apartment. He regrets that he left his family as soon as he was old enough to "escape" from his home and never got the chance to apologize to his parents because they died. Eddie returns to the Oasis and finds a note from Georgia wishing him well at his surprise birthday party while she flies to London. Remembering what Alec told him, Eddie blows off Katie's party and runs to find Georgia. He surprises her with a kiss. When Denise admits that she talked with Lily about the events leading up to her giving her baby away, Ben asks her if she intends to take Hope back. Denise claims that she never considered it until now.

Denise approaches Jessica about her rights as the birth mother of Lily and Holden's new baby Hope. Jessica's encouraging and suggests that they could go trial and hope to get a sympathetic judge. Jessica advises her to let the baby's real father know about the situation. However, when Denise tries to talk with Andy, she finds she can't do it. Lily argues with Holden who wants to delay taking any legal action to protect Hope since he thinks that Denise is harmless. Lily is disturbed later to learn that Denise has already hired Jessica. Molly surprises Andy with a big kiss and a thank you for wanting to surprise her out in California. However, as she kisses him, she imagines kissing "Reid." Tom warns Lisa that he fears Alec's agenda since he bought into the newspaper.
