Wearing a new designer gown, Carly forces Brad to don a custom-made suit and join her for dinner. Tired of her attempt to impress the rich and famous of Oakdale, Brad starts to walk out of the restaurant only to be stopped by an apologetic Carly who convinces him to stay, much to the dismay of Barbara and Lisa. Brad surprises Carly by showing her how much fun they can have without spending any of her millions by taking her to the rooftop. Molly's upset to discover that Carly has gone out for the night, leaving little Parker with a nanny. Andy finds her there and admits he's surprised that she doesn't want to move in with Carly. Molly assures him that she would rather live with him.

John invites a suspicious Carly to the hospital where he suggests that they start their relationship over and forget about their problems. He offers to buy her breakfast in the hospital cafeteria and then tries to trick her into giving him another chance. Camille is pleased when Ben stops by her hospital room just before she goes under the knife for the reconstructive surgery on her breast. Outside her room, Sara Ruth lectures Brad to stay away from Camille. Denise is upset when Ben arranges for her to get a job bussing tables in the hospital cafeteria. However, when she helps Carly see through John's scheme, John has Denise fired. While examining the stables for a leaky roof for Lucinda, Julia worries to Holden and Lily about James' plans for them and his new wife.

Molly is touched when Andy pleads with her to remain at his apartment as his roommate. When he suggests that she's got a problem accepting compliments and handling her beauty, the two share a passionate kiss. Armed with the note and the bloody handgun, James manages to get Holden's fingerprints on a brandy snifter and discovers that his fingerprints match those on the gun. He angrily vows to make Holden's pay for killing his son. Carly tries to get Brad to talk about his past including how he met Camille but he won't talk and storms out when she presses him for details. Sarah Ruth leaks to her daughter that it was Ben who arranged to find her new doctor.

Margo confides to Eddie that Tom doesn't live at the house anymore and blames a scheming Emily for their latest troubles. She stares with a bit of jealousy as he admires Katie before their date. After she complains about the obnoxious frat boys who torment coeds on campus, Eddie suggests to a thrilled Katie that they go sledding instead of to the college freshman mixer. Lily convinces Georgia to go to the mixer but she returns later, complaining that Eddie wasn' t there. The mystery man packs a box addressed to James with the gun used to kill David along with a note claiming that Holden killed his son. Rita the nanny warns the mystery man that the baby has another cold and needs to visit a doctor.

Jack thanks Julia for preparing the special setting for the party for his mother. Dolores is surprised when the Snyders throw a going-away party for her. Finding her with Brad again, Molly blasts Carly for going after the man she wants. Adjusting her heating system to overheat, Carly tries to trick Jack into rushing to help her at Fairwinds but Brad responds to her phony cry for help instead. Confronted by his parents and sister about the dangers of his drinking, Andy resents the unplanned intervention and claims that he can handle an occasional drink and doesn't need their lecture. Though Andy is upset that Molly leaked his drinking secret, Kim and the others thank Molly for everything she has done.

Arriving at the chapel for Hope's christening, Lucinda worries to Holden that James may be on track to find his dead son. The mystery father receives photos of Emily locked in her room and writes a letter to James. Finding her prenatal vitamins in her apartment, Tom and Susan worry that Emily must really be missing. Emily is examined by a nurse and uses the opportunity to try to escape. She contacts Tom with the nurse's cell phone but is cut off. Tom does discover that she called from Groverton. Molly confides to Brad that Andy never came home last night. She also confesses that Andy was responsible for the gas leak that almost cost them their lives. After he urges her to stop cutting Andy slack, Molly tells Kim, Margo and the others the truth.

When Georgia hits the stage at Oasis, Eddie can't believe his eyes. When a couple of customers jump on stage and encourage Georgia to start stripping, Eddie rushes to protects her. Ben urges Denise to stop Gary from taking advantage of young women like Georgia. Backstage, Denise stops Gary from harming Georgia and decides to press charges against him. While searching for Emily at her place, Tom runs into Brad. The two manage to rescue Andy and Molly from the gas-filled apartment and have them rushed to the hospital. There, Molly realizes that Andy passed out from his drinking after leaving the gas stove on and considers keeping Andy's secret once again or telling everyone that her roommate has fallen off the wagon.

Hiding in John's office, Brad overhears John's appointment with the judge handling the custody case. Carly rushes to help Brad when John returns early to his office but can't give him time to escape. Brad listens as John meets with Judge Manning and mentions his upcoming custody case. The judge agrees to hold a hearing tonight. Brad runs to Carly with the news but refuses to help her any further. She quickly contacts Jack for help. Surprised to meet Ben at the Oasis club, Jack explains that Gary has gotten rid of the strippers for awhile and brought in a college talent show in order to get the mayor off his back. Eddie starts his first day at work and witnesses Gary verbally abusing Denise.

Due to live coverage of the Senate impeachment trial, "As the World Turns" did not air on Tuesday, January 19.

Jack stops by Fairwinds to search for clues about David and finds Carly now owns the estate. Hearing she's asked Brad to remodel the place, Jack makes a snide remark about Brad's luck in finding work so quickly. Dolores fears the worst when she realizes that Carly is causing her sons to start fighting again. when his "associate" calls to say he can't handle the break-in today, Brad gains access to John's office himself in hopes of finding some information that can help Carly with her custody suit. However, Lisa interrupts before he can do so. Georgia decides to use the talent contest at the Oasis to prove to Eddie how talented she is. When he realizes that she's planning to perform at the exotic club, he warns her that she's making a big mistake in thinking that real talent is what Gary is looking for.

Mr. Babcock arrives at the Lakeview and informs John, Carly and Brad that the fifty million dollar trust fund has been setup and activated. Carly and John agree on naming their child Parker Joe Dixon. After John leaves her with the baby, Carly boasts that she's going to use some of the money to gain sole custody of the baby. After pointing out a homing device John planted on the baby carrier, Brad escorts Carly and Parker to Fairwinds where James reports that the place is still for sale. Amused to hear that Carly has come into some money, James negotiates Carly on the price and she agrees to pay him a million and a half in cash today. Holden and Lily accuse James of marrying Lucinda for her money but he uses the cash from the sale of Fairwinds to prove he doesn't need money.

Susan manages to rescue Tom from the locked room and both worry when Emily's car is the only sign of her. Tom explains to Margo what happened and though he thinks that Emily is pulling another of her schemes, Tom thinks that David might be the culprit behind the strange happenings and continues to investigate Emily's disappearance. Meanwhile, Emily remains locked in the room where the stalker left her and fears that she will die if help doesn't arrive soon. Margo returns home to find Adam doing his home work. He apologizes for taking the car without her permission but claims that he was angry. When he asks where Tom is, she evades the question but he suspects Emily is involved.

Emily manages to fight off David and runs into Tom as she tries to make her escape. When Emily tells him what happened, he searches the place, finds nothing and assumes that she has lost touch with reality. David locks Tom up and manages to force Emily to leave with him. Calling him "Big Ben," Denise arrives at the clinic and asks Camille to page her special doctor friend and boasts of the time she spent with him at her club. Ben carries Denise into the examination room when she faints due to her head injury. He then explains the laser surgery he'll perform on her. Carly's pleased when Jack pays her a visit at the hospital and is amused to hear that Julia is working shifts there as a volunteer.

Tom disappoints Margo when she finds he packed his bag and is ready to move back into the Lakeview. Adam's upset when he comes home from school early and finds his father leaving. Tom tries to explain but the teen won't listen and drives off in the family car. Emily urges Guzman to give her the police protection she needs to keep her safe from David but he refuses. When James overhears her, he demands some answers but she won' t talk unless he can convince David to leave her alone. Dr. Samuels reports to John, Carly, Brad, Hal and Molly that John is the father of Carly's new baby. Just as both John and Carly begin to celebrate, Hal announces he's going to start an investigation into this matter but then backs off. Afterwards, Carly announces to John that their deal is null and void because she can't keep the money unless she raises the child.

Afraid that her mother is going to commit her, a frantic Emily pleads with Tom and Margo to help her. Tom runs to get Susan while Margo warns her rival that she doesn't believe her claims about being stalked by David. The mystery father receives a report on Emily's complaint about the breaking and entering at her hotel room. Eddie and Georgia are enthusiastic when they spend breakfast together, complaining about Lucinda as well as their failed New Year's Eve plans. Katie interrupts and the three are shocked when Mr. Damon the landlord, on secret orders from Lucinda, kicks them out of their house. Katie commiserates with them and, with a simple phone call, helps them realize that Lucinda was behind the action.

Jack stops John from forcing Carly to give up the baby and reluctantly agrees to go to the hospital to help protect Carly. Julia assures Jack that she will be fine. Dr. Samuels takes over after Carly arrives with her baby and assures her that she will examine Joey and keep him safe. Hal accuses Carly of inducing labor to enable her son to be born before midnight but Jack claims that Carly was only concerned about the health of the baby. Hal laughs at the thought and asks Jack about his involvement in the paternity. Lisa is sickened when John reveals his deal with Carly. On New Year's morning Molly tries to stop a hungover Andy from having a little "hair of the dog." When Kim interrupts, Molly helps him keep his dirty little secret and takes the blame when Kim finds Andy's orange juice has been spiked.

After baby Joey is born, Carly is thrilled when she has Jack check the time to confirm that he was born before midnight. After examining his child, John reluctantly hands the newborn to Carly who dreams about her son's future. John is furious when he finds that Carly won' t give back the baby so that he can take him to the hospital. As the lights go out in her hotel room, Emily is frightened when the stalker shows himself at her door and claims to be there only to wish her a Happy New Year. Emily dials 911 to get some help but the stalker rips out the phone line. She accuses him of being David but the masked stalker orders her to say away from the police. Tom and Margo ring in the New Year at the station house with a passionate kiss.

When Carly claims to be in labor, John doubts her until he realizes that she is about to give birth to his baby. The storm forces them to handle the delivery themselves after the ambulance skids off the road and into a ditch. As the clock ticks towards the midnight deadline, John helps her deliver a baby boy just as the power suddenly goes out. Forced to remain at the station house because of the storm outside, Margo and Tom help man the constantly ringing phones while Hal orders Emily to stay out of the way. Instead, Emily helps a frightened girl while her father is arrested for drunk driving. Afterwards, Emily decides to take a hotel room and wait out the storm. But after she too loses power, she becomes frightened when she realizes that someone is trying to enter her hotel room.

On New Year's Eve, John finds Carly hiding at Jack's place. Jack and Julia insist that they are not hiding Carly from anyone. Carly interrupts and announces that their deal is off and that she wants a divorce. Camille is shocked when Brad asks her to marry him. She states that she is not free to marry him and cannot at this time. Ben ends up at the Oasis Club to find Denise the stripper. Andy enters the place and sits at the bar, agreeing to have a glass of champagne. Before he can take a sip, Molly finds him and boasts that she is there to welcome in the new year with him. He guesses that she has been spying on him and refuses to leave when she suggests they go home without celebrating. Andy gets into a fight trying to protect Molly from a customer.
