Vicky pays another call on her sister, who's stunned to hear how Donna has been faking her paralysis for weeks. Tito is ecstatic to learn that Paulina has finally been able to put her hands on her trust fund. Josie warns Joe that Toni and the district attorney now consider him a viable suspect in the Grant Harrison murder case. Though Paulina tries frantically to intervene, Joe refuses to let his wife accept any blame for his actions. Cindy tells Toni that Freeman was undoubtedly blackmailing Grant's killer. Jake smells a rat when Paulina nervously claims that Rachel had a change of heart about furnishing "Tim" with the money which is rightfully his. Josie presses Joe to explain why he felt compelled to tamper with evidence.

Stunned to see Charlie's photos of her mom, Lila realizes why Anne seemed so familiar when they met in the law office. Matt and Ally con Amanda into accompanying them down to the docks on the pretext of watching a photo shoot for the magazine. At Lumina, Rachel finds Jordan in an apparently unconscious state and instructs Miss Allen to call for help. Pretending to come to, Jordan tells Rachel he suddenly felt lightheaded while sitting at his desk. After the "paramedics" wheel Stark away, Rachel takes the opportunity to do a little more snooping in the mystery man's office. Cass snaps at a startled Charlie for showing Lila her baby book. After apologizing to the girl for his outburst, Cass faces some tough questions from his fuming fiancee.

Lila reminds Matt that he's going to have to get used to spending quality time with Jasmine without the benefit of her own presence. Cass is rattled to learn that his fiancee has had a face to face encounter with his new assistant. Determined to get her daughter out of Jordan's sphere of influence, Rachel books immediate passage for herself, Amanda and Ally on a cruise ship. Meanwhile, "David" suggests to a flustered Amanda that they move their friendship up a notch on the heels of her late night visit to his hotel room. Later, Cameron accosts Amanda, who bristles at his comment that she seems to be sleepwalking through her life these days. As Rachel wonders how to trick Amanda into boarding the boat, Ally tells her grandmother that David might be able to help.

Felicia tells Etta Mae she's through going out on a limb for Sergei, but when the police call to say they've picked up the musician for vagrancy Felicia grudgingly agrees to come down to the station house. Toni confronts a jittery Paulina with the key to the strongbox. Unable to resuscitate Freeman, Joe phones for an ambulance but ducks into hiding when Josie arrives with the paramedics. Later, Josie calls Toni to report that the late, unlamented Freeman had Grant's strongbox with him when he croaked. Claiming that Sergei is her live-in Russian tutor, Felicia springs her grateful houseguest from the pokey. Remy finally convinces Nick that Tito is out of their lives for good.

Although Jordan is thrilled to find his long lost love waiting for him in the secret garden, Amalie warns him that Amanda's strong spirit still longs for Cameron. Meanwhile, Cameron entreats an annoyed Ally to help him look for her missing mother. Paulina and Joe celebrate the fact that the dark clouds which had been hanging over them seem to have disappeared. Later, however, Joe receives another call from the black-mailer, who threatens to expose Paulina's dark secret unless the police captain meets him on the docks. Remy has a dream about finding her real mother but chalks it up to a twinge of jealousy about Tito lucking out with Paulina. After agreeing to give her old friend a place to crash, Remy cautions Tito not to broadcast the fact that they're living under the same roof once again.

Desperate to clear Gary's name, Josie and Cameron put their heads together in an effort to come up with proof of his innocence. Meanwhile, at the jail, Cindy turns on the crocodile tears as she swears to Gary that she had no other choice but to rat him out to the cops. Tyrone intervenes when Joe attempts to take Marley out of the hospital for questioning as a material witness. Sitting by her infant son's grave, Josie sadly muses over the way Gary's life has spiraled out of control every since the baby died. Cameron is outraged to learn how Cindy is poised to cash in big on Grant's death. After finding a sprig of flowers from the baby's grave in her husband's jacket, Josie urges Gary to try and recall if he went to the cemetery on the night in question.

Sergei presses his case with a flustered Felicia who reminds her young protege that he's a trifle too young for her. Arrested for grand theft auto, Anne resigns herself to spending the night in jail. Kneeling by Grant's grave, Cindy contemplates how to steal every penny of Kirkland's inheritance. Meanwhile, the judge informs Vicky that her young son is about to become a very wealthy young man. After Lila convinces him to answer the call for a "pro bono" case, Cass heads to the police station and is surprised to discover that his new client is none other than his former cleaning lady. Matt coaxes Lila to join him for some dinner and dancing. Felicia learns that Sergei is being sought by Immigration agents as an illegal alien.

Cameron is outraged to see Amanda and "David" kissing. A sobbing Josie pleads with Gary to remember how things used to be between them. Toni and Joe play good cop-bad cop to try to shake Cindy's story but she stubbornly insists that Gary strangled Grant. Gary regretfully reminds Josie that nothing can change the fact that she bore his brother's child. Meanwhile, Cameron admits to a shocked Rachel the real reason why her daughter called off the wedding. Panicked to see "Tim" back in Bay City, Paulina insists that the boy return to college at once. "David" presents Amanda with a special necklace containing a flower with a hypnotic effect. Gary resists arrest when Toni and her officers enter the Paradise bar.

June tells Joe she has witnesses who can testify that he had vicious arguments with Grant on several occasions before the mayor turned up dead. Later, outraged to learn that he's been suspended indefinitely pending an investigation, Joe informs the D.A. that he's quitting the force. Cindy confronts an intruder in Grant's apartment. Though Lila reassures Matt that he'll always be a big part of Jasmine's life, he continues to bemoan the loss of the cozy continuity they were enjoying in the Cory mansion. Joe explains to Paulina why he turned in his badge but elects to keep the grim details to himself. Lila and Matt celebrate the arrival of Jasmine's first tooth.

As Gary sinks deeper into an alcoholic haze, he reminisces in front of an uneasy Amanda about his abusive father and how much the man deserved to die. Joe is surprised to learn from Donna that Jake and Vicky were called back down to the station for further questioning. Meanwhile, at the precinct house, Toni reminds the gathering of suspects why any one of them could have knocked Grant off. As Vicky demands to be allowed to go home and help Kirkland through the upcoming funeral, Joe arrives and angrily takes Toni to task for her lack of consideration. June intervenes and reminds the bristling police captain that officer Burrell has complete control of the Harrison investigation.

Josie vents her anger when Cameron asks her how Gary is doing and lectures her that they can't "lean on" each other anymore. David plays dumb when Amanda explains how Rachel found her dozing on the terrace after her visit to the secret garden. when Amanda admits that she has a terrible headache, David offers her relief when he lays his hands on the back of her neck and whispers calming words into her ear until Cameron interrupts. Cameron tries to get closer to Amanda but David and Alli's plans continue to keep them apart. Tyrone plays for Toni the tape of Grant's threats to go to the police with information about someone in Joe's family. Toni becomes more suspicious of Joe's involvement in Grant's death and asks him about the blank pieces of paper found in Grant's pocket.

Lila demands to know why Matt is dragging his feet about signing their divorce papers. Cass tells Vicky she's being charged with second degree murder, then informs his client that unless she gives him more to work with she's going to spend many long years in prison. Joe asks an old friend in his former precinct for help deciphering the conflicting information in the coroner's report. Suddenly recalling that she had a hidden recorder running during her final encounter with Grant, Vicky plays the tape for Jake and Cass. After hearing the new evidence, Cass grimly advises Vicky to put the tape where the D.A. won't find it because it does not corroborate a plea of self-defense.

After Sergei plays a childish April Fool~s Day prank at the Lucky Lady, an annoyed Felicia advises the musician to grow up. Tito calls Paulina and complains about the high costs of his textbooks, then pushes her to loosen up some of the Cory purse strings. Amanda comes to and gasps in horror to find Jordan~s deformed face looming over her. At Nick's prodding, Remy tells Toni about her vision of Grant moving around and asking for help after Vicky hit him. Rachel informs a disappointed Paulina she won't authorize the withdrawal of any monies from the trust fund if the cash is to be earmarked for "Tim". Joe scoffs at Remy's tale, nervously insisting the girl is mistaken about Grant's demise.
