At the Harbor club, a trembling Paulina clings to Joe, moaning about what a terrible person she is. Meanwhile, Tyrone presses his client for the truth but Marley continues to insist that she killed Grant. Though Vicky shakily wonders how she can live with herself if she keeps quiet, Jake urges his wife to let Marley take the rap so Steven and Kirkland will be able to grow up with the love of their mother. Paulina tearfully tells Joe how glad she is that Grant is finally out of their lives. Tyrone is dismayed to realize that Marley is covering for her twin sister. Thursday, March 25, 1999Cindy triumphantly reports to Gary that she's fixed her slimy ex-hubby by helping Jake rescue Kirkland. Gary, however, reminds his drinking partner that without the tape she~s still on the hook with Joe for her own part in Grant's crimes. Meanwhile, Joe grimly promises his distraught wife he'll do whatever is necessary to stop Grant in his tracks. After conking Grant on the head, Vicky feels for a pulse and is alarmed to find none. Marley walks in and sizes up the situation, then tells her hysterical sister she~s going to take the blame for killing the mayor. Later, Jake arrives and sides with Marley, urging Vicky to consider what will happen to Kirkland if she confesses to murder. Wednesday March 24, 1999Following a glowing tribute from Judge walker, Grant steps up to the podium at the Chamber of Commerce banquet and launches into his speech. On the docks, Toni exhorts the exhausted police divers to keep looking for the submerged tape. Listening to the Mayor's address on the radio in the law office, Marley recalls Grant's ominous threats about disappearing with Kirkland. As his many enemies glare back at him from the audience, Grant announces that he's removing Joe from his post because he has overwhelming evidence that the police captain is guilty of obstruction of justice. Outraged by what he's heard, a drunken Gary loudly informs Toni and Cindy that Grant deserves to die. Tuesday, March 23, 1999Vicky snipes at Jake for attempting to exert control over her but he insists on accompanying her to the Chamber dinner to keep her from doing anything reckless. Grant tells an excited Kirkland they're going to be taking a long boat ride together that night. Joe promises a worried Paulina he won't let Grant hurt her ever again. Trembling at the thought of "Tim" learning the truth, Paulina wonders if she can afford not to knuckle under to the mayor's blackmail threats. Grant receives an unexpected visitor from his past. Marley reassures Tyrone he did nothing wrong by expressing his feelings of friendship. Monday, March 22, 1999Tyrone is startled to find Marley hiding in his office. Vexed at being forced to spend the night in jail, Vicky demands to be released but Jake reminds his fuming wife she'll have to stay put until Grant himself is behind bars. Tyrone presses Marley to explain why she felt compelled to slip away from the mental hospital. When a revolver suddenly slips out of her purse and falls to the floor, Tyrone realizes that Marley is gunning for the mayor. As the police divers resume their search for the tape, Grant warns Joe that Paulina's baby-selling exploits will soon become fodder for the press and for every gossipy tongue in town. Furious with her husband, Vicky vows to find a fast way out of her jail cell despite Jake's meddling. Wednesday, March 17, 1999Donna warns Vicky that her obsession with Grant is going to cost her her marriage. Cameron is dismayed to learn that his newborn son might have meningitis and will require an immediate spinal tap. Meanwhile, Gary comes to Josie's hospital room and asks his wife why she lied to him for so long about the child she was carrying---a child he grew to love so much. Realizing she has to reveal the rest of her deception, Josie shakily admits to an enraged Gary how she altered his test results to hide the fact that he can never father any children. Cindy describes for Jake the encounter she just witnessed between his wife and Grant, then reports that the mayor and Vicky have scheduled another rendezvous at a sleazy hotel. Thursday, March 11, 1999After Jordan catches her snooping through his desk, Rachel goes on the defensive and questions his alleged status as the world's oldest living human. Etta Mae tells an amused Felicia how Sergei has begun attracting droves of adoring young female fans to the coffee shop. At the hospital, Josie and Cameron are shaken to learn that a new complication has endangered the life of their newborn son. Jordan suggests to Rachel that her late husband and the original Jordan Stark shared much in common. Stunned by Josie's confession, Gary demands to know the name of the man who impregnated his wife. Weeping, Josie admits she slept with Cameron but begs her enraged husband to understand that they thought he had died in the cave- in. Cameron and Amanda join Gary at the viewing window of the neonatal ICU as the anxious new dad watches his tiny son fight for life. Jordan overhears Zack trying to get an urgent message to the Cory mansion. Josie blanches when Gary innocently suggests that they name the baby after his kid brother.
