Assawoman Canal

Anybody got any info on the Assawoman Canal? Appears to still be a lot of boat docks and tree stumps. I thought the plan was to make it 35' wide and make it passable for two boats. I plan to try it out in the next week. Any tips for navigating will be helpful. How long to go end to end? How long to get to Seacrets and/or Assateague? Thanks.

40 views and still no answer. I guess no one has gone up the Assawoman. I had hoped to hook up with Capt. Tom for a tour but that did not work out. Any pointers on navigating will be greatly appreciated.
