Well folks, most of the terrorists, I mean tourists have left! It's time to celebrate!
How about a good old fashioned SBG!!!!
Let's kickoff fall with a big bang!
I'm thinking Herring Point but the real point is open now, what do you think? I haven't fished either location lately so I'm open either way. The good thing about the point is, there is more room to set up, so maybe that is a better option?. The weather looks good ! Just like before, everyone just bring a little something for the feast!

May be able to make it early. Becky has a Dr appointment on
monday in Pa. I am sure the Scottsman and his bride are up to it. Matey and Phil and the girls have been out a few days this week already. We have met them and fished together. I think Phil has some reel candy that is going to make many cry.

The point has been real slow for fish, unless you like Jersey flounder and doggies. I agree with Matey - let's do Savages Ditch for the following reasons:

1) It will encourage those coming from Rt 26 southward to participate, 2) the fishing's far better there, 3) it's where the next tournament will be held, allowing those that might fish it to get a feel for the local water, and 4) it's always warmer in southern climates. :-)

As of 2pm today, all DSSP crossings were closed....apparently, the last storms have left pretty much no beach. They may be open on Sunday....may not....should we drop back and punt?

I don't know.

Plenty of room at the towers. GP and Herring point were open all day and the point was open in the afternoon. Some say no fish.

if they are open there tomorrow we should be okay for sunday. if they are closed tomorrow we can make an alternative plan. might just have to start a phone tree or something to make sure all know that want to come. but as of this minute i say we do savage ditch road. i have faith it will support us.

hey steve call it what you want but show up if you wan tto be seen besides everyone else knows what we are talking about.

okay here is what we learned today. we fished just off the conquest road entrance but there was a ton of people riding south. my scout walked all the way to the inlet and said there was nothing stoppiong you from goiing past savages entrance. so what that means is worst case scenario is you have to drive on at conquest road and go south to savages ditch area. either way that is what we will do an dgo as far south as they will let us from conquest road or the typical 150-200 yds past savage ditch road entrance. see ya all tomorrow. we will be there from no later than 11 am on i8 can gurarntee you that or if sxcots phil gets his way at daylightr.

1st MUCH THANKS TO BEACHMAN and Mrs. Beachman for giving a tug or two out of a stuck situation ! We were able to pass the good deed forward by loaning jumper cables later in the day to a jeep coming from the north pocket area...
SBG - It was WONDERFUL to finally spend a day with the group again - I have missed you all so much and it was delightful to meet the folks from across the pond and all the other new additions - I think I even met Sean Connery ! LOL's...... Weather was BEAUTIFUL with the light breeze from the east, the food was delicious and plenty to go around - can't wait til the next time and hopefully then we won't get stuck (since we were stuck 3 times yesterday, hopefully we have met our quota for that for the year) and I will pack my own rod so I can fish, thanks to all that offered me a rod to use but I would feel terrible if I broke it .....I just couldn't put the spin reel on the convetional rod (just wrong) .... Till we meet again - have safe journeys everyone !!!

A big thanks to all from Stephen, Jacqueline and Cameron!! I signed up today specifically to thank everyone for their hospitality yesterday at the SBG...our first.

We came out to meet Phil and Elsie, since my wife is a fellow Scot (yes she can understand every word, lol) but we were very fortunate to meet many more wonderful folks too. It was only my second time driving onto the beach, and I was glad to pick up a few tips and even catch a few fish. My wife loved it and said it was one of the most enjoyable days that she's had since we moved down from Newark last October. Cameron loved spending the day on the beach and playing with the other kids, especially Liam.

We hope to make it back and see many of you again. Thanks for the great food and a great day at the beach.

My Director of ITT is currently busy. As soon as she is available, she will do her magic and I will post some photos.

Due to the exreme embarrassment it may cause, the photo of Matey driving a Chebby won't be posted. But if the check bounces, you can be sure it will be!

It was great to finally make an SBG, glad to see some familiar faces and always nice to make some new friends. Unfortunately we didn't get to mingle as much as we wanted, although Zoie got around pretty good. Hope to see you all very soon. Oh yeah, everything was delicious. Thank you.

Elsie, Phil and Jacqueline - perhaps the largest known gathering of Scots to ever take place in Sussex County.

Woohoo! It worked! Now, all I have to do is downsize each 1.9 MB pic to 75 kb. More in next post.

Phil was kind enough to bring a wee bit o' Scottish spring water to the colonies. Darn fine water, I must say ...

Putting out the food. Yep, there was a lot of food (as usual).

And then there was eating the food. Yep, a lot of food.
