I was thinking about building a boat. (making my own design)
i am completely new to model boat building and wondered what kind of wood to use for the different parts.
(I'm not making a sail boat)
(i know you guys will probably recomend a kit but i want to try to make my own)

Thank You Very Much!!!

hey
i am completely new to model boats aswell. i first thought to make my own design too!! its funny how we had the same idea. i heard to use marine plywood for the hull construction as it is waterproof, you can buy it at places that sell plywood. i think it might say "exterior ply" insted of "marine ply" on the shelf. also to join the ply together you should use a special type of PVA wood glue. its called selleys polyurethane, its a brown liquid. while curing the glue will foam up to fill the pores in the joint as not to allow any water in. read the bottle before use. trust me i bought some for about $19 from bunnings warehouse and its definately worth it!

well thats just about my extent of knowledge!
hope i helped.
