i've got a fiberglass, speed boat style, r/c model boat, approximately 730mm in length and 90mm in width with an airplane glo .29 in it, i have fitted a cooling pipe to stop the engine overheating so that it can be used in the boat. i have attemped to use it at a nearby lake but it does not go very fast. the engine revvs like crazy but the boat does not seem to move through the water very fast at all. i have tried many things to hopefully improve the performance but nothing seems to make any difference. i reached the conclusion that it must be the prop size, however i am not very experienced with boats so i am not sure what size prop would be appropriate. the prop currently fitted is approximately 43mm in width, with about 1cm pitch the serial number is 4056, i have already tried angling the propellor shaft upwards to cause the boat to lift out of the water more, but it didnt make any difference, i believe the problem lies in the engine/prop setup would anyone please be able to advise me on what the problem may be? is it the prop? if yes, what size should i get? as i said before i am not very experienced with boat setup so your patience would be appreciated. i should probably add that the prop has a small nick in it, i have a video of the boat before the prop got nicked and it looks a bit faster, but i dont think its just the nick, as the engine over revved even before the nick happened. i would appreciate it if you could help me in any way, big or small, thanks.
