I received subject kit and started on it before realizing what I had. It is an advance kit and I have built over 7 kits from Mantua with outstanding results. This kit needs to be renamed "impossible". Bad instructions, bad material (non laminated wood for keel and frames), shortage of material, over cluttered plans of details impossible to reproduce in model (and I consider myself skillful). The main thing is OVERPRICED. I have complaint to retailer selling this kit and will see what happens. Does anyone else know of the best kit? Thanks, Al |

Hi, Al, I'm pretending to build Mamoli's version, but it is a long process. The biggest problem is in trying to translate their version of English into something I understand. Otherwise, parts all seem to fit well and to be of quality construction. Even though ship has been banged around a few times, everything is still attached. So far Mamoli has included more than enough of everything. Hopes this helps. norm |

Blue Jacket Shipcrafters also sells a USS Constition kit but its also advanced and pricey $530 US. But also good quality and instructions are in english (Blue Jacket is based in Maine) - Ive built 2 of their smaller kits and am pleased with the results and their help (they have a help line for their customers). http://www.laughingwhale.com |

Hi, I've just discovered this resource. I am also looking to build a model of the USS Constitution, but nothing as complex as you guys. I am looking for simple floor plans as my boat will be a solid block, so I am breaking up the ship into its decks and layering it that way. Would anyone be willing to share the deck plans and mast heights? I can be contacted @ cgf4@comcast.net. Thanks. |

Would any of you be willing to sell me the plans that come with the Mamoli Constitution, or good copies of them? I'm willing to pay $200 for them. Thanks. Gianluca |
