barefoot in the grass the dew cools your feet standing feeling the light of this early new day a sound from the distance muffled and subtle stillness standing in quiet waiting for the sound's return breathing deeply pulling in the fragrant bouquet open fresh eyes overwhelmed by the glory sunrise at it's wondrous peak tints and hues light the blooms smelling the flowers of summer wild and abundant meadow breathing even more deeply remembering the last time the warmth unwelcome at first surprised by it's return the sound same as before much closer now footfalls a strain to continue to stand still, eyes closed finding strength within but the lovely anxiety is unnerving burning moistness returns fueled by the memories the touch electrifying fingers to wet lips questions is it really him? or a return of the dream open heart leaps eyes fall on his face familiar yet brand new memories of ancient bliss newness dawning this new day precious morning of the heart | ||
