I had a scarey experience one time at IRI ! I saw a short guy with a nail clippers around his neck with a bicycle pump, he was blowing up an inflatable fish that looked like a Striper, he was asking anyone he could to take a picture of him holding the blow up fish! He proceeded to go over and talk to a guy that was catching Tog right and left begging him to let him reel one in, you may not believe this but the guy that was catching Tog was Santa Claus ! He looked right like him, they called him RAX but I knew it was santa claus! I thought for a minute that the short goofy loooking guy might have been one of his elfs but I soon realized that there is no way that Santa Rax would hire such an elf! So yes there is a Santa ! check the rocks this Spring or fall and you will see him! If you see a short goofy guy around him with a white bucket and a blow up fish..... kick him in ! Santa won't mind! |

LMAO!!!! Poor Rax. He doesn't get a break does he? Okay. Here is an experience I had. When I went to bed, on the night my aunt died, I woke up to hear her calling me. "Jennie." That was all I heard, but it was her voice saying it. I asked my mother the next morning if she was calling me last night, she said, "No. Why?" When I told her what happened, she said that she also heard my aunt's voice telling her that she was in peace now and not to worry. Scared the crap out of me. |

Down in Ft. Fisher, NC there was a story about a local boy who got his hand stuck in some rocks while trying to catch stone crabs. The tide came in, drowning him. From that point there are about a zillion versions of the story. Most of my favorites involve vacationing beachgoers meeting the most adorable little boy, who asks them to stop at his mother's house on their way out of town to give her a message... Or, for the "snuggle factor" with your girlfiend, the same intro, but in lavish detail, ending with how you can still hear him calling for help on windy nights on the beach... |

In my teen years there used to be an old abandoned (Haunted) house out in the middle of no where. The closest home, or even tree to this house was a farm nearly a mile away. I had been in the place before and stories of floating bottles, screams and doors flying open were of course told. I thought it was just a cool old house, you know, the one with the old matress up stairs and playboys laying around. Well, one night after a few beers I'm sure, we decided to take our women to the haunted house "snuggle factor" There were six of us in 2 cars. We pull up at some late or early morning hour, no other sign of life anywhere. Of course I'm the first on in the door with a couple hanging on my shirt tail walking closely behind. As we walk in the door and get a couple steps into the house, we hear this sound. A sound like 20 or so people talking quietly amounst themselves, you really couldn't make anything out of it until a very distinct and crisp voice shouts out "GET OUT" above the rest of the chit chat noise. Well, I've never been known as a runner, but lets just say I broke a record or two that day. I've seen shadow like figures twice. Both instances occured shortly after someone close to me dieing. The first time there was someone else in the room with me and this shadow figure stood above my bed and waved it's arms over my face for about 5 or 10 minutes and actually covered my one eye at one point. That happened in a house I used to live in at one time with a friend. Another good friend that lived there had just died not too long before that, so I think it was him. The second time happened in my parents home. I was living in the basement at the time and I saw another shadow figure in the room. I was alone this time and retreated to my sheets.LOL My brother had died not very long before that incident. Have not had anything similar happen since to myself as far as the shadow figures. My brother who died had a son that was right around 2 when he passed. He used to wake up in the mornings for a while after his death and tell us how he was playing with his daddy last night. His toys would be out too.

Taken from Coasttocoastam.com DIEPART, a paranormal research group out of Des Moines, IA & Founder Joe Leto had heard stories of the Bevington Mansion in Winterset, IA. Rumors of construction workers leaving the house and not willing to return during renovation some years ago interested us. We took numerous quality EVP's while there and before we left on Sat 3/5/05, I took this picture from the front lawn. The curators have confirmed the attic is in fact quite empty and two other Diepart researchers returned the next day at aprox. 3 pm, the same time this picture was taken the previous day to confirm nothing is visable from where I took the picture. This has caused quite a stir & we've been contacted by a local TV station who's asked to do a story on the findings, WOI Chan 5. I thought it may interest you. Here's a link which has more information on the property.

I'll add one. My first home purchase was in the Wilmington DE area in 1981. I bought a rancher with a finished basement from a very nice widowed lady, Mrs Marchello, who was the original owner. I had two HS era friends who rented / stayed with me. One friend Brian had a real arse of a GF who would show up at the house all the time without calling, probably because she didn't trust my friend. She would just let herself in the house without knocking. Well, I had a storm door that had a characteristic "slam" when it closed, like all do. One summer evening, about twilight, the three of us guys were in the basement watching TV, drinking a few beers before heading out for the night. The GF wasn't supposed to be around. Suddenly, we hear the storm door slam, hear someone walking across the hardwood floors all the way to the door that leads down stairs. While this is happening, I said, "uh oh, Robin!" (my bud's GF). The basement door didn't open, and my other bud Joe says "Well, is she coming down or not?" So Brian gets up and goes upstairs, and comes back down and says "there's no one there". We're all skeptical, and say "Riiigght!", and he gets angry and says "there's no one f-ing there!" So we believe him, sort of. Joe gets up to get us three more beers and checks upstairs. He confirms it. We all 100% heard the exact same thing, foot steps and all. Well, about two months later, a picture in the living room fell off the wall, and the hook was still in place in the wall. Then that autumn, one evening Brian was taking a nap on his bed, and Joe and I were down stairs watching TV. Brian comes down the stairs really pissed, and starts jumping in my face, calling me an a-hole, etc. I don't have a clue what he's talking about, and neither did Joe. It took about 15 minutes before Brian would calm down and tell what he was angry about. He was sure I pulled a practical joke on him. He explained that he woke up with a large painting lying on top of him that was hanging on his wall. It was about 3 feet long by 2 feet high! He did not feel it land on him, he woke up with it on top of him. The next day, I talked to two neighbors, and aksed the embarrassing question: how did Mr. Marchello die, and where? I learned that he died from a massive heart attack in the living room. Brian had the BR that the Marchello's slept in. I personally never had anything happen to me in that house, and I lived there alone part of the time I owned the house. |

Real long story so here is the short version.... Went into an abonded house on a farm we hunted and found a buffalo head nickel....bad mojo started happening....returned the nickel on a warm May afternoon..yadayadayada... walked back into the house to "give" back the nickel and it was like 20 degrees in the house. Ran into the previous owner of the house, told him I was in the house and without telling him the ending he asked if I "felt it" Other guys I hunt with have refered to the house as the haunted house without any of them hearing my story. Two weeks after the passing of my Dad's mother we were at Disney World, Dad gets a call from the hotels front desk wanting to patch through a call from his mother, nothing but static on the line. He calls back to the front desk to clarify the caller, and the lady said, yeah Mr. Hudecheck is was your Mother, Geraldine. Gotta believe.

I could fill this thread with ghost stories, but I wont. I grew up in my parents 3 story 160+ year old victorian house, the street use to be called millionares Lane and my mom did a search and our house use to be a who..house, well lets just say it had a red light out front. I could tell you dozens of stories that i have experianced and my sisters and parents and friends about sightings, sounds, missing items, shoulder taps and asst. stuff. But nothing was ever frightful, no scary screams or chains jingling or scary ghost. I lived there for 20 years and my parents still do. One quick thing, I saw a grown man walk across my living room floor, he had brown hair, about 6 foot tall, and a flannel shirt. He walked across the floor and into the front foyer, then dissapeared. I jumped up and checked the door and all was locked from inside and no one to be found....

Awe common fish4life. Tell us more. I had a guy I knew have a similar experience as Ninja did. A little background on the family is needed first for validation. This family was the textbook trailer trash, redneck family. Lived in a trialer with all sorts of stuff layin' around. Cars on blocks, yes that plural. Engines hanging from trees. First time I met the dad, he came in around 10pm with rifle and told the son to help him drag a deer out of the field. A no Shat kind of family. Sister living at home with her 2 kids, no dad. ect. ect... This guy had gone into a local "haunted" house, and old mansion with the lion statues and all. In his wonderings he came across and old lawnmower. Being the redneck he was, he took it home to make something or fix one of there 15 mowers strewn across the lawn. It was raining or something so he stuffed the mower under the trailer, just beneath his room. That night the room shook, not the whole trailer, just that room. Now according to him, the entire family ended up sleeping in mom and dads room that night. And dad made him return the mower the next day. The shaking stopped once the mower was returned. Now me being a young skeptic, questioned his mother on the story. All I got was a stern look and she said "I don't want to talk about it" and she walked off. From a women that would tell you how it was, I was convinced the story was true. |
