Why is that impossible...mount betwen tank and fuel pump. Don't you have a fuel line that runs from tank to engine? |

Brad thanks for the help .But it says to mount before the pump, will it restrict fuel flow or damage the electric fuel pump if mounted on the wring side of pump? |

BH39, The Racor seperators on my boat are mounted in the fuel line between the tank and the fuel pump. To the best of my knowledge, that's how they're all mounted. Don't know of any reason why the fact that you have an electric fuel pump would change that. |

BH39,please don`t be offended by what I say.I don`t know what your mechanical skills are. The filter does not have to be physically between the pump and tank.It can be in a convenient spot close by and not violating any elevation recommendations. As long as it is in the "flow scheme" between the pump and tank,it should work fine. You make that happen by the way you run the tubing. |

Jeff, I am assuming you have an outboard since you mentioned primer bulb. Therefore, the fuel routing should be fuel line from tank to filter inlet, filter outlet to primer bulb, primer bulb to motor. I understand that soome outboards use elec. fuel pumps to meet the demand that the mechanical pumps lack, especially on long runs on larger boats. I would not install the filter on the exit side of fuel filter due to the possabilit of leakage at the filter gasket caused by back-pressure from the pump. If this does not apply to your rig, tell us what your boat is, describe the power and fuel set-up now. |
