Boated over 60 flounder and 1 sea trout, had 10 keeper flounder. Thursday we caught so many we had to take a break, was getting 2 to three at a time, mostly throw backs, however in the 15-16 inch range. Using plain minnow (small) on a 18 inch leader, one ounce sinker. Spot are in and bloodworms are the ticket, however the bloods are a little enemic, would sure like to know a good inexpensive alternative to bloodworms. Location, back bay for spot or along the edges, 24 marker not a bad location. Flounder - South side of gull island and if you can get the drift between 20 and 19a towards 1. Look for the red and green marker behind gull island and drift towards the American Legion in the Ocean View area. Morning around 0630 on outgoing tide best results. |

Great to hear somebody got into flounder in the bay. We headed out to southeast of DB on Saturday and it was a bit sloppy. We had the usual good action on seabass with one 20" flounder but the IR bay probably would have been a bit more comfortable. Maybe we'll give it a shot next time! We last fished the bay about a month ago and didn't catch squat so we've headed to b-buoy the last few trips. |
