Well, after 7 sunny days in O.C., my family and I put about 50 flounder in the boat but had to put around 45 of 'em back. A handful of blowfish to amuse the kids. Took a flounder trip everday and as usual, high to outgoing was OK but incoming to high produced more for me. Typical baits, minnow/squid or shiner/squid and preference seemed to be white skirts or white "squid teasers". Chartreuse didn't do bad but yellow (my fall back color) didn't do nuttin'! Tried the east channel outside of Bahia, the top of the thorofare by the island and went behind Assateague one trip but best bites were at the bottom of the thorofare from buoys 3 to 6. The fishing gods (is it constitutional for me to say that?) granted me the first flounder and first keeper on my boat but I am happy to say with no prejudice that my dad had the heaviest one, my mother-in-law the longest, and my 3 year old with the most. Yes, my "almost 4 year old" was top dog 3 of 6 trips. My 5 year old had 3 or 4 break off during the fight, yes his rod is getting re-spooled with better line. My wife? Well, she gets the hard charger award for never giving up. Sorry if this got long winded but it was my first chance to post a positive report although it was Ocean City instead of the DE Bay or IRI. Maybe next weekend or two I can put some comparable posts in from DE Bay.
P.S.-My brother made the Oyster Bay photo gallery a week ago with his 5+ lb flounder from marker #6 at the bottom of the thorofare. Nice fish bro!

I really miss the salt. The Mrs. is due in a couple weeks with the 4th. Me and three little ladies have been stuck inland and hitting the local lake the last 4 dusks. Good ole crusty lake shoes - we're flipping rocks looking for crayfish. The best bait is live and indigenous. We've produced each night. largemouth 1 pounders. Poor fish get reeled in by two or three separate kids. I make sure the fish is happy before they swim away. Tonight was worms and bluegills. Self-hooking style. It is hard to catch on when the 2 year old is doing wind sprints in the shallows though. But when she focuses on the worms in the cup she can cover some serious ground when someone needs a new bait. Can't wait for the reel fish in August at the beach. Thanks for the reports.
