Left North Side Marina around 6:30 and headed for B Bouy. Bottom fished most of the AM. Caught around 50 sea bass between 4 people fishing, put 5 in the box. Also had several shorty flounder, threw them all back. Did a little trolling around 11:00 AM nothing to speak of here. All in all was a good day fishing and not working. We also now understand about boats in the inlet fishing when trying to navigate the channel.

Fished B buoy Thursday morning. The largest sea bass @16 inches, eight keepers.
Went about 1.5 miles past B and ran into a school of something (bluefish?). I put a blue plug on and cast into the fish jumping at the fringe and caught 3 snapper blues until I lost the school.

It was lots of fun until I had to clean up the blood one spattered all over the boat.

Bottombouncer, next time you head to b-buoy you may want to try a little further southeast of the buoy. The last two weekends we caught over 100 bass between two of us with some nice ones mixed in(we were out Saturday this week). Just go about about 1.5 miles southeast of the buoy and try to fish in 70-80 feet of water. There should be a fleet of boats over there.

Ditto as well. Optimal depth we found yesterday was 75'. Did ok in the am. Flounder picked up as the tide was slowing down. Nailed them real hard when the tide picked back up again. We really did better in the pm away from the fleet. We probably caught well over 100 fish, our total kept was 24. You slide over 80' and its hit or miss. Also try to marinate your squid in shedder oil (aka Ninja Juice). I think Frugal is happy now we got that dam skunk out of his bilge and he got his MOJO back :-)

I also agree with Ninja on the shedder oil and the water depth. Once you get deeper than 80 feet the bite slows down and we almost always use shedder oil on our squid. Minnows are also a plus but you will go through a lot of them. Good luck next time everybody!
