Fished the OC Surf this morning... 6:15-10:30AM... 2 kings on bloods about 6:45, dark clouds moved in and not another bite till about 8 when I was holding the rod (stopped throwing twister tails on jig heads) and had a nice hit, another 12" king Held the rod for the rest of the morning and had a nice, fat 12 1/2" kingfish on bloods again Cut open a squid and there was a fish in it that looked like a tiny permit... hooked it on and set it out... had a pulling-the-rod-out-of-sandspike hit but it bent out my tiny size 4 hook Now I have a straight piece of metal, not a hook This was at 90th, I knew there was a good hole at 86th but it was occupied by about 8 people who got about triple what I got.... The kings are still thick And the birds were working and I hooked into a massive 3" bluefish hehe Good fishin'! |

Plenty of free parking along the street here at 90th, gets crowded Friday-Monday Failing that, park at the former Ocean Plaza Mall on 94th Street. Hundreds of free parking spots and no mall anymore! give me an e-mail or something when you want to come down here... Friday it looks like I'll be up about 5:30 to get out there. Going to be scattered storms all week... I planned on being fishing now but the water warmed up a few degrees and all the surfers are out surfing the incoming tide on the sand bar... good waves for once I'll see if I can soak some squid and lightsticks for some sharks tonight... who know's Another report soon! Good fishin' till then |
