Hi Everyone!

I'm going to have the opportunity to visit Ocean City Oct. 31 to Nov. 7, and would like some advise on the fishing available that time of year. I'm thinking of bringing a surf rod, an inshore spinning rod and an 8wt flyrod.

Thanks, Ken

Welcome to the board. You've picked a very good time of year to visit. The surf should be very productive so definately bring the surf rod. Just keep reading the posts on this site and you will find out what's being caught and where. Also most tackle shops will point you in the right direction.

Welcome to the board, Ken! Your opportunity presents itself at a great time to enjoy what has in the past been a productive surf fishery. I can't help you much with the fly fishing ( there are those here that will), but if you soak some whole finger mullet with your surf rod and cast some bucktails or plugs into the surf at that time you will most likely come up with some stripers and bluefish. Always check with the local bait shops to get the latest info when you visit. The rest of the contigent here will chime in with their suggestions I'm sure.

We fish the Del. beaches in the fall with light tackle and flies. Stripers around at that time.

Surf fish casting 1/2 oz. bucktails with a white worm. You should be able to catch stripers, trout, blues and drum. Any place along the beach from Cape Henlopen to Fenwick Island.

Yo, welcome to the board new member Saxatilis. Whatg was that about catching strippppers, trout, blues and drum from the surf on 1/2 oz bucktails??? I met some guy from DE in Hatteras who claimed to be successful doing that, so we followed him around. Funny, I didn't see him catcha thing except a case of the "goin' home blues"! HAH

What's going on now in the surf? Have you found any trout yet?
