Returned home Sat. morning after a week of fishing the Champ.Every freshwater fisherman should go at least once. We mugged the LM's outta grassbeds.Caught smallies everywhere....even tried dropshotting for the 1st time....its works. As a bonus...caught a 5.5 lb 24 inch walleye which we had with our tbones. Great trip all in all and good luck to the boys from Tidewater Bass Club!! |

Bucky, Great report, welcome to the board. When I was in the Coast Guard we went to lake Champlain BY BOAT from Manasquan New Jersey to repair a navigation light up there. Beautiful place. George |

Steven: Don't know how far up you were, but my grandfather worked for the railroad, and he would spend a week at a time in the house by the swinging bridge. I don't even think it's there anymore. His job was to open the bridge for boat traffic. Needless to say, we spent a lot of time there with him, and the fishing was fantastic. I won't tell you how the locals used to "catch" the fish, but there were plenty of them there. Lots of good memories about that place. My dad dropped 4 cars in the lake driving across the ice to Plattsburgh until he got smart. Heh Heh! Thanks for bringing up the memories. Don |
