Fished the incoming tide in IRB till about 1:30 p.m. on 7/19. 4 throwback flounder and 1 20". Went to the dock to pick up a friend and my buddy's pontoon boat catches fire (actually the outboard caught fire). After we pulled the boat, we decided to try clamming. Did really well and had a nice appetizer before giong out to dinner. Then, someone stole my favorite flounder rod from the back of my truck in the restaurant parking lot. It was an expensive weekend for me and my buddy. But I did have a great flounder dinner last night. Oh yeah, all my flounder were caught on a 5-6" strip of bacon and about a 2" live minnow. |

Sorry to hear of the fire and stolen gear, that just stinks. At least you caught a keeper flounder and clams are always good. Is your buddies engine a total loss? |

Quick action saved the motor I think. We didn't get into it too much. My guess is it was a leaking carb and a bad ground or short in the electrical system. Bad combination. |
