Just wanted to introduce myself as I am new to this board. A buddy of mine told me about this site and it looks like a great source of information for fishing the lower Delaware area, which is where I do most of my saltwater fishing. Family members have a home in Longneck just minutes from Masseys. I fish alot of the Pot-Nets areas, masseys, IRI from land and manage to get out on the pontoon in the bay a few times a year.

Im looking forward to exchanging ideas and reports with you guys and maybe even catching up with a few in person. In fact I plan to be down in the area from late this Friday 7/19 to sunday evening. Hopefully the flatties in the bay will cooperate on saturday afternoon. I also have plans for an all nighter at IRI for saturday night into sunday.

Fluk - in most instances, I would recommend that you not believe anything Dick has to say :-) Heck, even Dick is not his real name :-)
But in this instance, he's not messing with you.

Welcome to the Board

Flukinuki, welcome to the board. first thing u have to becareful fishing is watch out for that guy dick. he likes to walk around the inlet with his mickey mouse rod with a rubber sinker and no hook. he`ll brag about how many fishes he caught with it. when he sees someone catch a fish he`ll ask u if he can talk to it. sometimes they just give him a minnow to keep him ocupied. sometimes some of the members on here feel sorry for him and take him fishing with them. he likes to cut up the bait and net there fish for them. but overall he is a nice guy.

Fluk, don't listen to the monkey. He's just jealous cause I actually do catch more fish than him even though I don't use a hook. :-) As you can see, he is a troubled soul. Whatever you do, don't fall for his "pet my monkey" trick...

The teaser is a hunk of styrofoam for the head, covered with two lengths of "police line, do not cross" yellow plastic banner, wrapped with red plastic tape and a circle of black tape for the eye. I passed a length of nylon cord through the styro to put a leash on it. The yellow banner behind the head was cut into strips to make the "feathers".

Better late then later. Welcome to the funny farm Flukinuki. You have just entered a zone where you have to give up control of your TV, RV and more then likely, half your beer. And any fishing secrets that you have harbored in the past, are now community property, but it's just between a few of us here, and we wouldn't tell anyone else. If you'll excuse an inside joke; I always thought that by the time we got our hands on it, wood was already finished, he he he.

No problem Wgl56. Just to clarify what I do for a living is Stripping, refinishing, painting, staining or interior and exterior wood like furnature, doors, windows...LOL. You yould be right that by the time we get the wood it is pretty much "finished" growing :-)

Fluki, welcome to the board. This is a fun place and full of characters. My yeallow teaser is regularly seen on the lochs of Scotland and has been safely stowed away for display at IRI, Henlopen and all ponts east come September.

Dear Chief Mikey

I have spoken to HIM who is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent and he has seen and felt your doubts about the September adventure.

He spaketh unto me thus.....'fear not said he though mighty dread, ye'll whack a tastie on the head'!!!!

You will see from this quotation that Big G is obviously a fellow native of the land of whisky, cakes and ale. It therefore follows that the wind, which is His to command, will be calm. It better 'cos I know where he lives!!!!

Rick

Had my first go with the fly in UK salt waters on Saturday. Got one pull to a baitfish pattern but skunked.

Fished at the warm water outlet from a nuclear power station 30 miles down the coast from Edinburgh. Clear water but all fishing gear now glowing well in the dark!!!! My buddies had two European Bass each on a pearly white artificial sandeel fished behind a float in the outflow. I tried that too but to no avail.

I've tied up a few more surf candy type flies for my trip and I really hope the stripers aint left town. Only just over 5 weeks 'til we leave.
